rockstar have probably learnt their lesson from the definitive edition, so there still could be a chance
IIRC, R* outsourced the GTA III Definitive Edition (Grove Street Games) and have since decided to no longer outsource any future projects. If they do it in-house (questionable with GTA VI in development), then they might be able to right their wrongs.
@@JonstoneMCF As I understand it a different company is handling the mobile versions of the Definitive Edition games and they're doing a MUCH better job of it. Now if Rockstar would get this version onto PC and consoles....

I think maybe you should replay RDR 1 and RDR 2. John mentions why Arthur isn't mentioned in the 1st game. To my knowledge there's very little or no inconsistencies at all.

GTA 5 had the best missions but this was the best next gen GTA game. The physics were amazing and the game itself was way better. I just can't get an Xbox for one old game but GTA races online were peak fun
i only have ps4 but i think xbox is worth it because you can play other og games like all the old call of dutys and gta san andreas and 4 OG idk why playstation doesnt do this all they do is have garbage irrelevent games

If it releases on Nintendo switch, there will be little to no graphical changes but the details that you mentioned might be in the switch version.
I don't care about a remake, if they just port it with 4k resolution and 60 fps then I'll be happy. I recently went out of my way to take my PS3 out of storage just to play GTA IV and it was unplayable. The framerate constantly drops and the the resolution is very low and blurry. It felt like I was playing a fuzzy slideshow. If they just fix performance issues then I'll be more than happy, especially the FPS because in order to fully enjoy the physics, you need good framerate.
GTA 7 will be re master of GTA 4 🍰 and GTA 5 will be re master for GTA 8

That's also what I speculate, except GTA 7 probably will be based on the whole state of New York/East coast, then GTA 8 will be based on the whole entire West Coast and this time include San Fierro and Las Venturas. Then maybe GTA 9 will be based on a new city, but I'm pretty sure we'll probably all be old af by the time GTA 9 comes out at the rate they're releasing games.

If they're considering not to remaster RDR1 and GTA IV, simply because of the DE Trilogy backlash, good! The modding community doesn't need to worry about DMCA takedowns just for a dog water "remaster" of these two. The modding community is doing a better job anyway.

GTA 4 on the switch would be legendary
People crying about the Roman calls never made sense to me. Just decline call, they weren't forced upon you. Roman ruining missions was a hilarious touch, I remember Niko telling Roman he couldn't hang out because he was driving a truck full of explosives. Roman is supposed to be clingy, so it's not a bug on Rstar's part, Niko himself even gets annoyed with him eventually. Changing that would ruin his character tbh. Notice how it was only Roman who got annoying. People also forget how one of the optional girl friends is downright obsessed with Niko, she would get paranoid if I didn't call her everyday. It was an immersive experience.
Playing it on series x right now and playing gta 5 at the same time and I still feel as if they downgraded a bit for gta 5, make 4 4k and it honestly shuts on 5, the physics are incredible

Just mod the PC version of GTA IV. With the monumental mods made by the amazing modding community, IV has already been remastered unofficially.
A remaster or remake is out of the question Rockstar games wont risk doing something closer to GTA VI release What likely gonna happen is re-release on console like PS5 and Nintendo Switch with some minor improvements like higher resolution and 60 FPS and fixing some old bugs and glitches And they will ignore the PC players as usual and make these updates only on consoles

I've been playing Gta 4 at a locked 60 fps on Series X and it has been great. A Remaster would be a hard pass from me when I look at the Gta Definitive Edition and the full priced port of RDR that was 1080p and 30fps. I have the Xbox version that got a free 4K update.
What are you talking about. Rdr1 didnt get a 4k update on xbox and gta4 is not 60fps on xbox.
They have the perfect opportunity to release an "enhanced version" of GTA 4 this year putting it in line with the current gen version of GTA 5 and 2025's GTA 6, a trilogy of optimized HD GTA which could be enjoyed by new fans for years to come
It seems likely this will drop some time before gta6 to keep the hype train moving, and to satiate peoples' appetite

I hope if they ever do release this it be on the switch too but my favorite is GTA V over 4 but hey if they do fix the car physics which wouldn't get my hopes up then I probably will love this a lot more than five but we will see if this happens

I disagree with one thing you said, I think RDR1 is perfect the way it is, I was actually happy that they didn’t make a remake because if they did, there was a chance they’d change some of the dialogue to include Arthur being mentioned. Sure, it’d be better if they mentioned some of RDR2's characters, but then the OG RDR1 would be like a totally different game.

