I went to a bar in Paris (called Blitz Society) and played chess against a guy who I thought played VERY well... hope you enjoy the video :D

Thank you a lot @AnnaCramling for this game ! Hope to get my revanche when you're back in Paris 😁♟️
Thank you for the game!! :)
When you said, "Here I come," you had me dying laughing!
Fun game! And a fun fact for me, I had a colleague called Kyril Kuznetsov. Good luck, with everything, that is happening!
Great game, he had you for most of it. Whites A1 eventually set up for you. But you were sweating. He had you on your toes.
@@AnnaCramling You guys are getting married. I want an invite to the wedding!
I can’t imagine anything better than randomly seeing Anna, playing her in chess, and being offered macaroons for free
How did the tournie go?
He's been following her for 39 months. There is no such thing as a coincidence when it comes to a devout fan
He was shown macarons but I don't believe he was ever offered macarons.
hahaha, he was „shown” macaroons, hilarious
@@BlockCylinder Lol I just of misheard. I was thinking man this is like the opportunity of a life time.
The most obvious sign of him being good is how polite he is.
then why is magnus such an arsehole

@@kyrylokuznetsov42so you are the brotha in this video.
Honestly, when you come across a polite/intelligent person, odds are that you have come across a Ninja for The Good. Underestimate at your own peril.
props to the guy for introducing himself and asking for a game. you carry yourself well young man and impressed us all

I completely agree! But that's more than likely how he knows her. There are (according to FIDE in May 2021) 9,460 active chess players with a rating of 2200. Anna is more than likely known for being a chess content creator than being a chess player alone. I may be wrong since I am not the guy in the video, but that is just an assumption based exclusively on his reaction to seeing her.@@michaelwincott
Totally! I would love to play with her too, or with the Botez sisters, or with Anya Taylor-Joy
Yup :) Playing with her is something you remember all your life, even if you lose hahah
@@kyrylokuznetsov42Oh, I would definitely lose! 😄
@@kyrylokuznetsov42you didn't lose. you were crushing on her a bit and acted like a gentleman and blundered the game for her. just get her number, i would say that blunder is a win-win. nice acting too, trying to sell that you didn't know what you did.
I’m waiting for someone to say they have no clue who Anna is and then play the Cow opening.
That would be hilarious.
and then when she tells him that this is her opening he must be like "wdym i played this forever" hahaha

