MalaMala Safari Moments: Episode 231.
- An Ndhzenga male chases a cheetah while wild dogs watch and then chase a baboon!
- Baboons playing.
- A large herd of elephants.
From MalaMala Game Reserve to wherever you are in the world, we'll bring you moments from our daily safaris in one of Africa's most iconic private game reserves. This is essentially a continuation of our 'Rangers in Isolation' series which was filmed during the national Lockdown.

  • Helluva sightings & scenes🔥The bulked-up Ndzhenga King is on the warpath defining his territory scraping the ground with his hind feet but the cheetah knows it has speed on its side & can execute quick turns for a getaway. 'Double the trouble' the wild dogs have their own game going on teasing back & forth with the baboons, comical & playful antics swinging from the hanging branch. Awe-inspiring landscape & environment with beckoning views along the River of Life with an abundance of wildlife❤Thank you so much, *𝓜𝓪𝓵𝓪𝓜𝓪𝓵𝓪*👏

  • I personally have witnessed wild dog’s hunting and running down very large male baboons in Mana pools Zimbabwe many times over the years .. there the wild dogs have mastered the art of hunting baboons . They just run the baboons till they are exhausted then go in all sides and rip it to pieces.

    • according to the wildlife guard over there it is vice versa? the dogs moved to another place because the baboons were dominating them?

    • @@KeKs4LoL totally false .. that’s not true at all . If they moved it’s because of too many humans visiting the area , this stresses them out . Why don’t you contact Nick Murry at Bushlife safari as he knows the dogs better than anyone in Mana pools. As I have mentioned… I personally have witnessed the dogs hunting the baboons on many occasions . They have no fear for them . Baboons will run up trees to evade predators such as leopards . We came to the conclusion that if the baboons thought these were like leopards they shouldn’t run up trees because leopards run up trees also . Hence the reason why the baboons just run past the trees but they don’t have the endurance of the dogs thus get exhausted to the point where they just stop running .

    • ​@@navinshah9075Silly question. Lion, although I would rather be a lioness than a lion. Cheetahs are endangered, down to 5500 or less in wild. Being a solitary cat is hard. Just in a one on one paw race this contest is a joke, almost like the cheetah giving him a rest/lead, never even came close to applying afterburners.

  • That's a cheetah mother @ 0:59 deliberately stopping and jogging to lure the 🎉big lion away from its cubs' hideout. But I have seen a most perplexing video made by African big cat experts, showing male cheetahs being "suicidally killed" by lions because the smaller cats were totally focused on settling turf wars with other male rivals. Even the experts admitted never seeing this behaviour before or explain why the cheetahs refused to flee even after seeing the approaching mortal danger.

    • The African Wild dog is the most successful hunter in Africa. Teamwork always win.

    • The Chacma male was likely only seeking to deter the wild dogs far enough from its troop. However, there was also enough dogs, that should the pack have decided to hunt the baboon it would have been treed or killed. Likely injuring a few dogs but certainly fled or killed.
