This is why Ford and Chevy can’t sell cars you cannot improve on perfection of the Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord. There’s a reason you never see these cars advertised they don’t have to.
Toyota & Honda are far from perfection
@@MickeyR6 True but closer than the competition
The fact that Toyota has done their engineering magic and made the 2025 Camry Hybrid braking feel feel like a normal gasoline car's braking feel is fantastic! wow now I gotta buy a 2025 Camry!
To be fair ford and chevy never even tried. Fusion was a great car and ford completely starved it to death
and funny how Camry is now the "fun" or "stylish" option versus the Accord... Accord used to be the driver's choice of the two
It's nice that you can get that kind of fuel mileage in a Camry. It's a nice option for people for whom an EV won't work and its less expensive than an EV. A very viable alternative.
Most importantly it is reliable and good reputation on used market when you eventually change it for something.
And value retention
Make sedans great again. Good looking car.
Still driving my 2005 Camry. Solid as a tank. Leather interior is near perfect with over 350,000 kms. Still get 28 city & 32 hwy MPG. 70 Liter gas tank. Toronto, Canada
My ‘05 has 300,000 miles ❤️
if I didn't need the boxy cargo area and higher seat height of an SUV, I'd actually consider the Camry for my next car!
2005 ?..that's why..that time all were good..even Honda was good...I regret getting 2012 Camry as from that time Toyota started focussing on cost cutting only..it is evident with all redesigned models from that time
Camrys are the best bang for the buck. Run for ever!
Used to be anyway. We shall see with this model.
@@FM-gv7sb Hybrid Camrys of the past always did as well I’ve seen some used as taxis with 400k miles.

The only reason I didn't buy a hybrid earlier was because I heard the hybrid braking feel is weird and spongy and grabby. Now that it feels normal in the 2025 Camry Hybrid, I'm buying it!
@@sachinnair91 I had a 2023 Corolla Hybrid that I drove for 8200 miles. There was absolutely no problem with the braking.
Camry and Accord are keeping the sedans alive! Hello Ford and Chevy, look at all the market share you are missing out on. Japanese sedans forever!!!
Beautiful car. It’s almost as elegant as the Crown and better in some instances.
Best all purpose vehicle on the road.
Will sell like hotcakes
Definitely. I mean, haters are still gonna hate, but this is the best looking, best driving, best technology, and best value packaged mid size sedan on the market now. Can’t beat that.

if you have no taste maybe.

No it won't. Sedans don't sell anymore, the Accord is getting its ass kicked by the Subaru Crosstrek in sales
😊😊 My 2017 Pearl White xle camry I bought new now has 205k on it, runs and drives and looks like new still. Other THAN OIL CHANGES, 4 sets of tires only 1 set of front brake pads I put on last summer everything else is stock and untouched. It's amazing how it just keeps running smooth as silk. I prefer to drive this over my new 4 runner bulk of the time. Money well saved couldn't go wrong!!!!

Reliable, beautiful design. What not to like it's a great Toyota

That front is hideous 😂
Looks like a Kia or Hyundai airport rental. They really went too far with the front end.
Toyota ecvt isn’t a cvt in the traditional sense, it is a planetary gear system
Where can people learn technical details on that?

I drive a 23 Camry Hybrid LE. Gets 50 mpg and about 38mpg to 45mpg in the winter. Paid about $32,000 after a couple add ons ( Heated steering wheel / heated seats and paint protection ) One of the best purchases I've ever made. Super smooth ride, wonderful gas savings and super well built. I'm about 34,000 miles in. The 25 Camry looks like a slick upgrade. I LOVE the look. But that's just it. The 25 Camry gets the same MPG as my 23 Camry. That was one of my main reasons I picked it. The 25 Camry does the same as my 23 Camry, but wow it looks significantly better. What a beauty! There's definitely some other upgrades I like here. But it's not enough to make me trade my car in for this. I absolutely LOVE what Toyota did with this. Hybrids are the way to go FOR NOW. ( In my opinion ) until this battery range issue and charging infrastructure gets sorted out. I must say tho, if they released this new Camry and it got 60 to 70mpg, I absolutely would trade mine in a heartbeat. I could have gotten a Prius to get even better MPG, but the Camry is just more spacious. Great review! Thanks for video. I know I just said a lot, but just thought I'd add to the conversation. 🙂
Will sell like absolute hotcakes, best in class sedan
lol
Facts!!
