Low Profile Mechanical ARGB Keyboard MSI GK50 Low Profile the keyboard I can't stop loving and also can't keep it. Or can I? I am rarely this on the fence with a product, this is a new experience for me!

The MSI GK50 Low profile is as you would expect a low profile keyboard from MSI and is the upper mid range in the product stack and sits alongside the GK50 Elite which is very similar and close in price and features.
The Keyboard features full per key RGB lighting that can be controlled from the hotkeys or the Mystic light software or the gaming gear section in the dragon center.
the octagonal key caps have only 3mm of travel on the Kailh low profile switches and require slightly more force to type than for example a Cherry MX browns or Outemu reds.
The close nature of the caps could be problematic for the sausage fingered types, but those with more slender digits will be fine and will probably appreciate the tactile feel of the keycap and switch combo.
This one is really hard for me to call, I love the look and feel in general, the lighting is awesome and the tie in with my other MSI products makes changing lighting styles very easy and all in one package.
I am tempted to order the GK50 Elite just to see if it is a little easier on my digits, what do you think?

Nice review, I was going to buy the "Editors Choice" illuminated keyboard for Flight simulator 2020 which has all the keyboard commands printed on the keys, sadly though at £100 they can keep it and I will memorise the commands !!
that is a good idea for a business model, creating keycaps for fs2020
@@mikesunboxing Yes. There are some overlays but an illuminated keyboard with command overlays is a great idea, not at £100 though, I would gladly pay £70 so I reckon they are out with their pricing but what do I know!?
Oooooo well that looks like a pretty keyboard, certainly looks the part. For what is being asked of this money-wise its got some stiff competition to go up against. The lights certainly do look vibrant and bright. The mechanical keys sound clicky as they should and for a low profile keyboard it looks like it would be quite comfy to use even for us sausage fingered people. Thanks for the video Mike and Kath, Im sure that this will appeal to some especially the MSI fanboys/girls out there :-)

Very in-depth review, considering mech keyboards are long lasting and meant to be better quality and more expensive, if anything happens to the cable it’s a lot easier to repair it. Fight the e-waste!

Does anyone here know the function of the led indicator marked "G" to the right of the capslock led indicator on the MSI GK50 Elite? if on most keyboards the led indicator to the right of the capslock led indicator should function as Scroll Lock, but on this MSI GK50 Elite when I press the scroll button then the led indicator to the right of the capslock indicator led doesn't light up, please help me
the G button is the "gamer" mode and bascially disables the windows keys. press the G and the msi button together to active and again to deactivate
Can't figure out how to change to one color, The flashing lights make me ill.
you can use the hot keys on the keyboard or install the msi center and mystic light software for more options
My Razor Black Widow Elite is more stable than I am. 🤣 Oh, and you cost me $317 because I bought a B550 Unify. I tried to use your link, but for whatever reason the US Amazon wasn't having it. Perhaps double check that you link is good.

and sadly mine has been RMA'd already, the board refused to boot with a PCIE gen 4 gpu in the slot, fine with a gen 3 but not gen four? very odd?
@@mikesunboxing Something had to give, the price was too good you got it for Mike. Your B550 Unify had latest BIOS/AGESA and still had issues with PCIE4? Odd. I know populating a B550 board can rob you of vital PCIE lanes for other peripherals but don't know anything about breaking 4th gen PCIE capability of PCIE4 capable parts. I wonder if that's the situation for other people or is it unique to the board you got. I'd love to discus on discord but I have to go to job which takes up all my time during the week 😞 PS, there's supposed to be a quite recent AGESA update that remedies this. IF you haven't already processed the RMA, try getting a beta BIOS with AGESA 1201 and see if it helps Mike. See ya sir!

I bought it in December 21. Now March 23, the "A" button does not work normally. Constant misclicks and double clicks. I don’t know if this is a normal work period by the standards of MSI. But I've never had a broken keyboard in my life. Always used the cheapest without hesitation and everything was fine. Maybe I'm just unlucky but I'm very disappointed.
check for anything in the keyswitch that might be causing it, you can remove the switches pretty easily with a soldering iron and a new switch is about a £1