Gta 4s final mission is broken when you jump onto the helicopter your screen bugs out and niko won’t pull himself up and you fall off and fail the mission. I’ve broken 2 controllers because of that shit I hope they do something about that if they rerelease the game
If I remember correctly it has to do with framerate. Try capping it at 30fps and see if that works. I think if you play at 60fps you have to hit the A button twice as much and fast compared to what it is at 30 (like the ps3 and 360) I'm sorry if I'm wrong but I did play this on pc and I did beat the last mission on PC and I think that's what I had to do
I tried for some reason the console settings it does nothing I can’t really mess w the frame rate it’s self I can only change it from 1080p to 720p I might have to look into it more but I’m over it at this point it was so long ago I just play tbogt anytime I want to go into the open world
Lol, final missions of TBoGT are teg worst. GTA 4 never gave me problems at the final mission. Only on some earlier missions. I remember hitting the keyboard of my brand new laptop cause of that museum mission in GTA 4, back in the early 2014. Damaged it a little bit.

8:28 I think the call during that mission was intentional and not random... The calls are usually muted during other missions.

Is not RDR1 fault that RDR2 story contradict the lore and story of RDR1 doing retcons and contradictions. Rockstar doing RDR2 decide to created 19 new gang members that never existed in RDR1 to begin with, making a huge disconnection between both games lore and story. only people who played RDR1 first in 2010 notice how much the story of RDR2 99% feels like filler because doesn't matter to the lore and story of RDR1. Saying that RDR1 should match RDR2 lore or story is bullshit because RDR1 came out first, RDR2 is the one who should have match the lore and story of RDR1 being a prequel but it didn't. Both games feel like two different time lines because what John marston says about the past in RDR1 doesn't match with what you see in RDR2.

Its not a dissapontment for gta6 to gta6 it show how rockstar care for there games the longer the better or we can keep complaining bout this and that and we'll get another cyberpunk cause no one knows how to be patient. when gta6 is done we can possibly get a gta4 remake,rdr1 remake,midnight club 5 is possible or/and rdr3 which we'll have wait longer.

I've recently been playing gta4 on my pc and it runs fine for me I mean that sucks if people are having performance issue and a remastered would be much appreciated though I doubt R* would make improvements but aside from that gta4 on pc works, I get more fps which is way better than when I played on ps3.

A remake is not necessary, but a remaster that fixes the broken setting, the errors of the PC version. improve the lighting a little without being all polished and shiny like ray tracing and make 4k textures, it would be more than enough to sell well, but at the minimum it has errors, worse performance, terrible optimization, like the trilogy, it would be a disaster A problem with GTA 4 is that they would have to remaster practically 3 games rdr1 needs a director's cut
That's the dumbest fuckin complaint I ever heard. RDR2 addresses WHY Arthur is never mentioned in RDR. No need to force some useless throwback when it is made clear that Marston is trying to follow Arthur's actual advice by "never looking back". The kid, Jack, even asks Marston about this and both Marston and Abigail both understand that honoring Arthur's sacrifice means moving forward completely, just like Arthur asked.
For the 2024 release window, that would probably be unreasonable, the trailer was released way ahead of schedule due to leaks

I think R* could do it like Thais, new GTA VI as planes, and do a remake or overal remaster on GTA IV but making it very very realístic phisics gráfics ultra real, and use that as a test to see what people prefer. comparing with GTA VI or GTA V

as a very long time player of gta iv (since it came out on pc basically), i have to say- most people boost the saturation and it makes the game look VERY ugly and old. play it with its original settings and muted color pallet- and it'll look WAY better. also, i do agree with you on the lack of car customization being unfortunate- but i love how this game is very focused, so haircuts, tattoos, etc. wouldn't make too much sense- especially as niko is an older guy and he's also not really too indulgent.

I'm not a tech guy but I really hope the physics are closer to GTA IV in GTA 6, hopefully it won't cause performance issues on current gen hardware. Physics like that were very ambitious for 2005 hardware . Hopefully 15 years is enough time for the tech to advance enough for current gen to handle it.

It's funny because when we were all anticipating the release of GTA V, everybody including myself hated GTA IV. Then after GTA V came out, I enjoyed the game but quickly found that they nerfed the physics and many details that GTA IV had were taken out. It made me appreciate GTA IV more, but now after a decade of Rockstar milking GTA V, I'm pretty sure we're all sick of GTA V. We'll probably appreciate GTA V again once Rockstar milks GTA 6 for too long, hopefully not another 10+ years.