The enthusiasm the two of you have for what you are doing, car and truck reviews, is genuine. The entire on screen TFL crew members are always a joy to watch. The new Camry is going to reduce demand for the Prius. I really liked the last car, briefly shown, with the red interior.
No its not. Nobody looking to buy a mid-size car will buy a compact car.
Actually, the Corolla hybrid will really reduce demand for the Prius.
@@krane15damn bro those biceps are cannons!!! Great job you make us young guys look like little girls hahahha
The thing nobody ever mentions about 16" rims is you'll get better mpg, lower NVH, less tire wear, and better ride comfort. Large rims creates more problems than it solves. This is coming from someone who used to hop up Civics back in the day. Oh yeah, you also get worse acceleration
You copied someone else’s comment from another video
@@dabiri69This comment is on every video of these now lol
Yeah. Made sure on my Rav4 prime to get 18 and not 19.
Giant rims on regular cars is one of the dumbest trends - and that's saying a lot, as we have some dumb trends (see SUVs and Crossovers).
Even if copied, he's right. Big rims-small tires make the ride harsher and bumpier.
Personally, I would take the Prius because of the hatch. But if I were doing 1-3 people on long road trips all the time, I would imagine the Camry would be better suited, larger cars do tend to cruise better.
Absolutely
Better crash safety in the camry. Just based off it being a longer and wider car
Exactly - I wish they would make this a hatch/liftback. Even better a proper wagon without lifting it or making it too bulbous.
@whymaniawhy the hatch decreases the structural rigidity. Sedans are fun because of how solid they feel. I almost never carry anything larger than a huge haul from the grocery store. The new prius barely has any added cargo room compared to this, even with its hatchback design because it's so much shorter and especially with the more slopping design. A wagon would be nice, but everyone loves their ground clearance for some reason these day.
@@MB-jz3uu That's 40 year old thinking on the rigidity issue. Plenty of extremely sporty wagons and 4 door hatches out there where nobody is claiming a lack of structural rigidity - see Porsche Panamera. Not that the Camry target market is obsessing over this, LMAO. Good for you for not wanting space. It's hard to escape the conclusion that Toyota wants to push you into one of their crossovers if you want that space. The Prius is a hatch, but has lost a lot of its interior space. The Corolla is available as a hatch - but not if you want the hybrid AWD that isn't the lifted and cladded Corolla Cross.
I love the new motto. However, you guys really are the best and I do really love the long length videos. Andre lowers my blood pressure and makes me smile.
FYI, the above 50 mpg is not new for Camry. The current 8th Gen 2024 base Camry LE Hybrid already does 51/53/52 mpg.
About to be Motor Trend Car of the Year
Tired of hearing "sedans are dead". By that logic sports cars, coupes, and "compact trucks" died in 2011, minivans in 2018, and no manufacturer should bother making any more. Everything is cyclical. Sedans /hatchbacks/ wagons still sell a ton, and that market share percentage has actually increased over the past year. They're cheaper to own and operate than the CUVs and SUVs with the same amount of seats, far better looks and proportions, and have better handling from a lower center of gravity. Objectively better in many ways. In this economy where people are cost conscious all it takes is for people to take a real hard look and realize they don't need to spend a premium on completely unused cargo space, unused seating, towing, and ground clearance.
Pretty much the only thing you can buy are CUVs it's so obnoxious - to me anyway.
