I had initially planned to retire at 62, work part-time, and save money, but the impact of high prices on various goods and services has significantly disrupted my retirement plan. I'm worried about whether those who experienced the 2008 financial crisis had it easier than I currently am. The volatility of the stock market is a concern as my income has decreased, and I fear that I won't be able to contribute as much as before, potentially jeopardizing my retirement savings.
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.
This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.
Mind if I ask you to recommend this particular coach to you using their service?

Theos podcast just may be the most positive American thing on the internet
Nah theo really is putting America on his back. Its incredible man
Has been for some time
Underrated comment right there. Hope all these podcasters know how important they are to the average working class
You aren’t watching the right podcasts
Yea it’s just really incredible to me that he’s willing to sit down with such a wide variety of people and really talk to them. It’s not like rogans podcast where he shares too many of his opinions, Theo only cares about the opinions of the guest and doesn’t really care to debate them. The only thing of that sort Theos podcast does is shine a light on the real problems the American people face. Otherwise is just really fun and informative show for everyone. He’s doing everything right.
‘She’d would’ve left but she didn’t have a car’ Is the most southern thing I’ve heard in a while
South perspective: #facts Tough market
Different markets. For sure.
I literally loled
It was also a legitimately laugh out loud line even though many would never want to give Dave credit for being funny.
Divorce rates had to go up with the car and then the 2 car household. Ask Crowder about that
There’s an alternate universe out there where Dave Ramsey is a pastor of a church in Tennessee and Theo Von is the youth pastor.
Lololo, I can see it.
fuck this is too true

If this was a Rick and Morty episode lol
In that alternate universe Dave Ramsey would still be battling multiple legitimate lawsuits. Dave Ramsey and the Lampo Group are not what people think they are. The moment he refused to initially fire Hogan his fate was sealed.
“Do you have to go to the bank to file bankruptcy?” is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard

Been watching Ramsey for years and I took him up on his advice. Downsized everything, got rid of all my debt, paid off my truck, then took it even one step further- I moved into my paid off truck may of 2020. I’ve saved over 154k cash, which I’ve placed into high yield savings accounts / s&p500. His advice changed my life. Used to live paycheck to paycheck, now I’ve got FU money. If I don’t like a job I’m at, I could quit and live off savings well over 5 years 😂 Just put out a video about it for those who’re interested.

Some of his advice is obsolete for the present day..a lot of boomer advice like the economy & cost of living is still 30 years+ years ago. Seems like a decent enough guy though & isn't running a scam (that I know of)
@@Roberto-de8xv Not as obesolete as you'd think. I've paid off $54k in debt and am sticking to the baby steps. @LocalBoyy it's never too late to start. I started 3 years ago and had a major medical event that set me back but being debt free is coming soon. Should have a house by next year. I'm 30 and happy to have figured it out now. Even those nearing retirement can start living financially free.

@Roberto-de8xv i used his guidelines to get out of debt and have an emergency fund. It's definitely not outdated, or i wouldn't have been able to get debt free.

When he says that lie people tell, and steal people's hope, that's exactly how I went about my life thinking about being successful, rich, having a house, because of the delusion of how we see millionaires, and it blew my mind just now. Im 37, just now got my life back and in Gods hands. But I still see my success in the future of having the home and a savings seems very low because of being told no one can make it at certsin ages. Or without a degree. So, I keep going and it's all I can do. But not sure if at 37 with no degree, it's ever possible to get there.
@@wastedanalogues8991Nah, you got this! Just start now, it gets harder as time goes by. You've got 25 years to 62 years old early retirement. Just figure out how you can adjust your income and/or spending to get your annual personal savings rate up to 25% of your income. Invest it in something like a total stock market index fund or the S&P500, then come age 62 you'll have enough invested to live off just the interest. When your money makes more money than you do, that is true financial independence. Follow the 4% rule from that point on and you'll have more cash flow in retirement than you have your working years. 25% invested 25 years at 10% return (S&P500 average) will replace 82% of your income with a 4% withdrawal rate. Remember you're used to budgeting for 75%, so that's a 7% raise your first year of retirement. You should be able to give yourself around a 3% raise to keep up with inflation without drawing down your principal either. Pretty cool.

Dave's "debt snowball" works! Not only does it work, but it's also extremely simple and applicable to the common man. I'm basically a Neanderthal and still managed to dig myself out of a massive financial hole I had dug in my 20s. I'm 35 now and completely debt free aside from a mortgage that I'm on track to pay off a decade or two early. My income never really changed during that time either. Just my behavior! Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" was the BEST unintentional marriage counseling. My husband and I grew up with completely different views on money. Caused much strife early in our marriage. Friends invited us to attend FPU at their house. We commited to "debt snowball" and paid off $47k in 15 mo. We both worked and continued on baby steps. Then covid hit and our employer issued mandate. Because we had emergency money we were able to figuratively say "F off, you're not making me take that Vax." That was in 2022. Super stressful but we used what we leaned from Dave Ramsey to move on and create a new life in a new area with new careers (in our 40s!). Forever grateful to ya, Dave!

