This was such a good ending. The business is still going strong, the demon world was sealed off, Nero has Kyrie and his arm back, Dante and Vergil were able to put an end to their lethal rivalry and instead fight for fun now, it's really nice to see. I feel like DMC ended on a good note here, but I'd love to see a sixth game where everyone comes together to do a full on Underworld focused adventure to destroy the chances of another gateway opening again.

The issue with a sixth entry being focused around destroying any chance of the Hell Gate opening ever again, is that we won't get any more games afterward. 5 has already wrapped up a lot, so a sixth would be very difficult to make without coming up with a new story entirely.

@@flyingplatypus6688 There’s literally the biggest threat ever possible from DMC1 that is still present: Mundus. Mundus is, and always will be a threat for a villain. Dante never killed him, only “banishing” him again like his father. Dante’s last line to him was “When you do come back, give my regards to my son” It would totally fit the narrative if Nero were to fight Mundus, being the “son” (not Dante’s, but Vergil and Dante are twins so close enough).

But like the Demon World has proven to be openable from SEVERAL sources, like Mallet Island, Vie Du Marlie, Temen-Ne-Gru, or Fortuna, now Red Grave. I’m not gonna believe they’re done based on this ending. It was literally a better ending to Devil May Cry 2 where Dante was “trapped” in the demon world and still came back…

@@venriskanu9751 I feel like This was a good ending (or as good as we'll get) for Vergil and Dante's story, and that if a sixth one were to be made, it should be less on them, and focus more on Nero and his group. Dante and Virgil should still be there, squabbling like they do, but they've put aside their differences (for now) and Nero, being stronger than them both for the moment, could be the new big hero (ish) to fight the next big threat.

What i love about this ending is that both brothers finally get their closure. For Vergil, he learns he wasn't actually abandoned and the path he was headed for was destructive with no happiness at the end. Finally overcoming his trauma. For Dante, he finally let go of his regrets, and his grief.

Vergil always knew he wasn't abandoned though. He found out the truth about his mother long before DMC3 which was confirmed in a canon manga. He also always knew where Dante was. Vergil's issue has always been he viewed himself too weak to protect his family.

While SDT is strong, we can't say for sure that it's enough to best the demon King. Sparda sealed him off for a reason.

God of War is still great for its structure. In a way its combat is made, nothing comes close to it. DMC is still a top camera Hack 'N' Slash, while God of War was changed drastically. For a Third-Person slasher (over the shoulder view) - it's the best.

@@umutcelik3781 Doesn't matter as long as Vergil won't be resentful towards Dante. And they have each other back. Just like the end of DMC5. What I think is, DMC5 are made just to right the wrong in DMC3. The plot are somewhat similar. Vergil raised the tower/qliphot, Obtaining power, become all powerful & lastly fighting Dante. The only difference is they reconcile & went to underworld together.

0:29 I really like this little part where Dante summons his sword and holds it out. If you look at his face, it shows complete emptiness and lack of emotion. After being haunted for so long and possibly suffering from depression, he is tired of everything. Even when faced with Vergil after years of isolation, he doesn't give an ounce of real emotion. He is bitter and you can feel the hatred in his eyes during this scene. He even just lets his sword summoning jerk him around a bit because he doesn't care to even hold himself steady.

Vergil also rewards Nero for beating him by giving up V’s poetry book which I guess was his and indirectly saying good job son. We never see Vergil reward someone for beating him which I guess he wanted Nero to have because he was leaving for a bit. Vergil will always be with Nero in more ways than one.

I love how Nero's dramatic rising up in the final cutscene before his boss fight and all that is under the presumption that Dante and Vergil were actually going to kill each other, when in reality just as Vergil says 'You came all this way just for that?' the truth is they do this shit all the time and it's about as hostile as a friendly pick-up game between brothers

Dante and Vergil WERE going to kill each other, as they both agreed it’s time they “ended this”, and they both entered SDT with just barely enough power to finish this in one blow. Vergil also thought Nero “came all this way just for that” because he would be expecting Nero to kill him in revenge for his stolen arm, as well as all the neglect for his entire life. Yet he came to stop them from killing each other

I love love love that the ONE thing they chose to carry over from DmC was this fight. Mechanically, thematically, it's the exact same fight, just dialled up to 11. The reboot didn't land right but that final boss was perfect, every Devil May Cry should end with a toe-to-toe like that, save the crazy over the top CG fest for the penultimate

Actually, he isn't wrong Dante won the fight a the top of the tower, the duel on mallet island, and that sparring match. Where Vergil won the first two fights in dmc3 canonically and he is the kind of petty person to count his return and sending Dante flying as a win. So it is 3-3 he wouldn't count Urizen as himself nor V since they only make up half of him.

