I honestly can’t think of anybody who left a mark on the industry like CM Punk. Like has anybody ever had their name continually chanted after 5 years of never actually making a physical appearance? Even in his second UFC fight the whole arena was chanting for him. It doesn’t matter if you like the guy, or hate the guy, it’s undeniable that the dude is one of the best to ever do it. Also, his whole Straight Edge lifestyle helped me to stay on the straight and narrow and believe in myself through high school and not cave to bullying or peer pressure like some of my friends (some of which sadly aren’t here today). It doesn’t matter if he never wrestles again, I’m a fan and I got nothing but the utmost respect for the man, and I’ll check out and support whatever he does.
Well said. Tho, I believe The Rock had his name chanted for a long time. Also, I believe the Austin WHAT!? saying was around for a long time not sure if its still around. The Rock didn't make an appearance in a long time and neither did Austin. Now they do during anniversary's and special occasions. It's a shame WWE ran this dude to the ground to the point where had no interest in wrestling ever again. He was the BEST wrestler in the WWE at the time he left.
Joe Gilmore the “WHAT?!” chant is Steve Austin’s thing, sure, but it isn’t his name. CM Punk actually had his NAME chanted. It was him. No one did it like him & I stopped watching WWE on a consistent basis after Wrestlemania XXX... no CM Punk = no edge
@@joegilmore6690 Well I think people know The Rock is a very busy man hence why the don't expect him to come wrestle again, over the years The Rock showed he cared more about making movies rather than going back to WWE. With Austin its the case that people know his neck is in a terrible shape so that's why he won't return to wrestle. Punk keeps being chanted way more even when he did nothing wrestling related unlike Rocky who did wrestle during that time and Stone Cold making apperences on Raw. I do hope we get to see Punk on commentary, as much as I would love to see him wrestle again I think he can pull it off also his name alone will bring tons of viewers to SmackDown, so it doesn't really matter if he sucks (I doubt he can be worse than Tom Phillips or Brian Saxton).
@@shai310 id rather see him on AEW
You right
You can tell punk is happy now, I’m happy for him, if he returns great, if he doesn’t that’s completely fine
100%
the interviewer actually is pretty cool for asking him questions about all his projects.
I was thinking the same thing, he's one of my favourite wrestlers but i wanna hear what he's up to now, the dudes super talented and as much as i love wrestling, I want to see what else he's done, if i didn't see this video, i probably wouldn't know he was in a movie
For me Punk has been an inspiring story. When that podcast was released I was struggling myself with a 100+ hour job in a place where there was no path to moving up. I was worked like a horse without any long term benefits. I never left a job before at that time. It's a scary thing. Almost like a defeatist attitude. I've always had that stubborn streak of 'I can make anything work!' But I noticed how unhappy I was. That I lost the passion for my job that I used to have. In a lot of ways that podcast inspired me to leave my job for the startup world, which spiraled my career to the direction it currently is. As a society we place too much value on 'face' but in reality your own personal satisfaction is far more important than what others think of you or your CV's face value. I'm doing what I'm doing now after having that self realization that I am hyper motivated by the long term. If I cannot see where my career can progress in 5-15 years then I find it difficult to motivate myself to push hard. I can do a good job, but not a stellar one. That knowledge that there will be new learning challenges over the horizon can inspire me to keep going no matter the work difficulty. That there is no glass ceiling to how high I can aspire. But that realization required lots of self reflection and courage that I dont think a lot of people have the time to do.
Thats awesome! I hope you are doing well now dude
If you guys came here for AEW talk, it starts at 44:46
You are a god man thanks :)
You're a scholar.
More people than cared about SmackDown this week XD
@Chris Terry 5 months later...you were very much wrong.
Thank you for that - you’re amazing
Wtf holy shit. This guy is a legend who barely ever does interviews talking about wrestling. This show is legit. I'm so proud.
Calm down... this ain’t 2013 .. he hasn’t been relevant in years.. now he needs them checks
@@swazie8455 He's a millionaire...
@@swazie8455 he's always relevant cuz he is best in the world
Swazie lol he will forever be relevant unless you just aren’t a fan. If you are, you know that he has the most staying-power ever besides The Rock....
Well they had Jericho and Cody Rhodes too so I think this show was legit a while ago. Still it's impressive they actually got CM Punk to do an interview.
HHH- How was your movie by the way? CM PUNK- Oh mine went straight to DVD just like yours did. HHH- Smiling
Punks movie is dope and has 87% out of 100 on rotten tomatoes just saying chaperone is a hot ass mess
^woosh
Sam Caraballo I'm sure the movie is good but rotten tomatoes is not reliable
I could listen to punk talk about Marvel for hours. Cool to hear his thoughts on that franchise
except hes so political that he cant just set it aside. the kraven some right wing figure with a gun? seriously?
Love him or hate him, Punk is ALWAYS a great interview. The dude is just honest and genuine, again whether you love or hate him, and that makes for interesting conversations.
AWESOME, AWESOME INTERVIEW! Way to go Kristian and Roxy, and THANK YOU PHIL!!
Came for CM Punk, staying for the interviewer. This guy is extremely knowledgeable and let's people talk. Its great!
This guy is the realist I have ever seen out of the Wrestling industry. I wasn't the biggest into it, but Cm Punk was the guy that got me to believe in it more than anybody else.
So glad he's happy and at peace now.
after having a worst loss in the history of ufc , he felt worthless acting the tough guy ever again. rest in PEACE now
@@user-db5mo1iz5w oh shut up you mong.
I am pretty happy seeing Phill in any aspect. If I am being honest I am more interested in his comic, TV and music interests and seeing more things he creates with that than him returning to wrestling. I don't even watch wrestling anymore.
Yeah me too.
Probably in my top five all-time favorite Collider Live interviews! LOVED every bit of it!
That woman is brilliant! She listens, listens, and listens, then drops a deep question. Underrated af
Booker T sounds like Seth Rollins. “He’s trying to take dinner off my table.” 😂
I like how Harloff asked him about his favorite movie and Punk was just like "...so donuts"
He was leading up to it....
@@aphiwematyolo1625 I don't get it?
@@xcrazypollo7098 you don't get what? that he's leading up to it?
@@aphiwematyolo1625 Yeah I didn't get why he talked about coffee and donuts when he was asked about his favorite movies

