You should have some manners young man, you should say "more, more, more please"
@@InternetRob That is what I like about GTA4 it had so many things in the game but half of it was cut out of the game I hope they remastered the game
I really loved the driving physics in 4. I remember everyone complaining at the time but the cars having weight really made handling fun during races
it also made drifting a lot more fun to do
i like it more than gta 5 driving, but i still prefer the driving mod of gta 4. mixes the 2 games in perfect driving
Thanks fart
Also if you put the farthest camera it look like a movie pursuit can clearly see the side of the car all moving suspension and side deformation when turning
Driving was my favorite thing about it
GTA IV has loads of realistic and immersive features. When you shoot tyres they gradually deflate, police officers will spawn in raincoats when it rains and you can pick up cans, bricks, etc and throw them at things. It's a shame all these little things weren't in GTA V, I hope GTA VI returns to IVs realism.
I'm hopeful after RDR2 and the response that game got for it's realism that rockstar will add these features for publicity and PR alone. You couldn't escape the articles/videos about horse balls changing between warm and cold environments
Same for its gunplay and Max Payne 3’s and rdr2’s blood effects
think again, they won't it will be worse than gta 5
Judging by how rockstar finally gave into the woke crowd and hired a bunch of diversity hires, I am willing to bet money GTA 6 will be the worst in the series.
@@Solinvic you know how much money they made with GTA Online and how they didnt do that with RDR2? Yeah GTA VI won't be very realistic.
The sound design in GTA IV is honestly amazing. I was completing the Francis McReary mission shooting the gang in the apartment buildings and I noticed the sounds of the indoor gunshots being echoed and having more bass. Honestly 10/10 game
I still love this game
GTA IV was soo ahead of its time it's incredible
My ex wife was ahead of my time when she took my kids and left
@@FrankCf44💀
It is still delivering
That would imply that games today are better
camagin was hella boring and repetitive
I love attention that you give to GTA IV, I feel like this game gets too lost in between San Andreas and V, but in my opinion, it's the one that deserve the most attention, seeing the amount of work that they put in this game still shocks me, I didn't even know most of the things that you showed us in this video, this game is from 2008, the fact that people are still finding details never seen before says a lot about how masterfully done this game is, love your content, keep up the absolutely amazing work!
It's their fault for optimising it for pc so badly
Well put 🔥
@@gjeraldh2989 it takes 2min to make it run well
@ same thing for sa you basicaly needs mod to make gta sa steam edition even playable due to game breaking bugs that can corrupt save games and missions from being finished/Completed
Gta sa was ahead of its time honestly not surprising
GTA IV has a relatively small world, this is why it's my favorite, because it's so detailed, there's no other city in the game industry that is so great as LC.
I’m still wishing that gta 6 will have a small, detailed world like 4, but I know rockstar is making it 800 square miles or whatever so they can brag about it to the press
@@christmastreebag1659 Yeah, you're probably unfortunately right.
I agree - although the city does still feel sizeable, they definitely sacrificed rural areas that surround NYC to make Liberty City feel more like a metropolis. I think Los Santos in 5 was way too small, they should’ve cut that whole other part of the map out, it’s so uninteresting, there’s literally a trailer town and then some ass end town with next to nothing to do in it, then miles of greenery; but there’s no hunting to do or anything within this greenery. There’s only so many times I want to climb that mountain or break into the army base. No joke you can reach the airport from the Vinewood sign in like 3 to 4 minutes with a fast vehicle - if they’d just concentrated on making Los Santos huge it would’ve been a better choice overall.
On top of that Alderney is actually meant to be New Jersey, so they managed to cram NYC and Jersey City into one map.
@@maxpayneful4328 Los Santos literally takes up a quarter of the map! The only part of GTA IV that really felt unique was Broker and Algonquin. I agree, Paleto Bay was a little uninspired but Mount Chiliad, the Alamo Sea, Sandy Shores and the surrounding Blaine County is just brimming with things to see and do. Don’t get me wrong, I love both games but GTA IV really needed a couple of biomes like the Pine Barrens or Long Island.
You actually feel you're in NYC when you play GTA IV. That's how amazing the immersion is.
nice to see there’s still a huge community that loves GTA 4
I finished this game probably 5 or 6 times, played hundrets of hours, but there, still stuff I've never seen. Crazy that a game from 2008 is more detailed than most of the games nowadays.
Can you help me unlock the next city, I'm stuck. See my above post. I found the solution and the next mission. Yeppie!
San Andreas which is four years older is even more detailed than GTA 4, yes, that's really crazy. Rockstar's potential cannot be underestimated.
I swear I don’t pay GTA IV way more than I ever played GTA V
i once saw the postman, but never again after that
He's so rare, but drive around looking for mailboxes between 7 and 9 AM and you should eventually find him.
@@InternetRob hey bro.. i hope you're doing good. I'm using your mods in GTA San Andreas. When I'm on LOS SEPULCROS Mission the game crashes after cutscene. Many people says that it's because of story mode 2.0.sadly i don't know how to fix that issue. 😥 Have you faced the same issue during LOS SEPULCROS Mission? Can you help me to fix that issues.
@@ambikaiselvanmuthukumar2743 buy the game
@@jamesheller9185 i already bought the game from steam. How many times should I buy the same game?
