With GTA 6 on the horizon, I wanted to try and figure out what keeps me coming back to GTA Online and what I hope to see change or stay the same in the future. This is my experience with GTA Online and how I became so invested in the first place.

Great bit of analysis going on here. As you said, GTA Online is so gargantuan that actually trying to dissect it is a challenge. I think you really pulled it off. Regarding your concerns at the end of the video about it being meandering, try not to let self-doubt take too much control. If you continue making videos in this style then you're onto a real winner. To be more specific, the first half of the video does a perfect job of using what was added to the game to show how it affected the player experience (for both you and for others). Anecdotes about players identifying the best launch missions to make money, rockstar's 30k/30min approach, passive income leading to price inflation... all these elements really give depth and richness to the story. It made it really clear how things played out, but also why they played out as they did. I played GTA Online for years and this made me appreciate that experience more than I already did. You may be correct that the second half is a wee bit meandering. I'd say the momentum of the video carries it through to the end, but there is a bit of a "this happened, then this happened" without much sense of cause and effect. Thinking of that classic bit of advice from Matt Stone & Trey Parker, where they suggest aiming for "therefore" and "but" as conjunctives rather than "and then". I'm not sure I'm well-positioned to give writing advice here; I don't think I've cut my teeth on "proper" writing long enough, but since you mentioned it's your first time writing out a script, here's my two cents. Scripts always start with a core idea, but it's easy to lose sense of it once you're knee-deep in writing. I like to write out my main direction in just a sentence, then keep it in view while I'm writing. If I ever feel lost, I try to pull the prose back to that core concept, then continue. It gives me just enough freedom to go on tangents, so long as they return to the main focus. Anyway, love the video, excited to see more. Subscribed

Hey! This was informative actually from a non gta online player perspective. Tried to play in the past and was immediately overwhelmed with everything going on, not to mention the amount of pvp griefing lol. Also, most of the videos online are from sources that already assume that the player has familiarity with all the game’s systems. This video right here definitely helps me wrap my head around what exactly makes the game enticing and worth the grind. Great video as always! Also, would love to hear your perspective on rdr online, which I thought had a lot of potential.

Dude please keep doing what you’re doing honestly this video alone was refreshing to watch. I’ve been back on this game for the last month or so and been grindingggg haven’t really played since the start of the game and when I came back on I was overwhelmed by all the new content lol
GTA online always felt to me like it was as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle, with a lack of identity. Every couple years I’d come back and check on it, and it would never have the foundational gameplay loop to keep me hooked in and actually want to make money

Honestly I wouldn't even say it's shallow, the game does have a bit of an identity crisis and a plethora of problems but the action, and crazy missions is everything gta stands for. The customisation and content is unrivalled by any open world crime game out there, you can turn it into what you want and do what you want.
to me it has zero depth, its just pretends it has. the missions are a pain in the ass most of times only so you could buy cars and clothes. then you find out you might aswell use a simple native trainer in the singleplayer on pc to spawn any of those for free and have triple the fun.
@@TheRastafarianStuffyea the missions are too long especially for solo players. The forced cutscenes are way too long, like 5 minute cutscenes you have to watch. People got kids and jobs we aint got time for that. The AI is ridiculously accurate. Like does every single NPC have to be a sharpshooter? The game is fun but has many flaws as well. The online mods and hackers in the servers are rampant as well. Everyone seems to be cheating in the official servers
@@nobobyelse1789 im not mad at cutscenes if they are well made and have a reason to be there, I enjoy them no matter how long they are. thats why i rather have those same dlcs for the single player so I can enjoy the missions and what come with them by myself without having to get 3 or more people at the same, but thats utopia for current R* - virtually, all the GTAO content will disappear with the servers once they are done milking it. but imagine having that on SP
Ok. Wow. Seriously, I’m blown away and quite anxious for the next episode. I’ve been playing GTAO since 2016, have logged an obscene number of hours in the game (well over 4.5k, which I’m certainly not proud of), and consistently watch GTA content creators on KZhead. In all my years of watching this odd form of entertainment, there are but a handful of videos that truly stick out as being exceptional. This one, clearly, has earned my top spot. As someone who still plays the game daily yet is easily bored with the generic GTAO content that most creators put out (regurgitated, stale material that has been done 20x before by others), this video is truly. Breath of fresh air. Well edited, higher production value, it’s is obvious that genuine effort went in to creating this piece, and I certainly applaud it. Thank you, sir, for providing this phenomenal content and I very much am looking forward to the next installment. ❤❤😊

I played GTA5 when it first dropped the first online experience was ok but there was nothing much to do once you bought everything they had at the time so I stopped playing. Fast forward to the GTA6 hype. I began playing online again 3 month ago. While there was A LOT to figure out I definitely been having fun. Grinding out a decades worth of content. Sucks I’m a solo player and prob won’t ever complete All the heists but I own all business and I don’t feel so overwhelmed like I didn’t in the beginning. Looking forward to part 2