Phil seems like a cool guy to critique the original Ninja Turtles movie with. Or watch an 80s wrestling match on Rick Rude vs Jake the Snake. I think he’s in a good spot these days.
Big Phil to you!!!
David Harrison thanks bro
Brilliant interview. Great to see CM Punk in a good place!
26:12 is where he starts talking about WWE .. your welcome
I was depending on you.
WWE fanboys will love you.
What about my welcome?
Hats off to you two! What a well rounded interview!!!
Its Amazing how relaxed he looks now. You can see in anyones face from any promotion or sports you can see how tired they are. After they take a few years off they are so calm and relaxed. Im sure he can still go out and cause havoc
Would love to see Punk back in the squared circle but it's better to see him smile in that relaxed way... Whatever keeps him happy... i am concerned he will regret his decision to leave wrestling later in life but it's his life to lead... wish him all the best
CM Punk best in the world🌍🌏🌐🌍
Really well done interview, truly enjoyed it!
CM PUNK THE MOVIE YESSS BEEN WAITING FOR 8 YEARS

And here we are with CM Punk in WWE Backstage!
He's not going to wrestle though! People really think he wll go back! lol
@@wrestlingfan8112 Well he did actually
It's good to see o boy been a long time cm punk hope all been going well for u and your family
Great episode, loved it!
as much as i fawned over cm punk during his wwe career and would love little more than to see him on somehting like aew or njpw, its really great to see him so happy and healthy, i dont ever wanna see him like he was at the end of his wwe streak, it was rough.
Him and AJ are goals. Just living a life of living in a apartment with your wife and dog just seems so appealing tbh.
This was a great interview. Wishing tons of success for punks acting career. Hopefully he isnt to distant from the wrestling world.
Cm punk wants to make more movies relax at home wwe wore him out honestly i respect him more now that hes doing what he loves aj is a great wife he looks amazing im glad hes himself without wwe i want more cm punk movies
He actually does look great.
+brock lesnar Agreed.
@@Brantendo64 Agreed.
Awesome interview. Phil seems like such a cool and likable dude. Based off this interview I get the feeling that Punk is done with in-ring wrestling for good. Just seems like he has no interest or desire EXCEPT for possible appearances to get a crowd reaction. Such a shame that the WWE wore this guy down so bad and didn't take care of him as he was the next BIG thing in wrestling. I would have loved to see Punk go to AEW and help that company compete giving them even more firepower. Sounds like Acting is his new path and I hope the best for him. Will be checking out his movies.
Nah not WWE bro. Triple H
It sure as hell ain't mixed martial arts lol
Wrestling is dead...
I just fucking love listening interviews with CM Punk. He's so smart and intelligent. He tells amazing stories.
It would be so great if AEW got CM Punk for commentary. Imagine Tony Schiavone, JR and CM Punk on commentary. Excalibur could do interviews. Or have Schiavone do interviews with Punk, JR and Excalibur. Either way, that be a damn solid team 🤔 Edit: C’mon Tony Khan 😉
Punk is one of the guys that i can hear him talking about any topic for hours. He just says the truth, i respect that no wonder why people chanted his name for 5 years
Roxy's face as 6:13 is some real happiness haha
Punk as an updated version of Kraven the Hunter? I'd be onboard with that!
Phil Brooks sounds like such a cool guy Can’t wait to watch his movie Then wait for more Phil Brooks movies or whatever he does
How awkward would it be to have a conversation with Vince after firing him on his wedding day.
Me and my buddy were on topic of cm punk wrestling...i pretty much said what he just confirmed..If he ever does want to wrestle he will.. People need to move on and if he does let it be one of those OMG moments and get past the ring return..He is still my fav wrestler i even have a blackhawks nhl jersey with punk on the back. But things change times changes people move on, So we as his fan and Fans we can still love the time he gave us as a wrestler but now should try and enjoy other avenues he's been trying to pursue..Personally i would have loved for him to do something with AEW wrestling or commentary rather than WWE i just cant bare to watch wwe its painfully boring. I support him in his decision when something you loved becomes more of a job that makes you sick time to leave it behind.
CM punk seems happy good for him
56 minutes of punk and id do 56 more. Very cool interview
Really good interview
Great interview
39:36 This is my dude. I freaking love this dude