Otherwise it’s all still very good advice, very applicable to the modern age. You’d be better off following it than not. What part is a joke? Make and save enough money to buy a second pressure washer - now you're not jut a pressure washer, you're an employer making more money and employing someone that needs a job. More importantly, they are merely examples that anyone can understand and shouldn't be taken literally. "Pressure washer" could have been exchanged for anything else that has a relatively low company start up cost, can make you money, and expand into something more lucrative if you spend/invest your money wisely.
Your ears probably perked up like mine when I heard collecting cans. haha.
All on an income of $18,000 per year, I was able to max out my IRA (annual max of $7,000 in 2024 for single), pay off my $210,000 undergrad debt, and buy my parents a furnace for their home this year. They died years ago, but I finally made it. I salute you Dave Ramsey. The answer to every financial problem is earn more, spend less. If one ambulance transport costs $7K and one ER visit lasting 1 hour is $3,600 and you make $18K per year and rent on a 0 bedroom apartment is $1,500/month, then just stop eating. You just have to ask yourself; do you NEED the food or do you WANT the food. Do you NEED to sleep and a bed to sleep in? Or could you try harder and just skip sleep altogether. Young people today ought to be more resourceful. No matter what the economic pressures are, you can always just TRY HARDER. Manifest your money! Just think it into REALITY! 😂 If this satire is inaccurate, then I implore Dave Ramsey to dedicate 1 week of shows to 211 low income working poor and homeless callers. At the very least, it would be spicy.
Theo never seems this well prepared. He’s so on point asking really great questions with this interview. Well done!
I get the hate for Dave Ramsey but not very many wealthy people have a clear plan to get your life back on track. I used to blow through money, I used to have consumer debt out the ass exceeding 70% of my yearly salary, and now I’m less than 15% total debt paying 800 a month extra to pay off my car as fast as possible. His plan works, and above all it gives you hope.
Awesome! Nice job.
Congratulations on getting rid of most of your debt!! The thing about Ramsey is you do NOT have to buy the books to learn his system. If you actually listen to his theories you can succeed!
What hate do you get?
@@ryanw6626 His advice is extreme. To someone who doesn't watch him, or only has seen negatively biased clips of him - he seems like a crotchety old man with an out of touch view on all things related to debt and personal finance.
My son who is 25 now started in lawn car at 14. He paid his expenses all through college. He Bought his first two cars cash. Now he has great job as an engineer, but kept his side hustle mowing lawns to pay off student loan debt and be outside. He is a worker. He had 14 lawns at one point. Half were commercial properties that pay better. Amazing how much he was making doing that.
I'm an adult mowing lawns right now. If you're not making $40/hr., you're just not trying. Lots of fools out there with giant rigs and a bunch of slow employees, I go solo and crush it.
@@charliedillon1400 awesome and that is the way to do it. Keep it simple and keep overheads down. Rock on!

Dave LOVED that he made Theo laugh with that “Baptist after a casserole” line.
Dave’s lessons changed my life completely - got out of massive debt real fast and built wealth - happened all in 8 years and I can’t thank him enough for the wake up call advice he gives.
This is like when The Flintstones met the Jetsons 😂
😆😆😆
Dave Ramsey CHANGED my life! Break free from the system and quit playing the bank's games.
You ain't the only one!
Changed my life and I'm glad for that, everyday I live.
same! paid off 3 credit cards and never looked back. the freedom is cathartic.
Same 😎
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ramsey’s as close to a good person as anyone. He genuinely aims to be and do good. Easy to fault his failures, tough to fault his felt intentions.
Dude his line up is wild. Theo is on a roll!
The fact they completely replicated his set is wild 😂
The brains on these two are built different.
That's for sure lmao. Brain rot and brain growth
@@joecota2644Theo is definitely a lot more intelligent than he lets on man or shows in his persona
@@Kaedynlimonhe is indeed, it’s an act and he’s good at it
This was an amazing interview!! theo can connect with people no matter who they are, its amazing
Great podcast. Dave has helped me out through my most desperate times. Sick and tired of being sick and tired. Plus he has a way of making you feel at ease, and you are going to make it.
Theo asking amazing questions…. His interviewing skills have increased immensely… love both of these guys
This podcast was needed. I listen to the Ramsey show EVERY SINGLE MORNING without a miss. I listen to Theo on lunch or on my drive home. This duo was God sent. I love both of these guys work. Praise God.
I took a Dave Ramsey finance basics course at a church, and it really did change my financial life for the better. I don't agree with all his political bias personality, but understanding an emergency fund changed everything. I just kept saving a very small percentage of every dollar that came at me, and eventually a good deal on a beat-up house popped up and I had enough for a down payment and collateral enough to get a mortgage. I feel like we all need to be finding ways to become owners rather than renters.
Always impressed with how Theo is such a great conversationist, never carries any notes. Very sharp indeed.
One of the SMARTEST dudes, giving the best advice for YEARS… AND Dave Ramsey!! 🤯
Didn't expect to see you here. Chale!
You need to call out mma guru
dude i’m 22. i love dave ramsey. THANK YOU THEO
Ur blessed to have found him at your age. As a 37 year old, I wish I would have had the discipline and plan Dave lays out (and actually followed it).

@@kingjoseph5901 oh yea I know. I’ve been following Ramsey for a while. Soon we’ll be down to 1 car loan, 1 student loan (about $20k each) and our house. So we’ve paid off credit cards, personal loans, and will have one car done in the next couple months. Just wish I would have found him at 22 and never had the car loans and personal loans lol
Starting at 14:30, that's real inspirational. I've been struggled to get a few different businesses up and running, and sometimes feel like I lack knowledge and am unsure where to find it. It's found in the struggle, actually doing the things I talk about and reflecting on what I learned. Thanks Theo!
Theo needs to do a debt free scream once he pays his house off lol
Dave has an amazing mind! How he answers questions in order, how his thought process works. He never looks like he’s thinking it’s wild lol
It's called hillbilly thinking baby.
I religiously watch both of these guys and seeing them together is insane
“what happens at Your House is way more important than what happens at the White House”
The chemistry between these 2 insane🤣❤ They also have a deadpan style of humour which makes the interview even more hilarious🤣
That trauma expert episode, Made me realize I needed help. Thank you Theo!
That episode was amazing
Every Fri tim aka trauma guy makes new content..
