I've been following your channel for years now. And the one thing I've learned is you have to chain up at times. There's a video from Winslow, Arkansas where there's a huge crash with semi's. And don't you know, from the video, I couldn't find one tractor with chains on!!! While I don't agree with it, I can understand why Commiefornia has the chain laws along with other states, it's basically because you can't count on people to be safe, many need to be told what to do. While I don't agree with government interference, my views parallel yours, but this video demonstrates why it's mother may I, unfortunately. Excitedly waiting to see the new truck your hoping to get.

Hey Mike. Don't know if you're aware of this are not but I thought I would pass on the information. A glider kit comes from the factory with a Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO) instead of a title. Also it does not have a 17 digit VIN . Therefore it will never be a Peterbuilt (or any other brand). Very similar to a custom motorcycle. It might have Harley Davidson parts but it will have a title that says ASPT meaning assembled from parts. That might be why many banks won't finance a glider. You might also look into wheather or not you can get insurance on it. Just food for thought.

Hello again! I like the idea of you getting your own truck and I hope the Pete is all you hope it to be. Bad time right now for trucking but it never lasts. I'd think it would be a buyer's market and hauling oil in the hills with that two stick reminds me of a few months I spent working in a quarry. Straight job old international which was a mystery to me when I got in it. It was all a repetition of loading under the hopper then driving up to the top of the stone pile and dumping it ... what was different was the weight of the load each time... it was a 4x5 I think and thing is after awhile when taking a run at the hill I got to know just the combination of gearing over time in that loose stone and got a gear that would carry me to the top with what was left of the speed for the climb. I suspect the Pete might have fewer ranges to chose from and wonder if it is the right equipment for that terrain. That being said nothing will hold you to running oil in the outback once the freight picks up on the big road where I suspect the Pete would last longer. I hated rough roads when I drove as the vibration tears up the equipment... But maybe air ride will limit that. I'm the guy you hear from now and then lamenting the days you rode thru the passes in fair summertime weather... I retake those trips with often as I see many others do by the view count. Might be old hands like myself that gets little pleasure when you drive on interstates often in bad weather where even riding shotgun we can't relax and enjoy the ride... even take our eyes off the road now and then to admire the view which we missed as drivers not able to take in the view. People think we get to see the country.. all we get to see is the roads, after a few times taking our eyes off the road and not liking what we see when we return to it gets us in the "white line fever" mode. Maybe when the economy recovers after the failure of those unfortunate start up companies and freight once again out paces the trucks you'll find a way to venture out that way again. Either way I feel a lot of us old hands will follow you thru the badlands or wherever you might travel.
