    • i think he meant it in a different way. hurt as in kind of cheated or wronged. say, the ufc doctors take a good care of him after a fight - but if they didnt like in WWE and the staff would be telling him he still has to work anyway - that would be getting cheated/wronged/hurt. i think thats the way he meant it.

    • Here's the difference, It's common sense UFC is a REAL combat sport and you WILL get at least a black eye unless your opponent is severely outclassed. I'd argue many times the UFC is actually SAFER then the WWE. Most Combat sport fighters may fight on average anywhere from 15-50 fights over their entire LIVES. WWE wrestlers are expected to wrestle up to 4 times a week for Live events and TV and you are expected to wrestle hurt (While if you fail a physical in the UFC the fight is scrapped).

  • He mentioned that wrestling is much more cut-throat than any real sport and I think that's just logical. In sports, if you want to have a powerful top position, you actually need to do something about it in the sport itself. In wrestling, backstage politics come into play. You can become a main eventer, a champion even, by having the right connections. You just can't do that in say basketball. You can't be a starter if you don't prove yourself to deserve that spot and to deserve that spot you need to work together with a team. And especially with WWE, they have a guy who just needs to see you and like your look and he'll push you to the stars.

Just think of all the pro wrestlers that died prematurely that if they had walked away might still be alive today. The biggest example is Eddie Guerrero. WWE kept him on the road and between that and him gaining so much muscle weakened his heart. CM Punk did what was right for himself and very few stand up for themselves like that.
