  • With a thumping battery of incessant growling & snarling the Nkuhuma pride ceremoniously gorge on their feast quickly devouring their meal. The subsonic vocalizations & communication in hippos are quite unique displaying their tusks & yawn posturing as a way of warning an opponent, it’s effective in showing off their strength. It's never an easy task for a wildlife mom to keep her cub safe as well as secure a meal for both of them especially when their hard-earned meals are stolen. They look so much alike that it's special to see them together. The heavens opened up after the passing of the Ndzhenga King, Uboso♚❤releasing a torrential downpour. Floods trigger a huge spike in growth & nutrient-rich sediment is washed downstream & out onto floodplains, it's a life-giving process that nourishes & replenishes. Beautiful video & viewing thank you, *𝓜𝓪𝓵𝓪𝓜𝓪𝓵𝓪*🙌

  • After watching this video, it became clear to me that several of my coworkers are direct descendants of hippos. Very territorial and grumpy 🤣

  • Fantastic footage, great sightings all and the aerial view of the Sand River was amazing.... Are the Lookout female and her little cub looking thin or is it just me?

  • Thank you once again for sharing the many sightings you see. It was so good to see the Nkuhumas once again and to see the lookout female with her cub. What a grumpy water dance the hippos do for area.

  • Great video! The Lookout female and her cub are beautiful. The rising water levels in the Sand River is due to climate change or the rainy season in South Africa?

  • The reason they need to be in water is because their skin would be burnt to a crisp otherwise