You know if angels did exist in the DMC series, i think the developers could have really went with the idea that Nero would be a nephilum. I think that would have been an interesting story to explore due to Nero's form showing to have the characteristics of both an angel with his wings and the demon characteristics with his physical built. Just a little hot topic to think about, what do you people think?

At least until he later saw Nero using the Yamato and saw how it reacted to Nero’s touch.

This was such a good ending. The business is still going strong, the demon world was sealed off, Nero has Kyrie and his arm back, Dante and Vergil were able to put an end to their lethal rivalry and instead fight for fun now, it's really nice to see. I feel like DMC ended on a good note here, but I'd love to see a sixth game where everyone comes together to do a full on Underworld focused adventure to destroy the chances of another gateway opening again.
The issue with a sixth entry being focused around destroying any chance of the Hell Gate opening ever again, is that we won't get any more games afterward. 5 has already wrapped up a lot, so a sixth would be very difficult to make without coming up with a new story entirely.
@@flyingplatypus6688 There’s literally the biggest threat ever possible from DMC1 that is still present: Mundus. Mundus is, and always will be a threat for a villain. Dante never killed him, only “banishing” him again like his father. Dante’s last line to him was “When you do come back, give my regards to my son” It would totally fit the narrative if Nero were to fight Mundus, being the “son” (not Dante’s, but Vergil and Dante are twins so close enough).

@@venriskanu9751 I feel like This was a good ending (or as good as we'll get) for Vergil and Dante's story, and that if a sixth one were to be made, it should be less on them, and focus more on Nero and his group. Dante and Virgil should still be there, squabbling like they do, but they've put aside their differences (for now) and Nero, being stronger than them both for the moment, could be the new big hero (ish) to fight the next big threat.

Yeah, he should've totally sat back and let the morons wail on each other. It's not like either if them jabbing each other in the stomach with their swords was going to end their pissy little scuffle. Mayhaps decapitation would be a better choice for ending someone who tanks head shots and gut stabs like they're nothing.
What i love about this ending is that both brothers finally get their closure. For Vergil, he learns he wasn't actually abandoned and the path he was headed for was destructive with no happiness at the end. Finally overcoming his trauma. For Dante, he finally let go of his regrets, and his grief.

Vergil always knew he wasn't abandoned though. He found out the truth about his mother long before DMC3 which was confirmed in a canon manga. He also always knew where Dante was. Vergil's issue has always been he viewed himself too weak to protect his family.

Nero can surpass the 2 like the 2 surpassed their father. Their descendant is much stronger than the parent. But it will take a long time.

Over 2 years later, this game still looks absolutely stunning. This was my first DMC game, and wow it is simply one of the best action games ever made. This games combat wipes the floor with God of War 2018
I definitely won't argue with you on the quality of DMC5, but I will say that I think got the name of Dad of Boi wrong
God of War is still great for its structure. In a way its combat is made, nothing comes close to it. DMC is still a top camera Hack 'N' Slash, while God of War was changed drastically. For a Third-Person slasher (over the shoulder view) - it's the best.
Yeah as much as I tried to like god of war 2018 I just couldn't it just ruined it for me it doesn't feel like god of war at all anymore.

What I think is, DMC5 are made just to right the wrong in DMC3. The plot are somewhat similar. Vergil raised the tower/qliphot, Obtaining power, become all powerful & lastly fighting Dante. The only difference is they reconcile & went to underworld together.

0:29 I really like this little part where Dante summons his sword and holds it out. If you look at his face, it shows complete emptiness and lack of emotion. After being haunted for so long and possibly suffering from depression, he is tired of everything. Even when faced with Vergil after years of isolation, he doesn't give an ounce of real emotion. He is bitter and you can feel the hatred in his eyes during this scene. He even just lets his sword summoning jerk him around a bit because he doesn't care to even hold himself steady.
Luckily, his nephew saves the day.
The love of the father that he will let his son win the fight so he could have fun, is the best bonding that father and a son will ever have.

Vergil also rewards Nero for beating him by giving up V’s poetry book which I guess was his and indirectly saying good job son. We never see Vergil reward someone for beating him which I guess he wanted Nero to have because he was leaving for a bit. Vergil will always be with Nero in more ways than one.

You know, that fight scene between Vergil and Dante seems very......friendly. Don't get me wrong, they're still fighting, but it doesn't seem like it's based on hate or vengeance. But rather, it seems like they're having legitimate sibling fun.

