That copper wire zigzag and solder fill-in is the way to go, for sure.

Thanks for sharing another trick to use the PCB standoffs, I have a few of them. Its great to use the PCB standoffs to lift up the PCB.

Using those motherboard standoffs is a great trick - Long ones can be found inside most cheap chinese IP cameras. There's 8 of them or more if PoE, and they have the fitting nuts in there as well, and you can screw them together to increase height. I thought I was the only person that used them for that purpose! - Great tips as always, especially with the copper-wire multipin desolder technique. I use this weekly. The thing I don't like the fact that your soldering skills make me look like I wear mittens whilst doing mine! - Your technique is perfect. As for flux on the braid, why the hell didn't I think of that? - Great tip.

Just found your channel recently, and I have to say it's the best by far I've seen for soldering tutorials!I I've been getting back into electronics again recently and decided to treat myself to a soldering station, proper branded solder/flux etc. I'd forgotten how enjoyable it is. I used your wire trick yesterday for swapping a bunch of pin headers to the other side of the board ;-) I hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, but would you be able to make use of a bottle of flux cleaner? Back story - I always struggled to remove the residues from the flux-cored wire I use, so I bought a litre of "Total Clean 300" from Warton last month. It sort of helped, but it turns out the problem was the flux - I then bought some of Warton's own cored wire, and it comes off cleanly with just isopropanol. So I'm left with nearly a full bottle of the cleaner stuff! Trying to find anyone who would be able to make use of it.

Hi there! Greetings from Bulgaria. I've been using flux RMA-218. It's a great flux, but the cleaning is very tedious because the flux is really sticky. Could you recommend me an universal flux which flows well and the cleaning is atleast more easy than mine. P.S. I've been using toothpicks for the barrel cleaning 😅

OK SO I see the desoldering trick with braid is - iron has to be tinned a bit first just to connect tin from tip with tin from holes right ?

Can't seem to find the products you use in the USA, especially the rework flux you show in your videos. Is there a comparable product I can order from the states?
Hi , thank you for your comment , much appreciated. The flux I have used for many years, SMFL200D has become discontinued a few months back but I had a small stock of it that's kept me going for now . I will post on KZhead when I find a suitable alternative. In the States the main suppliers DIGIKEY and Mouser stock everything you need for PCB work , they will help you out if you contact them as they are very , very good firms . I use them for ordering parts and their stuff arrives in England 2 days later. Good luck with your search and thanks again , take care 👍