Great review fellas
Thank you for watching. Appreciate it.
how does it compare to Accord hybrid touring?
Missed opportunity by not asking Mark about the lack of the TRD trim. 😮
They changed the wiper blade attachments, the old Camrys like my 2015, have a J-Hook like wiper arm and blade attachments. Now they use a clip like wiper arm and blade attachment kinda like on luxury cars and most European cars.
Looks more like a strong refresh not a full on redesign.
Hi Roman and Andrey. Thank u for the nice review of a new Camry. Never heard of that saying you mentioned on 17:33 though i live in Russia. I liked the two-tone coloured body but the red interior is not the one i would choose to buy.
To offer up a correction the Malibu is still being produced and Chevy hasn't announced a date to discontinue it. That being said. It might as well get discontinued because it's not like Chevy pays attention to it. If they would update the interior and give it AWD with a couple of different powertrain options sales could pick back up. At least compete with Nissan, Hyundai and Kia. Chevy gave up too much market share to compete against Honda and Toyota.
Are the head rests soft or hard, and fuel tank size?
The crown did good on the slip test tho. That has a similar engine. The prius has economy tires which can switch things up slightly too. Getting rid of the axle and differential gets rid of more things to go wrong
I see the Signia in the back there. Did you get to drive them too?
The place you lay your leg against when driving is it hard plastic or a soft padding?
Good video
I like the red and black interion. I'm sure the exterior design will grow on me over time.
Heated steering wheel button is the center one on the center panel. You turned on and lower without noticing lol
Thank You
The infotainment is integrated to the dash. Nice.
Quit wining about volume knobs, people use the steering wheel controls for volume.
Hard disagree.
@@notsodelusional As do I. Its ridiculous. Not to mention, passengers use the radio controls too.
Do you guys thought about Ike Gauntlet hybrids? Maybe PHEV? Looking forward for Prius Prime Ike Gauntlet test.
We tried a car Ike Gauntlet a long time ago, and it was not popular. Also, the Prius does not tow much...
Really liked the interview with the engineer. lots of good info straight from the horses mouth. May have missed it, but does the transmission have a 1st gear "launch gear" separate from the CVT ?
Toyota's ECVT does not have a belt. It has two electric motors and the gas engine connected to a planetary gear. Basically it's a direct gear drive.
@@toytech5201 Thanks !! Totally different from the early CVT's I guess. The various reviewers seem to like it.
I've never seen many talk about the eCVT. When people talk cvt it's always about a belt with 2 pulleys, and then I heard about Toyota doing a launch gear for a little bit to help torque and lessen wear on the cvt belt
Hi TFL, you did not mention it is a 5th generation hybrid. Also, I must say that the interior looks more upscale. Camry is still selling around 300k in the USA and about 600k globally. Of course, COVID supply shortages have caused sales delays and Toyota waited 7 years to come out with gen 9. Almost forgot Toyota Camry is extremely reliable.
What a wonderful new design! Camry is always bringing us something new model year ❤
It's the same car from the side they just changed the front and back and interior
Looks good in the Reservoir Blue
will this be the basis for the 2025 lexus es300h or will it derive from the new toyota crown?
Roman and Andre, Let's hope Toyota's battery production has risen to the level to meet demand for the 100% Hybrid Camry as well as all the other existing models. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
I'M an American and would love the US market sell BYD NIo XPENG etc! The tech innovation on Chinese evs is advance and affordable at $30k. The BYD Seagull $11k. vs US $70K. But, our protectionist US regime w/ fake capitalism is to scared of competition. Hurts consumers.
Best car hands down! The design is amazing!
They ruined the front end. Copied Kia and Hyundai.

I love how it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. My 2015 Camry doesn’t have that. And a Hybrid with AWD is nice to have.
