Perhaps Medvedev is wrong about swearing, but he's right that the umpire didn't have to give him warning between first and second serve, he could do it after the point.
i never knew they could do this. they seem to always call it right after the incident.

Well because it's Tennis. You're to young to know how it really works deep down in the sport we call Tennis today. If it was Novak who said what Meddy also said crowd would have been even more upset and booed him even louder. Maybe throw some stuff on the court. If it was Fed who might have said "please be quiet" crowd would have cheered and rooted for Fed. I find it hilarious that people actually think this is unnecessary of Medvedev. It’s the fan’s fault for thinking they can heckle him and have nothing come back their way. If this wasn’t a tennis player nobody would complain about what he did.
Tennis is a fairly unwestern sport it seems.

Because we don't want children to hear the f word, it sounds very rude, being a master of noswear myself, I would never encourage children to hear the f word said, although they know what it means.

@@masteroflanguages4572 Of course it's important to know it's offensive, I am not a parent, but I do know children pick up swear words from hearing, the problem is, they then repeat the swear word- intentionally or not, which makes them just as bad as the person who swore, classic trap when someone is quoting, which is why as the noswear master, I usually trap some of my students like this!

Hecklers are always a pain in the arse but that’s what the umpire is there for. Absolutely no reason to get embroiled when you’re absolutely destroying your opponent and about to win the match. Part of my feels he likes the crowd to be against him at times. Either way, he’s a great player and the only one who can challenge Novak on these courts.
It's all good and well saying that, but the umpire did nothing. And players shouldn't have to put up with idiots in the crowd, regardless of the scoreline.
I can't blame Medvedev here, sometimes the crowd can be awful.
