7 Real Flying Machines That Actually Fly
----------------------
Flyboard Air
The Flyboard Air was designed to work with the human ability to balance, and as such can be flown without any pilot training whatsoever. It is powered by five turbines and is fueled by kerosene.

Jetman
The Jetman was developed by Swiss military-trained pilot and aviation enthusiast, Yves Rossy, driven by the idea of unaided flight. After more than a quarter of a century of research and innovation, the Alpha Jetman has finally achieved that dream.

Martin Jetpack
The Martian JetPack is powered by two ducted fans that provide lift and a 2.0-litre V4 piston 200-horsepower gasoline engine. It has been demonstrated to be able to fly for up to 30 minutes at speeds as fast as 56 km/h with maximum takeoff weight 320 kg.

Kitty Hawk Flyer
The Kitty Hawk Flyer was developed to help humans experience the ocean from a bird’s eye view. It was created with the use of an extremely aerodynamic and lightweight material which brings its weight down to a manageable 115 kilograms.

  • The Alpha Jet-Man is so cool. As young children we always dreamed of having a flight suit which by the way reminds me of the character Ace McCloud from the old 80s cartoon the Centurions. In the cartoon, Ace McCloud had a flight suit that’s very reminiscent of the Alpha Jet-Man. Also, being able to travel up to speeds of 407 kilometers which is like 253 miles per hour, is fast as hell especially when you’re traveling through the sky. What a rush that must be. The only down side to the Alpha Jet-Man is that you only have about 13 minutes of flight time but what an excellent 13 minutes that must be.

  • That #6 Martin Jetpack seems like the most useful. I could imagine it being carried on a truck or trailer and stationed near forest fire fighters. If it could fly to a trapped group of them autonomously or by remote and then accomplish an evac one at a time. Or carry an essential piece of equipment to them....Every "smoke jumper" would probably feel safer than only relying on helicopters to get to them in an emergency.

    @michaeljorgensen790@michaeljorgensen7903 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, but it's only useful for emergency services. I think that it is very big for flights in the city, so we can not use it for flight from home to supermarket. But I hope that one day we will be able to do this.

You aren't doing any vertical take offs with 88 pounds of thrust. "This was designed to give you a bird's eye view. It flies at an altitude of up to three meters."

  • So the Jet Aviation JB10 is what these pilots have been seeing flying over Southern California for the past three years! I figured that’s what it was that someone thru new materials tech finally solved the thrust, fuel, turbine engine issues of the past and using Kerosene is brilliant! That’s why they can get greater altitude and speed! Perfectly logical. I knew when I saw the first hand held turbine suit demoed in England a few years ago and using 3D printers it was only a matter of time!

  • You just need to charge most of them for a day for an amazing flight time of 10 minutes. Also its relatively cheap and can be readily be owned for just 200 thousand dollars. What's more they look absolutely safe apart from the risk of being minced from head to toe or being burned to a crisp. 👍👍