Even my 2018 Lexus doesn't have it, they didn't make it standard until I think 2020 even in Lexus land. I gotta buy an aftermarket kit to get AO/CP 😢
By the numbers, can one say the sedans are going the way of the Dodo? I think 200K+ units sold in a year counters the assertion. I think Toyota knows what they’re doing, by offering something for everyone! 😜 Thank for posting!
Toyota is on a roll lately.
This Camry looks hot, especially with awd, and priced very well.

@Nightshade1881 honestly it depends on your preferences. I'm not really a fancy tech guy so my Camry TRD fits me perfectly. But if you do want one with all the bells and whistles, I go for the newer model camry. If I didnt have a camry now, I wouldve bought the new ones myself tbh lol
can I get an XSE with the 18" wheels and WITHOUT the black spoiler?
Updated interior is all we really needed, but overall it looks great
Yes! Ford and Chevy made a HUGE mistake by eliminating sedans! I didn't care so much for any GM sedans but owned a 2018 Ford Focus Titanium sedan for a brief period and absolutely LOVED IT! Great audio system, sunroof, keyless entry, automated parking, blind spot alerts in the side mirrors, lane keeping assistance, leather, 18" wheels, heated seats and wheel...it literally was a VERY LUXURIOUS small car and was strangely quick too! The 2.0L Ti-VCT engine was at least a second or more faster to 60 than a friend of mines 2018 Chevy Cruze w/ the 1.4L turbo which surprised me. I couldn't imagine what Ford could have come up with for future sedans being that one I had was so nice! Unfortunately, they decided to stop making sedans as they thought everyone wants a crossover or SUV, neither which interest me at all. I suppose it is what it is.
These guys are easily the best in the business. They make it fun to watch & learn. Always entertaining.
I wish you guys had talked more about the driving Dynamics
Straight and level. You're welcome.
Look at Andre with his smart sunglasses. I think that’s how he “remembers” all the stats. Lol
not being all new could be a HUGE plus for a buyer looking for a reliable new car. Reusing platforms and parts that they've already had 5 years to refine and fix means fewer things to go wrong. Means more parts are already available on the market for faster, more affordable repairs. This could be one of the most reliable Camry generations in the past few decades.
Any info on 2025 Rav4? when to expect?
Quarter four 2024.
Well may be it will continue
The exterior isnt too bad but its also not great. Accord looks better to me design-wise but if i was in the market, I think I would go Camry. Their hybrid drivetrains are tried and true and I trust them more.
That car is huge looking; like a Lincoln town car from back in the day
You obviously have never actually have been in a Lincoln Town Car if you think they are close in size.
@@matthewhuszarik4173 looks close to me!
@@BestDraftClass My best friend always had new Lincoln town cars back in the 70’s and 80’s. The back seat was over two feet between the back seat and the front seats. You could easily sit four abreast in the back seat with more room that three abreast in a Camry. A foot print closer to the size of a full size pick up (F-150 length from 17.4’ - 20.8’) than a mid sized sedan. A 5000# car that was 19.5’ long with a 10.5’ wheel base in 78. A Camry in 23 is 3600# and 16’ long with a 9.3’ wheel base.
I love Reservoir Blue
Blue with some purple.
Either of those 19's would look great on my Matrix.
So we dont really ever get major cost of living improvements overtime. So one could predict youre going to need a 45+ MPG vehicle to approximate the same fuel costs today in mid 20 MPG vehicles. So i suppose we can expect 6-7$/gallon prices in the next few years or less.
0:02 That’s a shot for wheel thief 😂
Can I ask you a question? When's the new Lexus ES coming out because I know the Toyota Camry and the Lexus ES are on the same platform, please find out what's going on with the new Lexus ES🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Same here. Waiting for the hybrid version to replace my 17 ES350. Just bought my wife a new NX350h, our first hybrid and loves it.
@jml9550 Yeah, I want to get one with the hybrid. What's the F Sport package? Hopefully, Lexus does the same thing that Toyota does.
