The Dark Side of the Bitcoin Pharaoh | Cowboy Kings of Crypto
Who is the Bitcoin Pharaoh, AKA Glaidson Acacio dos Santos? Is this former preacher a crypto Robin Hood, and legitimate cryptocurrency investment broker, digitally redistributing wealth, helping the local ‘masses’ in Cabio Frio, Brazil profit from this new cyberspace gold rush, just like the white elites? Or is he a crook, a con artist, and a dangerous criminal crypto kingpin, violently controlling his territory and rightfully imprisoned, facing multiple charges of racketeering, money laundering, a host of other financial crimes, as well as 3 counts of murder. The answer you get to these questions will depend on who you ask.
This episode of Cowboy Kings of Crypto was made in 2022.

Always find it incredible when people put greed before common sense. If it looks too good to be true then typically it is.
That's to the systemic poverty required for capitalism to have every increasing rate of profit. Scams(and unionization) are the only way the average rabble can make themselves rich.
In Brazil, people who attend churches like Universal just believe anything their pastor says… there is no common sense.

This is Brazil. This video is a perfect summary of the stupidity of many that lives in this country.

Bob's your Uncle.
Funny how people are distrustful of banks, highly regulated institutions, that have to release to the public annual balances, etc, but they'll trust a guy like this...
lesson to be learned - when greed wants its share, it takes a big piece of the pie.
As much as I understand, by definition Crypto Currency is unregulated and it's hidden away from the defacto banking systems that currently exist in countries around the world. You can't demand anything from anybody using it (ie rules and regulations)... So in some places, yeah, you'll have unscrupulous thieves and such. Although you can request fair use so to speak but you kind of have to have faith amongst the people who you deal with. These systems are obviously flawed, just as our country's banking systems are flawed. Except that we do have _some_ protection, despite the inherent unfairness... I dunno, I'm no expert. I just use both and both I like and detest in equal measure for different reasons...
On a different note: my friend began mining Bitcoin as soon as it was invented in 2009! Back when it was literally worthless. By 2014 he'd amassed £5million worth of Bitcoin. Then around then there was (I think?) two crashes in value. And he decided to cash in (at completely the worst time!), though he still made £3million± out of his mining. Lastly, it helped to destroy his mental health too! Basically living in a small room at his mum's house in constant darkness (curtains drawn all the time!). Didn't ever go out, didn't wash, had no real friends left etc... Interesting how it fucked him up. It just seems to have made him into a very rich, unhealthy, dirty recluse with enough money to never work. Though he never does ANYTHING! I mean his life hasn't changed that much from when he had nothing, except he's just more unhappy and scared. It's odd.
"in the brave new world of cryptocurrency, the msot valuable asset is trust" That's completely antiethical to the very idea of cryptocurrency ahahaha

All I can say as a brazilian is...... in brazil the banana eats the monkey !!!
But he is kinda right, no ? This is not a pyramid scheme, is a ponzi scheme
Brazilians do not grasp what actually is a Ponzi scheme. For them , any get rich quick scheme is a pyramid scheme. For America pens, at least the ones who understand thr baseline essentials , a pyramid scheme is a multi level marketing scheme. Like selling Amway Soap and toiletries. The money isn’t in soap. It is in moving up people in the chain by recruiting other. The profit is in “ selling the method “. What they see as a pyramid scheme is what we call Ponzi scheme , where you take money from an unsuspicious investor and pay him out with the proceeds garnered from other “investors “, without ever having invested the money. Ask anyone there who is Charlie Ponzi, or Bernie Madoff , no one will know who they are. And those aforementioned fleeced American and European Investors.
