I won 2020 Bentley Bentaya at the Copart auction and i won!... But there was issue which meant i missed out but all my hopes were not fully wrecked as i later found another 2017 Bentayga listed at Copart but before i went for it i decide to go check it out.

Mat it’s at £44k ,leave it m8 far too expensive now especially with all the unknowns
Mat, that post under the hood is ONLY connected to the starter and the second battery, and can be isolated from that battery by the pyrofuse and the batteries are also seperated by a contactor, so putting power to it at those posts will only power the starter, and the first battery will (after the accident) only supply power to the vehicle electronics. So you would need to jump it at both the main battery AND the posts under the hood simultaneously. Also, I remember the W12 being fairly robust mechanically, not like a 1.4TSI, were the rods probably bend if you sneeze too hard, so I would say it's most likely fine, and the water is in the bottom, but the top of the intercooler goes to the engine, and the bottom only goes to the turbo, so it's highly unlikely that it sucked up any water.
Might also be the case with some blown fuses in the main fuse-box.. it's worth a check for all fuses and the control units that are seating on floorboard beneath the seats, if those have the board flooded or water can cause oxidization and they might cause car not start.

What I saw the state of that Cayman I thought you were crazy but the result is awesome. I suspect that the Bentley is a bigger risk, and that W12 lump is quite a challenge, but if you don’t get bid up too far then go for it. I don't know if Mat remembers but he made a video about a new exhaust on his old MERCEDES E350 CDI V6 about 4 years ago. and in that video, me and my friends saw mat and my local park on the ramps so we decided to go over to him. he was such a nice guy as I was quite scared being about 11 at the time. I remember getting home and subscribing to his channel at like 2k subscribers. it so nice to see him come all this way. well done mat.

Fairly new to your channel Mat, but I’ve overdosed in watching your videos. I love your can do attitude and dedication to get the job finished even if you are there till the early hours and then up the very next morning to get a tune or go to a dealership. Love the channel Mat. The damage seems to go at and angle from driver side front in a diagonal across the windscreen and has possibly twisted or shocked the sunroof, as the cracks on the windscreen stop behind the interior mirror. You've hands for everything........its a challenge, go for it !!!!!!
I'm an engineer and thought exactly that myself. A small flex at the front stacks up the further away from the point of impact. Like opening a fan or an explosion so to speak. I'd be running away from that one.

Having read through a load of the comments it would appear the general consensus is "go on - get it" , I would tend to agree too, its what you do best ! Those in the know appear to have ruled out any potential engine damage from water, so maybe a little research to confirm this and your quids in again! Having had a couple of continental GT's the Bentayga is now my dream car to own, you certainly are a man to take risks, Im sure you could sort this. Maybe 40k or less would be a decent price and if it could't be fixed there has got to be value in the parts ? either way Mat good luck, Happy New year to you both, great channel.

I've found that when the engine is seized and the starter engages that the car will actually shake a bit from the force of the starter hitting an engine that won't budge. If you aren't feeling that movement then I would think it's another issue other than a frozen engine. Great job with your videos!

From a gear head in USA I watch your amazing channel all the time, it’s incredible what you can do with these machines; bringing them back to life; on this one thou if water actually was in inner cooler I would be concerned about the engine; even though I know Mat can fix it either way 😊......:)

Definitely buy it. If the intercooler looks like a radiator then it is an air to air heat exchanger and there would be no water in it. Perhaps the water came from somewhere else or it isn’t an intercooler you are looking at. Re the sunroof, if it is the opening panel that is sitting up it ought to be reparable. If the structure was bent enough to change the fit of the roof glass, then wouldn’t the door fit, particularly drivers door be out too round the window frame and the door not open and close properly. My hunch would be the sunroof mechanism jumped due to the crash or it was open at the crash and someone has tried to force it shut.

I don’t mind what damage it has as the more damage, the more content you have for us to watch. If you can afford to rebuild the worst case scenario then do it!!
It's definitely the best thing to watch right now. Keep it going matt and I would definitely give the Bentley the time and love it needs. Price would be £30,000-£35000 can't wait for the next video.

The question is, if you buy it and cant fix it. How much of an impact will that have on you? whether that be financially, mentally etc. If its something that's fairly easy to recover from, which im guessing it is. That is a beautiful spec Bentayga - close to perfect in my opinion. However, there are lots of potential issues and, even with the VW parts bin, I can only see the bills mounting (although, at £80k+ you have a good margin to play with). Looking forward to seeing which way you go... Another great vid, but as always the star has to be your dog! I've definitely fallen for him...

I'm wondering of you could add the hours to your builds as you have a lot of time lapse moments which are cool but, I'd love to know how long things take too. Also how did you get started with this in relation to money did you fund it yourself then get sponsorship? I'd love to start doing this but, the money side of it seems crazy. I'd say you should take it Mat, I think the roof is not damaged otherwise it would have been a CAT S and I think the engine is clean because the water from the intercooler is there after the crash and it will start because of the pyrofuse as well as the Airbag Control Module. Would only be cat S if the insurer had been able to see it. You can have structural without a insurer managing to check it properly.

Quick way to check if an engine is seized or hydrolocked, put an amp clamp on the negative lead, if its drawing more than 200amps the starter is trying to turn the engine over.
Hey Matt also check if the car has Adaptive cruise control (ACC) If so the 2 radars are located on the front left and right area of the bar. Right where that one is damaged If it does it will need a new radar and full calibration, quite expensive Add that to your budget calculations
I love the idea of a bentayga, I just reckon you’re better off finding or wanting for a newer generation one to come up, the interior on the new ones is miles miles better.

I'd definitely walk away from that one. The slam panel was obliterated right up to the chassis leg combined with the wheel impact. I think this vehicle has mounted something and potentially twisted the chassis. The roof misalignment is not a closure issue. These are my options and are open to interpretation and I thank you for providing such great content that evokes such an interest in what you do that I feel the want to voice said opinions. Excellent work sir, carry on!

I know this might be far fetched as most of the work you put on the cars takes hours, but have you thought about live streaming parts of the rebuild process on any of the cars? I`d love to see you and your mates bashing your heads at night in the unit, trying to figure stuff out. Other than that, top notch content man, keep it up!

Hi Matt, because the curtain airbags have deployed, it is common for panoramic roof rails or joints to become damaged. Then the glass will sit crookedly on it.
