This is the rare moment a hyena clan rescued one of its fallen members from a brutal lion attack.
Sivert Brendmoe was on safari at Londolozi Game Reserve, South Africa, on September 7 when a lion pride suddenly launched an attack on a stray hyena.
Epic footage captured the four lions bringing down the unusual prey with one of the males pinning it to the ground by its throat.

    • Animals don’t just attack anything. For example some people walk through this wilderness like Maasai. The animals get aggressive when it’s dark. During the day lions do not easily attack humans unless they feel threatened. Lions have different temperament from tigers and leopards. Tigers and leopards are more dangerous to humans. Also you’ll notice lions do not consume hyena and same goes with humans. Lions in the wild rarely attack humans. In zoos they do because they live under different circumstances.

This lion caught himself solo, as the others drifted off after initially beginning a flank move. The hyenas then moved in gradually with their own flanking move upon the initially unaware lion. Each then, tentatively asserted themselves upon the other, back and forth withe hyenas asserted their territory until the message was gotten by the solo lion who realized it was a no-win to stick around. What a stunning battle.