I love how Nero's dramatic rising up in the final cutscene before his boss fight and all that is under the presumption that Dante and Vergil were actually going to kill each other, when in reality just as Vergil says 'You came all this way just for that?' the truth is they do this shit all the time and it's about as hostile as a friendly pick-up game between brothers
Well Dante said he was gonna kill Vergil and Nero has no idea what Vergil is thinking. It's not like he has the wrong idea since Vergil and Dante have tried (and succeed) in killing each other before.
They do, but it only hadn't ended in one dying off for good because they were so closely matched. There was real vitriol between them in the first bunch of encounters. Now, not so much anymore.
Dante and Vergil WERE going to kill each other, as they both agreed it’s time they “ended this”, and they both entered SDT with just barely enough power to finish this in one blow. Vergil also thought Nero “came all this way just for that” because he would be expecting Nero to kill him in revenge for his stolen arm, as well as all the neglect for his entire life. Yet he came to stop them from killing each other
Using Devil Trigger to escape Vergil's throws is SO satisfying. As is throwing him when he is staggered. I nearly jumped out of my chair when Nero ended the fight by slamming Vergil into his own projection XD

This is why I always loved Capcom! Sure they had there ups and downs but this game is proof that they listen to the fans. When they announced DMC 4 special edition, I shit my pants. I knew they were going to bring Vergil back and they did. Dream come true! 10/10

I know nero is objectively weaker but the fact he beat even a weakened vergil is insanity. That is a hella impressive feat especially since hes fighting against a vergil AFTER consuming the qliphoth fruit AND getting his sin devil trigger
Not to mention when Vergil couldn’t even stand after their fight and want panting heavily, Nero looked like he didn’t even take a scratch

Not gonna lie, I played the whole Nero vs Vergil with tears in my eyes. The history and BGM was just too much for a true DMC fan.
The thing is, i always felt sad for Credo but now we get to learn exactly how important Credo was to Nero. He's the closest thing to a father figure he had besides Dante and Vergil. I feel really bad for Credo because he wasn't evil just corrupted

I like how Dante finally gets his closure in life, he was suffering from depression for a large part of his life (seen in the anime) and now that vergil is finally back he seems more than happy he can stay in hell with his brother as well as quench his never ending blood lust on the demons there
considering he is not doing well with his shop , he can just give the franchise to Nero and having vacation(?) with Vergil

This game is beyond good. I just started watching these cutscenes like an hour ago and I am hooked i remember teh Devil may Cry demo in 2002 demo disk for the Ps2.
I love love love that the ONE thing they chose to carry over from DmC was this fight. Mechanically, thematically, it's the exact same fight, just dialled up to 11. The reboot didn't land right but that final boss was perfect, every Devil May Cry should end with a toe-to-toe like that, save the crazy over the top CG fest for the penultimate
This fight is one of the best I've played in a game in about ten years. The sheer requirement of skill and reflex makes it really replayable.
Also the fact that this fight is the whole mission, meaning you can just pop in and square off with Vergil right away whenever

Actually, he isn't wrong Dante won the fight a the top of the tower, the duel on mallet island, and that sparring match. Where Vergil won the first two fights in dmc3 canonically and he is the kind of petty person to count his return and sending Dante flying as a win. So it is 3-3 he wouldn't count Urizen as himself nor V since they only make up half of him.

It’s scenes like when Nero gets his arm back that make me wish The devs would have gave more content cutscene wise between Nero and credo In 4 because I can see why Nero is the way he is because of him so it would have added more emotional weight to Nero’s sorrow and regret for not being able to save credo

Is it just me who absolutely adores the moment Nero comes off the phone with Kyrie and makes that heartfelt speech. The music, the voice acting and visuals impacted me with so much raw emotion and I always come back to that one scene.

You know if angels did exist in the DMC series, i think the developers could have really went with the idea that Nero would be a nephilum. I think that would have been an interesting story to explore due to Nero's form showing to have the characteristics of both an angel with his wings and the demon characteristics with his physical built. Just a little hot topic to think about, what do you people think?

Just wanna point out that in the very beginning of the fourth game Dante tries to tell Nero something about his lineage and Nero literally throws a sword at him, talking about trying to wrap things up
@@demoninvalim2540 Dante tells them that they’re similar, being part human and part demon, but he didn’t know that his edgelord of an older brother somehow found time from gaining power to actually have a child. At least until he later saw Nero using the Yamato and saw how it reacted to Nero’s touch.
Then again Dante didn't want to tell Nero that Urizen/Vergil was his father because he didn't want Nero to bear the thought of having to kill his own father
