  • You’ve seen nothing yet, sos is only a warm up song for Dimash. He takes the flowers to old folks homes or hospitals and hands them out to the patients after every performance. He sings in 15 languages, has a 7/8 octave range, plays multiple instruments, sings from rap to opera and is the loveliest most humble young man on earth. He is also THE best singer/performer on this planet ever, male or female. Welcome to our world of Dimash. 2 songs you need to check out now is stranger and ave Maria both from new wave 2021. Absolutely opposite of each other but it will give you a little more of a look at his abilitys. Believe me when I say sos is his favourite song and beautiful but it’s no where near his highest or lowest notes and every single note he sings is pitch oerfect

    • Totally agree. I was going to suggest both "Stranger" (for the massive range it shows) and "Ave Maria" (because I can't hear it without tearing up). They're two of my favorites, despite the variety of songs in his portfolio that also show off his capabilities. Honestly though, everything Igor Krutoy has composed with Dimash singing is amazing. John, it's worth checking out his entire ARNAU concert as well (whether that's reactions or just on your own time, as it's a LONG watch), as it gives a great overview of the range of styles Dimash can perform and how he often brings in Kazakh instrumentation.

  • The song originated in a French-Canadian rock opera in the '70s. Dimash discovered it as a 13 year old in 2007 when Gregory Lemarchal, a contestant on a French talent show, sang it shortly before dying at the age of 23. Gregory had cystic fibrosis but managed to win the show in spite of having to act, dance and sing with only 25 percent of his lung capacity. His performances of that song are quite emotional and Dimash, good hearted, kind soul that he is, empathized and began singing the song himself. Then, a few years ago, Dimash's good friend, fellow Kazakh citizen and champion Olympic figure skater, Denis Ten, was murdered at the age of 25 by a couple of guys stealing items off his car. So Dimash sings it in tribute to both Gregory and Denis, and with an understandable amount of passion every time.

Dimash does a full on metal scream at the end of his MV The Story of One Sky but I wouldn't send a newbie into that one to begin with. Dimash didn't write this one, it's from a 1970s rock opera called Starmania but if you want to hear something he composed himself then listen to War and Peace, which was part of his masters degree in composition.

You would love “Olympico” and “Stranger” which were written for him, and “War and Peace” which he wrote. After a few more songs, I’d recommend his short film/MV “The Story of One Sky.” It’s a very important anti-war film. He wrote the music and stars in it. His vocals in that song are truly insane. He became famous in 2017 singing sos in a chinese talent show. A retired russian composer (Igor Krutoy) heard him and understood there were very few song that could showcase all of his talents so he began to compose only for Dimash. All of these songs are absolutely incredeble. If there is a bald man at the piano on stage, that is Igor Krutoy. Stranger, Olimpico, Ave Maria, Love is like a dream, The love of tired swans, Know, Mmell Hyde, etc. Anyone of these are exeptional. then Dimash himself is a composer, War and Peace, Be with me, etc. Hope to see you soon, big hug from Uruguay!

  • This song is Dimash’s calling card. This song S.O.S d'un terrien en détresse/ SOS from an earthling in distress is the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears. This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer). The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice. * Original: Daniel Balavoine - SOS d'un terrien en détresse (Starmania) - kzhead.info/sun/bM-TpaigrIahq30/bejne.html That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to KZhead ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won). * Original: Daniel Balavoine - SOS d'un terrien en détresse (Starmania) - kzhead.info/sun/bM-TpaigrIahq30/bejne.html * Dimash - The Singer 2017 - behind the scenes (English subtitiles) - kzhead.info/sun/i5Vtf7uZiqKvnnA/bejne.html A few months after 'Singer 2017' and starting his world career as a megastar, Dimash sang this song here, as the guest of honor at the opening ceremony of the 'Slavic Bazaar 2018' competition. All of Dimash's performances end with his arms full of flowers; so many that he needs help to take them all. Dimash speaks Kazakh, Russian and English. He sings in 13 languages and plays 7 instruments. At the end he thanks and invites everyone to visit his country Kazakhstan.

I only just heard about him last week because I saw a title "Best Singer in the World" and thought, well, thats not possible to say that...now I actually believe it is. He got an award and promptly handed it to his mother on stage because he thought she deserved it more than him. She is an opera singer so has probably been very instrumental in bringing him to where he is now. Humble guy. Yes.

  • At the end he’s thanking this competition in Belarus, which he won in 2015. Here he’s been invited back as a guest in 2018. In 2021 he was one of the judges. He did a few guest appearances in 2021 as well and he received about 100 bouquets of flowers at the end of his first song! It was never ending! Dimash sings in all genres (obviously you noticed, in one song). He’s also extremely humble. This was 5 years ago, you should hear him today. he didn’t write this song it’s a cover from a French 70’s Rock Opera. He’s a brilliant composer as well though, and you will experience that in his more recent work. Dimash is from Kazakhstan (formerly Soviet Union), he sings in 13 languages and speaks Kazakh, Russian and English. He’s learning Mandarin. He’s a superstar in China. He sells out solo concerts all over the world, usually to audiences of 40,000. All his solo concerts (which usually last between 3 1/2 to 4 hours), are on his KZhead channel. Dimash, THE greatest vocalist of ALL time! Every performance will shock you, you have seen nothing yet! He’s incredible today (as if he wasn’t already here)! He is 23 on the performance you just watched, he will be 29 on May 24th 2023.

He is athletic, loving, giving and currently is living in L.A. (temporarily.) Studying at the L.A. branch of the N. Y. school of fine arts majoring in film directing. This comes on the heels of him having just completed his Doctoral Studies and Dissertation. He is brilliant, well read and is fluent in Kazak and Russian and getting much better with his English. He can sing it all from Opera to Michael Jackson to Heavy Metal. (probably not American country though) He is stunning in pretty much everything he sings and has a vocal range of over 7 octaves.
