I see him do very well against most baseliners. I would say among those he is top 1-3 ! Hard court definitely a force to reckon with. Hope for Zverev to come back. Then Alcatraz, Korda, Sinner - these can be amazing matches. Obviously Djokovic who is always there on top. Tsitsipas ? Sad story actually. His team seems to believe they re on the right path. Its gonna be a tough 2023 for him to finally awaken to the cruel facts.

  • Kind of feel sorry for the bsr right now 😁. Even though i do not appreciate him being a beta and quitting as he did in Astana vs Novak. Since that match, he kind of rubbed me the wrong way the way he simply quit that match under pressure when Djokovic fought back, i don't appreciate that kind of attitude, but, all that is happening to his country, is not easy. He is definitely not in the right place mentally right now, and how could he be. And as a Serb, it kind of is painful to see these Russian guys without the opportunity to play Davis Cup or some team competitions, i consider the Russian people a brotherly nation. Ukrainian people to. It's all so sad. I hope everything will calm down. I really do.

    @jokelot5221@jokelot5221 Жыл бұрын
    • 1) He said he felt a pop in his leg, and that's why he stopped in Astana. Granted, he probably should have taken a MTO, but he didn't. If he hadn't gotten hurt, I think he would have won. That was the best he had played all year. Like some burden was suddenly lifted off his shoulders.2) 2022 he had a hell of a year. Loses the AO, in a very hostile environment, which he could have won. The day he becomes #1 the country where he was born invades its neighbor. He's playing with a hernia, and finally has to have surgery to fix it, and misses 6 weeks. His wife is pregnant, and they never announce it until the baby is born. Most likely to keep people from harassing her. Through all this, he manages to make several finals, and wins 2 tournaments. 3) Yeah, I think the war has done a number on him. He left Russia when he was 17. 10 years ago with his parents. He has said that France/Monaco is home now. Yet, he still feels some loyalty to the country where he was born, and he and his wife still have family. What's he suppose to do? (As much as I would never want to go back to my hometown to live, it's still the place where I grew up.) The pressure last year on him had to be enormous. Every story had his name and picture as if he was the only player in that same situation. If he says the wrong thing or would decide to make a change of citizenship now, he would most likely make the list as an enemy of Russia. 4) He has a great memory. Some day, I hope he writes a book about 2022. But, here's hoping for a great 2023. He's my favorite player.

They must feel adrift, traveling around the world and probably getting unfriendly reception here and there, yet feeling impotent not having really a way to be proactive as they're with their hands tied basically. • Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth. WTA/ATP/ITF, stop this nonsense and do not mix sport with politics. Appointing "flag police" at the AO 2023 was not even childish... it was embarassing and insane... Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen. Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag? USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq. Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them. Another example; are Israeli (Para-)olympians responsible for the policy of their government towards Palestinians? * All wars are equal, but some wars are more equal than others.

It's crazy he's dropped as low as 12 but I'd be straight up shocked if he doesn't soon come back to top 5 and maybe even return to the top spot eventually, at least the top 2 or 3. Rios is a far better choice and even he's overhated as a #1 but I'd take Meddy over Rios for sure. Meddy is a solid player and was playing amazing tennis to earn the spot

    • @@AnthonyHirsch да эти рейтинги достаточно условные и иногда, не отражают таланта и игры игрока. Я думаю, что он будет ещё побеждать, он талантливый, умный, неординарный человек.

    • 2019 He made 6 consecutive finals including the US Open. He's made $27.7 million in prize money alone. He's earned his points and money like anyone else, but not too shabby for the worst no.1 player ever. I think there's a lot of players former and current who would love to have his career and that title.
