  • Just so everyone knows, Nicolaas Du Preez actually lifts conventional and this was part of his accessory lifts.

    • @@headshot9611more people are capable of pulling 500lbs than you may realize. I'd say the incredibly average yet healthy man, on average, would be able to achieve 1000-1200 on the main conventional lifts with years of consistency, dedication, and proper nutrition. Add in genetic factors like height, weight, and body composition, that's why powerlifting exists. Because despite the memes, the truth is that everybody wants to lift those heavy ass weights.

  • Everyone saying sumo is cheating should first think if the subject is building strength for a standard lift or getting muscle hypertrophy. Because if its the latter, sumo deadlift is as cheating as doing partial reps or drop sets.

    @mfd1993@mfd1993 Жыл бұрын
    • Lots of ppl say sumo is actually better for hypertrophy, it doesn't interfere with both upper and lower body, you can lift heavier even tho you are lifting with a bit less rom, and it's less taxing on the body overall, and it's easier to reach faliure(or close to it) without breaking form I can certainly attest to this, I can't program conventional since I do upper lower, but i can easily program sumo since it leaves my back nice and fresh
