Even in his interviews after this match he mentioned how it reminded him of some of the toughest battles he had vs Nadal, what better way to show respect than those memory winks... but we have to remember Alcaraz is only 20 and Novak is in the last years of his career (like it or not, he is not gonna be playing forever). What a great guy and champion Carlos is at the age of just 20. He is the whole package in what you'd want to make a perfect tennis player. Novak now has a real and imminent threat to his status as the best currently in the game. Djokovic is just unreal, still. People forget that these Masters finals were five setters until 2008 and he has played and won more longest battles than anyone aside from Open matches. Stats aside, this alone makes him the GOAT! What a match and credit to Djokovic for just hanging on and proving he's ready for anything.

Nole was humbled at wimbledon but now he beats Carlos in Cincinnati, they have a fun rivalry going on, one player nearly retiring and one player just starting to shine. But i think they both really like and respect eachother, ive never seen a player smile as hard as alcaraz was when he lost when him and nole were standing next to eachother showing their trophies, and i reckon nole said “this is revenge for wimbledon” or something along those line, great players, great personalities

    • @@SSR3010 There are toxic fans among us Novak fans as well lol. No fanbase is completely free of idiocy. To be fair tho, I feel like many of Novak's toxic fans are only like that to fight fire with fire after so many years of abuse from Fedal fans and us having to stay silent because Novak was not on top of the Slam race. Still, it's no excuse to hate on any of these legends themselves. I appreciate all of what Fed, Rafa, Nole, and now Alcaraz bring to the table!

    • @@raymondfan2402 I agree with your statement towards Fedal but I've not seen Novak fans mock Alcaraz.A true Novak fan appreciate him for on and off court demeanor. That kid is raised right, I love how well mannered he is. Always gives respect to his seniors. During change of sides he waits for his senior to cross first to the bench and many such other things.

    • @@SSR3010 Well, I have definitely seen some diehard Novak fans mock Carlos. I don't know why, maybe they feel threatened by Alcaraz's rise or they dislike that many Fedal fans have gotten behind Carlos in a bid for him to overthrow Novak's reign. But thats sport for you. Those kinds of fans will exist in every fanbase lol I don't think they detract from the legacy that any of these athletes have built up. All they do is create more toxicity and hate between sports fans. I agree though, a true Nole fan and a true sports fan would not engage in childish behaviors as such. But you could say the same about a "true fed fan" or a "true rafa fan" as well. I don't think any one is inherently better than the other. Perhaps in reality a slightly higher percentage of fed fans are more toxic, but I don't really care to make that argument as its stupid and pointless.

  • The single best thing of tennis is the utterly truth that only one can win, meaning that no matter how hard you trained over the years and how much sacrifice you made for this sport you love, you might still lose, and therefore the real beauty is that if you lose when you believe you shouldn't have, will you come back? Tennis is a true test of a man's character. One dreamed big, work hard, and lose in the final. The dream was shattered, but one never ever gave up, always came back stronger, and eventually won. Tennis is all about how to treat hard loses, shattered dream, the worst day in life and still come back undeterred.

  • Tennis is more than a sport. It is a way of life and teaches you life. That is what makes it so beautiful. Every single shot is different, and one has to navigate the waves, the highs and lows, and keep fighting, no matter the score. It teaches humility, confidence, bravery, patience, grit and determination. It teaches you everything you need in life. Its combination of both mental and physical strain makes it so special. One is fully alone, out there fighting one to one against someone for hours on end in unbearable heat. That's tennis.
