Absolutely incredible final and a great advert for woman’s tennis. That stadium should have been full. Swiatek, Sabalenka and Rybakina are really starting to form a “big 3” of the WTA and I’m here for it.

Wow... Two straight years the fans in Madrid have been treated to a tremendous three-set final between these two ladies. They've given their all on these clay courts.
Even I as a big Swaitek fan thinks it's boring when she crushes opponents in finals. Watching her win a battle like this felt so good.

I know 1GA won and yet when I'm watching the highlights I still can't recover from emotions - what a duel!!! How they are able to keep their cool and focus and play at this level is some sort of superpower. For 1GA fans, we can all agree - life is def better with her than it was without her :) Fighting spirit of 1GA is nothing but inspiring.

Crazy crazy match, and I loved every second of it. Both fought until the last point, Sabalenka seemed to have the upper hand but Iga simply refused to lose. Final stats showed no significant difference between them, in terms of serve percentage, winners, or UEs. I hope they play many more matches like this. Beautiful day for women's tennis !

This has to go down as one of the most enthralling match between the top two seeds of WTA in a long long time. It was electrifying, thrilling and absolute best performance from both of them.

Best match of the year. The quality is indcredible! Finally we have another dominant players on the WTA tour, after having Serena,Sharapova,Azarenka, etc.
Azarenka was never a dominant player and went 6 years between reaching GS finals.
Neither was Sharapova. She never won multiple slam in a year & neither she ever finished a season as no #1.

Kerber needs just one French open title to achieve career slam but she never dominate the sports. Legends like Seles, Henin & Hingis didn't have achieved career slam but they were more dominant than Sharapova. Sharapova was never undisputed no #1 in any season.
Dominant for me is weeks at Number 1. Serena from your list makes the cut.

um but anyways saby lost due to her errors anyways..now at 7-8 she would have levelled 8 all so for that iya has no credit as such.. and at grand slam level sabalenka has more consistency than any other player.. cuz swiatek is just clay clay and clay.. no good performance at aussie and Wimbledon..on the other hand saby won aussie, french open semi(although lost due to her mistakes) to muchova,wimbled semi abd us open final.. this is more consistent play.. cuz afterall a player is judged by slams..not by small events

Best final of the year by far. Both did awesome job. Aryna was close, but just went for too much in tiebreak and paid the price in the end. Swiatek is easily the favourite for another RG title.

This Mutua Madrid was really a legendary WTA tennis tournament from beginning to the end. It was definitely a heroic final encounter which was competed between Swiatek and Sabalenka. Furthermore, it was one of the most breathtaking showdowns in women's tennis of 2024 season with its quality, versatility and performance. Top-flight tussles and offensive rallies were smoothly played. Sabalenka was eager to extend her reign in this reputable tournament from 2023 in order to become two-time defending champion. This time, Iga Swiatek was ready to take the revenge of the vanquishment of Madrid Open final from the last season. Polish tennis competitor has demonstrated a more robust, resolute and perseverant performance throughout the whole tourney, saving the championship points, gaining the crucial winner points, leading the shots to the different zones and delivering her diversity within this phase. One of the best finals I've seen. I've actually expected Iga to cruise through without any issues, but both players were exceptional. Such a tight game with some moments of brilliance from both.

Moim zdaniem mecz miał kosmiczny poziom. Obie panie grały świetnie. Iga odbierała bardzo trudne zagrania Aryny i dobrze dzisiaj serwowała. Każda mogła wygrać ten mecz ale Iga Świątek była odrobinę lepsza o tę jedną, dwie piłki. Obie panie stworzyły wyjątkowe widowisko i dla obu biję brawo. Iga ma swój tytuł w Madrycie czego jej serdecznie gratuluję. Trzymaj tak dalej Iga...Brawo ☀️🌹☀️
Jeszcze bym dodał, że Saba zagrała na swoim najwyższym poziomie, a i tak przegrała. Wyjaśnienie jest proste, Iga jest tak szybka na nogach, że piłki do których większość przeciwniczek nie zdąży dobiec Iga odgrywa bez żadnego problemu.

I am a decades long tennis fan, especially of the WTA. Honestly, the Madrid 2024 final with Iga Swiatek versus Aryna Sabalenka is one of the greatest matches I have ever seen. Swiatek and Sabalenka are extraordinary athletes and competitors. It's almost a shame it could not have ended in a tie.
