I went to Copart to view a Ferrari 458 which i was interested in buying, but when i arrived i come across a crash damaged 2020 Rolls Royce Ghost which took both mine and Hannahs fancy. But there was one thing that stopped us from buying it..

Voting for RR, Ferrari have a good name, but its a bad company with unreliable cars.
The reason the Rolls is a category B is the steering wheel got knocked to the wrong side during the crash.... Even so what a cool fix.

living a dream would be if he was able to buy these cars in dealership with a cash (no rental, no leasing and other things) repairing cheapest af crashed cars is not something unique

I found it funny when you noticed the BMW part on the car and said you’d confirmed it. I used to work in the BMW warehouse when it was based in Bracknell many years ago (they eventually moved the warehouse to Northampton). At the time it was a 24-hour operation receiving lorries from Germany, getting them into the right parts of the warehouse, picking, packing and then despatching all parts to dealerships for UK and Ireland. There was a team in there who picked all the RR parts, and their whole job was to get the BMW parts, change the label to RR and (at least) 4x the price to the dealers.

He didn’t clarify it in the video; but I would guess the categorisation would mean it’s uninsurable so therefore not an option

Bigger build means more content get the 458
The Rolls Royce is a Cat B....the first images you show the rear door and quarter panel, on the passenger side, look closer and you can see that the door has kissed the quarter and left a bulge in the skin. For this amount of force to have telegraphd that far down the car to the B pillar and even on a suicide door means that the thing is DEAD. Don't touch it with a barge pole, its far far worse than you think!

I always watch your stuff my guy. I feel inspired to tell you about my new car I got last Saturday. It's not quite the same as cars you usually go for but I love the thing with all my heart and I know how you feel about getting a new car so I wanted to tell you about it. It's a 06 Lincoln Town Car signature limited. It's got 70k miles on it but I swear it's never been out in the rain until yesterday. It's still got all the inspection marks on it everywhere it's so perfect and I just love the thing. I swear it's the best Lincoln ever made. I over paid for it and I don't even care. The dealership straight got me for about 1700 bucks cuz of the great shape it's in and I'm just happy they and I had a good day when I bought it. Keep loving cars and making cool videos.
I love this extreme optimistic approach of Mat towards a complete wrecked car. After finally finding a single part that's not damaged: 12:50 -> "The good news is...." notices the brake disk is damaged after all "ah noooo..." 13:20 -> "The good thing about this is... it's gonna put a lot of people off which would obviously mean a lower price" Thanks Mat for always showing us the positive perspective on even the worst situations.

This is deffinately ambitious. I'm almost certain you'll struggle to get any parts from dealership and good luck getting them from local parts shops. Ebay will be your friend on this car. You are certainly a braver man than I 😂

When I had my Ghost, one of the first things I did was to remove the umbrellas and champagne glasses, so they don't walk off! The R-R umbrellas are $500 each from an authorized dealer. The champagne glasses are unique to the car as the base is smaller than a standard glass. They are only available in pairs. Should you break one, they are over $800 for the pair. You don't want someone carelessly break one while toasting. Chin Chin!
I did the same with the umbrella from my Pulsar GTI R 🤣

Mat every time I think you can’t top yourself anymore you manage to find a way. Rolls Royce would be the pinnacle of what you have built if you get one, but even then I reckon you’d still find a way to top that too. Massive props.

Mat you need to buy it! I work for RR! They go together very similarly to BMW’s. Parts may be very difficult to get though

That's a Series II Ghost Black Badge - really nice spec. Headlights you found were Series I spec tho. Most expensive part on the car might be the carbon fibre wheels.

I would hazard a price guess for the Ferrari at about 15-20K considering the condition it is currently in and all the repairs and parts needed (and any nasty little surprises that may come along)
If it was me, I would go for the Roller if you could get the category changed from a Cat B to a Cat S. Much cheaper and quicker fix in the long run. You would be Ballin' then.

This is so weird, I literally subbed to you this week and I've been binge watching all the projects while off work ill. I finished the Porsche series (up to date) this morning and thought to myself I'd love it if he did a Ferrari 😂 but holy shit that rari is way too gone surely? There's no bloody floor in the front and the rear subframe is completely snapped off!? But I suppose even if you manage to get it road worthy for under 100k it's going to be an epic series and it'll keep the channel going and attract the Ferrari crowd!

I was in the Met police and was a trained vehicle examiner and trained to recover engine numbers even from engine block that has been ground down by the people that stole also have manuals for the hidden VIN numbers by the manufacturers. There is a way to find the true identity of a car it just takes time and patience. Great video just found your channel 👍

Love your videos Mat, and this is coming from 48 year old married Mom in the US! I have a question....Is there any way to have the Rolls re-evaluated? Is there a process to go through? It just seems as if it's a huuuuuuge loss of a beautiful car! 😣
My guess is: that Rolls have something to do with the classification. They don't want someone rebuilding their products and returning them to the market place.
From what I was told by someone who inspects crash damaged vehicles he said the new write off markers are still done with the old ones in mind where the price of the repair is how they determine the category it’s under

I’d like to see the Rolls Royce come to life, although I’ve heard it’s really bad in electronics and such, but great driving experience. I’ve heard that a Rolls Royce must have service quite often as well, because of minor problems, but expensive ones, so unless you’re crazy rich, it’s never worth owning one. Perhaps Mat can restore it to a better car altogether
