I have been an owner-operator/ small fleet owner since the early 70s( now retired) In this day and age this is not a good time to buy a truck, if you think you will make more money you will and it will all go to the truck. First even with a new truck you will have breakdowns and that will cost you t downtime, but the payment will not stop. Oil changes, when you get out of the truck your time will not be yours because you will have to do general maintenance on the truck. Like cleaning, ect. tires they will be an added expense, especially on those roads. In my proffesional opinion fine a good owner or company that won't have you working for the truck. You have been a good company driver and at the end of your load your home time is yours. That will all change. Trust me it is not all it's cracked up to be.
