Finally the Mclaren 720's is on the road, thanks to a little trick from Mclaren! It wasnt easy though from buying it crash damaged in Amsterdam to having to swap the whole tub and rebuild the 720s from scratch. Now ive got to finish it....

    • Matt's nature does motivate you like that doesn't it but just remember, Matt has "paid his school fees" with working on cars, meaning he has put the time in to have great knowledge/experience of cars, but also Google and other avenues in modern life help a lot to get it done. As Brandon said first, start with something cheap and see if it is something that you take to or it just gets tedious to you

  • Matt absolutely love your channels. I was an original Top Gear fan. Your channels have filled that void & more. I'm reminded of my younger days rebuilding cars with my mates in the Sydney suburbs. So many highs, lows, pranks, expensive lessons. Mayy stories are still told today! Your dad is a real character & could have his own channel but glad he & Matt part of yours!

  • I did comment that Freddie’s McLaren did the same thing when he first started his up (complete guesswork as I wouldn’t have a clue where to start when it comes to rebuilding a car) but I’m glad you’ve got it running and moving. Mat what an inspiration you are to so many, the attitude to never give up, that with every problem there is a solution is showing all generations not just the younger (I’m 50) to follow your dreams and with hard work and determination you can succeed.   • Besides just fixing and rebuilding a McLaren you managed to swap the whole setup to another shell which is ever harder. Taking every single piece and transferring it to the next shell even switching it from right hand drive to left hand. Congrats Matt 🤟💯

  • Wow. Again extensive amount of work and knowledge. Thanks. I have one question and don't remember if it has been sorted out : As the new tub comes from a race car (GT3 I presume) isn't there any issue in respect of homologation to get back on the road ? Of course the said tub may have a VIN but are race tubs considered as existing as far as road registries are concerned ? Or at worst you juste use the VIN of the original tub. Would be interesting to know.

  • Great work..tip for cars without dipsticks to set the oil level correctly , ,,,drain the oil ,change the filter , precisely measure out into suitable clean containers the correct amount of oil for an oil change as per the manual for an oil change , add it to the engine and away you go.
