I love Devil May Cry 5. I think it's the coolest game. Everything it does really tickles my peach. I am by no means an expert on this series. I am just a casual fan that happens to absolutely love this game.

@@normalchristiano2276 it's a anime who, being a "normal"(letting appart the araki spirit) shonen, don't take himself too seriusly because have their drama, conflict or more, but with the costumes, the sound effect who in the manga is a big part of the image, the exagerate of the english voices(like "go ahed mise shostar") and other lines of the characters, make honor for the jojo *BIZARRE* adventure.
DMC 5 is not a AAA game. It's an SSS game.

Here’s another thing: When you call Nico and look through the back window of the van, you can actually see her inside smoking and moving around. In the Vergil vs Nero fight, if you pause during the gameplay you can see Dante sitting and watching in the background. The attention to detail in this game is insane.

"Doesn't have the most amazing story" The thing is that with how surprisingly well written these characters are, and how characters are a factor in a story, it has a pretty decent story. There's a lot of surprisingly well written character writings behind the characters personalities and motives.

So he sees Urizen as Vergil because he embodies that one thing. He doesn't see any of Vergil in V despite V being the embodiement of every other aspect of Vergil. This despite knowing what V is. Their interactions play off how poorly the pair actually know each other, as supported by their dialogue in Mission 19. In what way is that poorly written?

The characters evolve. Just they dont tell you in a explicit way. Example: DMC 3. Dante wants to fight his brother to show he is better than him. To fight him to save the Human World. DMC 5. Nero wants to kill Vergil in anger and show he is more powerful than Dante. But he gets powerful only when his actions arent selfish and tries to protect them. More examples? See Lady's backstory.
I loved dmc 5 don't get me wrong but I felt the some of the characters kinda got pushed to the side and story alittle rushed but it's the fact what you say is true that makes me angry because they have the potential to evolve it abit to make it abit better or longer but still loved every slash of dmc even close to the plat but some areas including story coulda used abit "more"
@@dantemiles689 They really did Lady and Trish dirty in 5. Much as I loved the game, I was pretty annoyed that they were reduced to literal fan service. I got nothing against naked Lady and Trish but compared to how badass Trish was in the anime and her few 4 SE cutscenes and that Lady was the best written character in the series, it really stung that they were demoted to eye candy without even one badass scene between them.
U know, the thing i love about dmc5 is that litteraly every single frame of this game is walpaper material. just screenshot your folder into oblivion, print them all BOOM. high quality wallpapers, even if its just someone standing idle
The level of detail is insane. Nero's Buster animations cause shards of broken glass to hang in the air, but if you pause at the right time you can see that blood actually splatters against the shards. You would never see this during gameplay without photo mode and it's a totally unnecessary detail but I fucking love it.
Photo mode was a GODSEND to this game. If you saw my Twitter it's pretty much just DMC screenshots left and right. I love messing around with poses and shit for this game. It's so fun.

The idea of Nero’s whole motivation is that Dante called him “dead weight”, so he wants to save Dante so that he can tell him to go fuck himself is fucking hilarious and pretty damn accurate. 😂 “The birdy, the kitty and the Elemental Hero Mudball Man” that part nearly killed me! 🤣

One of my favorite things about DMC 5 is it's a breath of fresh air. The characters aren't super serious all the time, Dante especially, and it just feels super fun to have that instead of the constantly serious tones while, "We must save the world!" You're still trying to save it, but the characters ain't exactly losing their minds over it
and still some people say this is a game of violence, they don't know that the real objective is being awesome and stylish. I almost cried at the last part, good video, I like playing as V more than I expected, it's like being a Pokemon Trainer

I was once playing Bloody Palace with Nero and I managed to kill the last enemy right as the main chorus ended, so I heard "pull my devil trigger" and the music stopped and faded into reverb immediately, it was so awesome
You forgot to add these: -Hold LT while you're in SDT Dante to literally OPEN A PORTAL TO FUCKING OBLIVION and destroy whoever is in front of you -Punch an enemy with the Balrog 10 times to fire up the flames then switch to sword style and front -> mash that B to uppercut said enemy to the fucking moon -Ram enemies with a DEMONIC MOTORCYCLE -Read poetry and taunt with V while Birdie and Kitty beat the shit out of demons then press B to teleport behind said demons..."nothing personal, kid" -Charge a RAILGUN shot with Blue Rose while using Tomboy -DT Nero's devil bringer buster moves are different and more brutal than normal Nero. Ex: The Icy Goat - after breaking its shield, grab it by the head, BASH IT INTO THE GROUND THREE TIMES, then KICK IT 50M AWAY. Seriously...NERO has NO CHILL -Bully Vergil...and really the entire demon army with RG Blocks and releases. Bloody palace is a joke :D -Judgement Cut End...even if you are the receiver -Sweet, mellow violin music in the final mission, until you go DT and Nero shouts "Fuck you" and the remix starts playing -Red Queen Combo B -Nero's revolver, Blue Rose feels like a motherfucking artillery cannon and has such a satisfying sound -"Kill yourself later...I'll help" -Each.And.Every.Nico.Van.Entrance.Cutscene. I'm sure I still missed some.

I am playing on ps4 and i click the same button that causes dante to transform and i get nothing with nero. I am trying to figure out how to get nero to transform.
@ㅤㅤ Yea I figured out how to use it afterward by accident and then figured it out intentionally. The button for Nero devil trigger is the ^ directional button.

also one thing that many dont mention is that the game has a decent modding-community. sure, most of it is "just" reskins, but there is also turbo-mode, new songs, choosing your own character for missions, new style-announcers etc.

I think this is my favorite review ever. Not only is your commentary relatable as fuck and pretty much is verbatim everything I say (right down to the Bloodborne remark, that's my 2nd or 3rd favorite game ever), the enthusiasm for the game makes me happy. The coolest thing I did in boss rush practice was alternate between Royal Guard, Flint Wheel, and Trickster on Cavalier’s scripted opening attack. Change that, the coolest thing I did practicing the Cavalier Angelo fight was beat him with fists and nunchucks (the Bruce Lee way)

What I personally really love about this game is that it's basically a single player fighting game. Which is actually the kind of thing I always want. Good Fighting games always have an insane amount of depth that's fun to learn, but I've always had competitive anxiety. Meaning if a game has PvP, I always avoid it. And that's why I don't play fighting games. Devil May Cry is the answer to that problem. I don't have to worry about the pressure of going up against another player. I can just learn and improve in my own way.
Coming here from Vergil's video. DMC and Dante had me at "hello" 20 years ago when Alastor impaled him. He rose up - delirious. Godly music playing. Whipped his arm back and held it. Picked it up and swung slick slashes. Tossed in the air - juggled on his boot - caught it and tacked on his back. My kiddie mind exploded. Most. Epic. Thing. Ever. Next time I felt the same rush was seeing him ride the bike in the camera in DMC5 reveal trailer. It's not a game. It's art - at its effing finest.
