    • Pretty much. As long as there are QBs throwing for 4,000+ yards and 40 tds, or throwing for 3,000 while rushing for 1,000 with 40 or more combined tds, I doubt a pure defensive players is going to come remotely close to a Heisman. Not to mention there seems to be a sort of eastern bias in regards to Heisman winners. Mariota is the only one I can readily think of from recent years that came from a school west of the Mississippi that wasn't in Oklahoma, Texas, or California.

When they get into the pro’s people get faster, and now they’re getting tackled, hit, and injured, which can end their career early.

  • Troy Smith against Michigan State the heisman year, the one play on like the 8 going in, the left side of the pocket collapses, straight shakes the defender pumps and throws a dart into the back of the end zone for the TD. I never saw anything like it before. I mean I have seen people try, but never do it so perfectly, like he had eyes in the back of his head, similar to the Manziel play minus the fumble. I grew up a USC fan so 3 of my guys are on here, but that is the play that I will remember my entire life out of all these guys, and maybe the Reggie Bush cutback against Fresno state.

  • As soon as I saw "One Fluke Season" I was like "oh that's for Tebow." It's a shame really, I do think he had the physicality to do exactly what Taysom Hill does awesomely, but I think he had way too much pride to settle in that third-string "you might get one or two plays" role. I guess if you can get paid just as much to shout your opinions at a camera, why not?