@@dujuanlove6935 F sport package is a sportier handling and appearance package. I think Lexus will put the Turbo 4 as the standard ES350 and continue to offer hybrid as the ES300h.
When it comes to options, e.g. awd on any trim you like, a dealership told me that's not the case. They said the model trim options and configurations they get are decided by Toyota and not them. In other words you only have selections that reflect what Toyota thinks best matches desires in your region. For San Diego somehow this leads to almost all configurations shipping with black interiors, the worst for a warm climate.
2-tone looks best!
No heater wheel????
The Sedan is Dead. Long Live The Sedan! - An SUV is not for everyone. Toyota knows this and their attention to detail in this refresh demonstrates that.
You forgot to ask the chief engineer if there will be a TRD version
Sad these are built in America and not Japan. Are there any specific trims that are build in Japan?
It's so weird to see all of these Camry videos using the road I drive on every day. Kinda neat Toyota picked this location to showcase the car but I wonder what exactly they were trying to show off here?
A Camry Prime would be awesome
We have not heard anything official about the Prime version yet.
Stop making things up, there is no Camry Prime, as the line isn’t made for such purpose. Maybe Camry TRD
Great review guys, but what is with that stutter? Is your camera set to 20 frames per second?
LOL...looks like you guys did donuts in the lot!
I love TFL, but The absolute wrong guys to be reviewing this car 😂 this isn’t a 4WD truck or suv, it’s a no nonsense sedan that will sell like crazy for those that still want a sedan.
I would think the AWD is the same RAV4 Drivetrain.
I really do like long reviews
Thank you for watching!
Only complaint I have: they stopped making the Avalon in favor of the Crown. Literal “Toyota, take my money!” situation this spring for me. Instead I’m looking at a used Lexus ES when I’d be perfectly happy with the Avalon brand new.
We had a few year old es350..nice car, kind of a boat, 3.5l is silky smooth and actually was pretty quick for an old man car.
Roman: Its the way of the world now jus accept it. Thoughtful consumers: I dont think I will..
Best color I have ever seen. Looks like a sports sedan from BMW.
The 51 MPG is for the basic LE trim. The XSE and SE look sick and I'd rather take the combined 44 mpg and better looks
OMG these have the rear end design of BMWs in the Bangle era...the Bangle butts that everyone hated.
I must be getting old. I'd consider buying one of these.
i can smell the $10k markups already
First, tell Toyota. Second, servers you right if you pay it.
Paddle shifters for regen and lazy foot
That white one actually looks really good 🤔
Roman is wrong at 1:37. Compact and mid-sized sedans are making a come back because of fuel prices and higher insurance. SUV's/Trucks are getting way too expensive to maintain and thus all small to mid-size sedans are going to sell more than SUV's. All other car makers who dropped their sedans are going to be in a world of hurt. Ford, GM, etc.
What’s the blue color?
Ocean Gem
Just a great car. Plain and simple.
I love what they've done with the Camry, but I just cannot do a cvt when there are still options to that. I still like sedans and this leaves only Mazda (I think) for a Japanese built, non-cvt sedan, and they're down to only one now. I guess the day is coming when I'll have to relent.
Mazda hasn't made the Mazda6 in 3 yrs, there are rumors of it bringing it back, but who knows. The eCVT in the Toyota hybrids are the most robust part of the powertrain, it's never going to fail.
The ECVT is not your traditional belt driven CVT from the past. You should do some research it’s a fantastic transmission.
Its gears..its not belts.. tfl still doesn't explain this stuff correctly.
@@happycampers.1837 I'm not concerned about their reliability. I know all about them, I've done tons of research AND, more importantly, I've driven them. I know they have a launch gear, etc. I still don't like the way they feel.
The best Camry in my opinion are the 2012 to 2014. Back seat is better and the performance was very good with the V6. I've owned a 2013 and 2014 V6 and loved both. I rented a 2021 and thought it was most definitely a down grade. The SE V6 2013 was a real sleeper.