Anna is such a lovely person. She’s one of those people who sends ripples of positivity into the world.
I agree. I know nothing of chess. But she is such a sweetie pie.
Yet I wish she had some more features of her beautiful mother rather than gesticulating about like a Hollywood girlie all the time. Indeed, she is nice. But she should not overdo her show effects.
@@henryseidel5469 Do you think that is showmanship rather than her personality? I admit, it never occurred to me. To play Devil’s advocate, could she be doing it for show in order to increase interest in something about which she is passionate with a few extra “likes” along the way?
Her ripples are more like a tsunami.
@@HansDelbruck53 I’m sure she would beam at that comment. Agreed.
"Sometimes beautiful things need to be sacrificed" Anna, the chess demon savage.
6:06 she checked him out loll
So much fun and so impressive seeing you two chatting so nicely, while trying to thrash each other! Smiling assassins!!
Anna's ability to carry on a conversation while calculating moves is impressive.
I really think Anna is one of the most beautiful souls on the planet. A true example of raising children correctly and showing them they can accomplish anything they set their mind to.
? You know both her parents are better players than she is right?
Well played, sir. A genuine moment caught on camera
Just the way he manages the pieces and the clock you see he's a bit more dangerous than he seems
most likely CM
He may have lost the game but he just won her heart.
4d chess man
I like how Anna talking to other person, such a beatiful conversation
That looked like a fun time for both of you. I like it when there's joking around and banter during the game. Not too serious. Even when you lose.
This guy is a hero even though he lost
Very nice of him to let you win in the end. A true gentleman.
why people always believe man will "let" a woman win in chess? First this would be an insult to your female opponent. And secondly, do you have any idea how difficult it is for a chess player to "let" someone win, particularly when there is only seconds left on the clock?
@@wularry1298this was obviously a joke lol
What a likable guy he is, it's almost unbelievable.
What a great interaction! Really enjoyed this one
That was awesome - Great Win!
I always admire the way these chess players take defeat in their stride. It takes strength of character to remain so cheerful and friendly, I would like to be able to do the same.
for sure. to be fair to reach any level of competency with chess one has to lose hundreds of times. I'm not certain if that fosters an ability to take defeat in stride or whether people who can't do that to begin with just don't make it that far, or perhaps a combination of both. but from my experience the chess community is remarkably respectful and gracious regardless of the outcome of the game
@@GuitarGuruGamingSee Magnus accusing Hans of cheating cause he lost 🤨
@@SergioAbarca9 one person does not an entire community make. Besides at the top level of anything there will be people with inflated egos. But that hardly makes them representative of the community as a whole
This is now my favorite video of all time! The conversation was very entertaining! I'm going to study your game. Also, I can't wait to check out that bar. Looks so cool.
Never seen a chess master being so positive and social with there opponent this girl is unique I f***ing love it
Yes, she is the only streetplayer I can watch honestly, I hate all those guys talking trash every 2 seconds to their opponents. It is so annoying and outplayed.
Me2 I think she’s so kind
I'm below beginner status, have very little understanding of the game but absolutely mesmerized watching this channel. Very few things in life are this fun when you have no clue.
Anything is this fun if you have no clue, when you are watching passionate people who do what they love who are also solid human beings... It is a vibe.
The vibes from Cyril are _impeccable_
Merci beaucoup 😄
@@kyrylokuznetsov42 De rien! 😄
This was a really cool encounter. Both are wonderful people.
10:31 I’ve never seen the predictive meter move that much😂 You can tell he has a talent for this game.
talent? He's obviously studied the game for many years. He's obviously 2000+ probably much higher though
The maniacal “ Ha Ha” at the end was amazing lol
Can you, from my perspective, imagine the idyllic scene of watching two happy, young people enjoying a friendly game of chess in clean, quiet bar? It's inspiring - really - so thx :)
Y'all would make a good couple. Lot of great chemistry!
I don't even know how to play chess, but I just watch Anna because I like her personality. You look like you make people feel comfortable and I've seen you play and get nervous. But getting a little nervous just makes you play better and strive for perfection or at least you're always trying to do the best that you can. Love to watch you play
I dont play chess. I dont watch chess. This popped up on my feed and despite having no idea wtf was going on i watched the whole thing. These two people both seem awesome.
You should get into it, you obviously see what it does to two random people 😂
This is your sign to start playing!
He almost won. She underestimated him when he moved his rook all the way up. Lucky win for her
Guy knew his game from the start, lets lose to win. Man of culture he is
Anna is always such a great friend to have
You renewed my interest in Chess.
Their chemistry is really nice
So is your biology
I'm jealous that you are just sitting in a bar in Paris looking to play chess.
That was a mesmerizing game, you played that perfect. The over reaction to his moves towards the end let you evade but ever so slowly close in on his king. You know it’s a good game when you don’t realize until it’s done.
I like this guy, this was a good match.
Fun video! Excellent finish.
Knowing how the knight moves = GM
Just want to say I love to watch your videos because you don't sprint through games like other channels / tournament streams such that I completely lose track of the moves, and you say it in common english which is easier to follow. Botez's are similar but they don't seem to post as much games.
He was so good he didnt mind just playing around and losing.
I love Cyril’s energy. Good video.
Everybody act as better people when there's camera recording them.
@@peterjames232lol you're so negative
A lot of tension there! Life as it should be! Great upload thx!
He played a strong game and missed his win, cool video Anna and great talk during the game :-)
The English version is "Cyril!" The name actually means "Lordly," and it stands amongst the most splendid of all names!
Wow! That was an entertaining game of chess! Somehow Anna managed to get her pieces in a position to threaten mate despite blundering her bishop and leaving her king exposed - and I've never seen her studying the board so intensely, desperately looking for a way out of that mess. And yet, her opponent just couldn't find a way to finish her off and eventually blundered the mate. Bravo to both of them!
Great game Anna your strong opponent got tunnel vision at the end good you find the win and save the match!!🎉🎉
Seems in the end he didn't know how the knight moved (just kidding ofc), great vid!
There's some chemistry between those 2.
This felt like a date the first minutes XD
this is the most... definiton of "friendly"... utter lovely video i have ever seen...
Lol cute dynamic it’s nice to see people who don’t speak English as a first language communicate well
Just look at Anna's facial expression at 2:14 It says it all - the intense dominant competitiveness, usually so well concealed by the playful chat and banter.
And how her breathing accelerated at 8:27 when she looked the tension point on the board and all the threats facing her...
I think these two have chemistry.
This is the Anna we luv
You can tell she knew he let her off the hook with the last few moves.! "Who was that masked man!" 🎭
Very good game, and great sportsmanship.
I just joined your channel. Enjoying it so far. Cool stuff 😎
I’ve never seen a cooler meeting of two people. Not even a huge chess player at all and this was such recognition of each others abilities in the most fun challenge possible
He captured the queen for sure :)
He seems young, so it's not so much WHO he is as WHO he WILL BE. Pretty strong player.
I'm not watching because of chess. I'm watching because she is so skilled with people 😊
He crushed you, Anna. What a blunder he made at last.
They both have good chemistry
Something tells me we are going to be seeing a lot more of Cyril with Anna Cramling... Anna knows a good catch...
What a cool guy
The chemistry is amazing!
This game was such a roller coaster, with unexpected end
I love how much you enjoy people and life.
5:05 "then it dawned on me. When he said 'oh, you gave away your beautiful knight' I suddenly realized I had met the local chess hustler..."
They look so good together. Would make a great match.
One of the most excited games.
I think he is Kyrylo Kuznetsov, studying at Sciences Po.
That's the name of mysterious guy
in uk we would pronounce that is Sirrel, or cyril, that was a tough one to prounounce in his language
Talking about the beautiful knight in the middle of the board puts a smile on my face
If the title was "First Chess Date" I'd have believed it from the positive interaction. 😮
Anna has such a beautiful soul, u r an angel..full of goodness..❤

Why would his rating be out of the system? im new in chess id love to now
This was some nice content Anna, thank you 😊 It was a good game, and I was thinking he kinda had you … But it was your finishing that counted in the end … Listening to Levy lately, I recognise that your experience with vision and moves is what makes you the superior player. Well done 😉
More that he had a won game and missed Qxf2 having played very well up to then ... Ng4 should win I think
It’s good to see zinchenko enjoying a game of chess
it looks like our Zinchenko, although the latter's name is Oleksandr, not Kirill. But this decision of yours is quite interesting. He looks like Zinchenko, but more like his brother, if he had a bro. Never a dull moment when Anna is playing a match. Chess Princess.
I never thought of it that way. If a princess played chess they might come close to Anna's quality.
Been playing a lot of Dutch, you had a cool stonewall. Bd7->Be8->Bh5 is one of the funnest sequences to pull off.
When they play Catalan theory, suspicion rises. When they play good backward bishop move in couple seconds, all doubts are off - they play a lot.