Great interview.
I have to see his movie. Reviews have been great
Honestly I would be happy to have cm punk back in any capacity anyway I could watch him on tv, because In my opinion he is dam entertaining to watch regardless.
He was the best seller at that time idiot no need of your opinion

I’m a huge cm punk fan but for him to return to WWE in this current situation, I can’t see that happening. WWE doesn’t have the star power in roster that will match CM punk star power.

I'm shocked to hear that... All his interviews are with wrestlers that I know of
I dislike Michael Lansberg with passion. That interview was so cringeworthy
Would be nice to see Punk on Movie Fights
He is the first person who made the fans wake up what's going on backstage politics in WWE. All we have to do as a fan is to support young talents like Fiend Bray Wyatt, Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley or new talented wrestlers. Thank you Cm Punk for entertaining us and telling us the truth about WWE.
18:00 - 19:00. That is the real CM Punk his fans respect snd love. Not all this ego BS half the people bitch about because they are deep inside jealous of him being able to reach the levels he did in his career (even while getting smashed in UFC). Hard to deny his pureness/intensions. Tbh he is the type of guy most kids should aspire to be like. ( minus his temper which can be bad but no different than everyone else. Just more open about it)
The Shinning is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and if CM PUNKS movie was inspired by that movie I will be watching it real soon... It will be interesting to see CM PUNK as a sociopathic Jack Nicholson type character 😮
CM Punk Forever!
He would be a great announcer for wrestling.
Big Trouble in Little China reference! Fantastic movie! Woooooooo;]
Somebody really needs to turn this man's life story into a miniseries.
If Punk goes to AEW I'll invest back into wrestling for sure
Its that time buddy
@@realityorfiction oh lord, thanks for letting me know buddy
Punk just won me over completely. I really liked The Last Jedi. Has my favorite scene with the Luke/ Kylo stand off. Cool dude.
I get what Punk was saying about trusting who you work for. I feel like WWE for him is like having been in a long marriage that became abusive to a point where his life was in jeopardy, and in that situation there is no room for fanfare or fond farewells it's GET THE F*** OUT RIGHT NOW.. and so when people are asking him to come back it's like asking him to trust that spouse not to abuse him again and you really can't trust that the company is not going to abuse you again or worse. He's gonna do what he's gonna do so I mean it is a good thing that fans do not forget him b/c of what he gave to the fans and it reminds WWE of their failure and their neglectful behaviors toward him and others, but do not hold a hope that he will return to the ring because it likely will not have a positive outcome.
I want him ti come back he and aj styles could do a wicked story line or him and somoi joe i think he could bring the ratings back
Well, there you have it!
0:12 😂😂 cm punk : those claps are real ??😕
Imposter syndrome is definetly real. I personally experience it somewhat regularly and a lot of my peers who are with me pursuing a full time MBA have the same feelings. Switching careers is a hard task, especially when you were doing it for a significant amount of time. More than anything else it's the internal battle of your old comfort zone and doubting yourself in this new environment.
Him talking about that thing he does in the beginning of every wwe show makes him an even better wrestler to be honest.
the most shocking thing i've heard on this talk, is that Phil hasn't seen a single Rocky movie.
+monotonedmika I nearly had a heart attack when he said that.
i really liked the kraven idea cm punk would be perfect for that role
YES! HAP & LEONARD!
you know, after he mentioned Kraven the Hunter, I could see him pull off Kraven. Just has to practice a russian accent, act methodical, but slightly crazed, and boom. Phil Brooks is Kraven.
Kraven is south African so the militia type could work in a black panther movie? Or too similar to the first BP?
I want CM Punk as Smoker for next season of Netflix One Piece

halfway through the episode: let me interrupts because i know you don't want to end on wrestling. Here's a wrestling question. hahaha do you hear yourself?
Great guy and interview. I don't see him ever coming back to the UFC. He really needed to start MMA as an amateur. However, the UFC paid him about $500k, so it's hard to blame him for going there and starting at the top. His real future is in acting, for sure. He did a great job in Girl on the Third Floor and I can easily see him being in a lot more movies.
Cm punk awesome yay meow love him