@@ambikaiselvanmuthukumar2743 Buy it again
I still remember when I saw first trailer for GTA IV back in 2007, I was like WTF and my jaw dropped. I bought the PC version the very first day. I am obsessed with this game more than I was with SA. The details is one reason why I love this game but what's even more attractive to me is this game feels grounded unlike other ones. It has a nice relation between humor and seriousness, it feels like being home even if I'm not living in a city. This game has a soul :-)
For me, GTA4 was the first intro to realistic gaming. It was also my departure from gaming all together. I got GTA 5, played the campaign once, and never played it again. However, I put ENDLESS hours into 4 before 5 came out.
I picked up V upon release (console) and literally put it down after about an hour, I was so disappointed. I had to wait until PC release with a shitload of mods before I even finished the campaign. IV on the other hand I played over and over again putting a ridiculous amount of time into it.
The car wash fact is actually so cool, most people think that the writings on the walls are just there to add detail but sometimes they have actual gameplay mechanics. awesome
Exactly. Rockstar weren't fucking around with the car washes 😅
I blame the fake prices on Clucking Bell and Burger Shot to people ignoring what was writing in the car wash
I wondered if I drive a taxi into a car wash is it $3, I was too lazy to actually do it
I love IV since I bought it back in high school, and there’re so many details that rockstar really put some efforts in it. For example, I’m a car guy, and I took so many times driving around the map, and man, I love the fact that you get to decide either leaving a car while the engine is running, or turning it off by holding the exit button, you could even heard the sound of hand brakes.
and clutches, too! For real!
@@farwahbatool6247 what about clutches? Was there a manual driving mode I didn't know about.
@@sam8404 with mods yes but in vanilla you just hear yourself using it as you drive in cars that are supposed to have them as you'd expect
@@sam8404 no, i mean when you drive, you can hear sounds of car's pedals.
You might have noticed the engines have thermal tick when turning them off too.
Love how this man doesnt waste our time. Its exactly what he advertises the video to be and gets right into it with no filler. 💯💯💯
Because he isn't an American KZheadr 😉
Americans always talk too much on videos, my dad pointed this out to me when I used to watch Battle Bots and Robot Wars on TV.

This game is so under appreciated for the insane level of not just detail but genuine passion put into it definitely worth playing despite its sequel (in some ways I’d say it’s actually better most notably in the physics)
It’s so amazing that a game from 2008 has all these details and physics run so well
Now, games are just here to milk people purse... Sad sad era
It runs horribly, basically unplayable without heavy modifications on PC, and it's stuck on legacy hardware Xbox 360 and PS3, the largest reasons it isn't played nor remembered as much as Vice City, San Andreas or GTA 5.
What? It runs terrible on modern PCs . I had to spend a whole day pathching it before it got at least playable
@@abbas-aliibnmohammadal-nam929 I don't know how anyone actually finished this beta game. With all the friends calling me from boroughs away while I'm trying to explore, I had to quit for the second time. That is the most annoying feature I have literally ever seen in a game and has led me to make the decision to never play another Rockstar game ever again. If it has their name on it, I won't even consider it.
@@Grandmaster-Kush you can play it on xbox series s and x at 60fps
This is amazing, I'm glad to see GTA 4 is still relevant to talk about. I still love this game and everything in it. And i still think it's the best GTA of all time.
Yep I totally agree with you
Gta 4 sucked so little features and the driving and melee felt clunky
@@hirun6459 amen
@@DiamondHoe well good luck with that thinking, 👍 you obviously haven't matured yet having that pre-pubescent mind set. GTA 4 was ahead of it's time, it felt more mature and dark. Better weapon handling, vehicle handling, combat skills, and speaking of the melee. Each character feels the hits from the fists and bats all the way to the knife feeling the cuts. In GTA 5, they go down instantly like you're playing in god mode or something. Absolutely nothing felt better than hearing that loading music in GTA 4 and hearing Niko speak for the first time. I grew tired of hearing " why did i move here? " no one cares
@@JasonA1124 wtf 😭
I had no idea about the destructive environment parts asides from the dinasour, since that's inevitable during the museum shootout mission, but that legit blew my mind.
15 years, I recently got around to replaying it and the episodes and its incredible how much there is to still discover
7:02 spat my coffee out 😂
0:21 When I first saw this npc I was surprised by level of detail and subtle storytelling which this game provides.
The amount of beauty and serenity in the game is amazing I’m downloading project birds right now. It’s such a subtle change to the game but I love it.
I remember rushing across town to pick this game up at midnight to be greeted by a line of people through the width of the shop. Noooooo, jumped in the car & shot across to my local Asda to find only 5 people in line. Yessssss! Fired up GTA IV & watched a policeman roll down his window to throw an apple core onto the street. I knew at this point that this was truly the future.
policemen littering sums up the excellence of GTA IV haha, great comment
Fort Kinnaird? Lol
It's crazy how the mailman was a beta feature but you can still sometimes spot them in the game. Always tried to find him when I played back in the day and couldn't find him.
How is an NPC a feature? Are you saying in the beta you could play as a mailman?
I'm convinced the people working at Rockstar between San Andreas and IV were some of the biggest wizards in gaming history. They gave us San Andreas, and then the handheld games (Chinatown Wars, VCS, LCS) and then IV. LCS and VCS might have just been the old games rehashed, but IV was such an impressive marvel of detail, realism and just technological achievement that I still adore it to this day. It makes me mad when people whine about the driving physics. It takes patience to go around a corner, you're not hitting a turn at 90mph like in GTA V.
When I first clicked on this video, I was convinced it was going to be mostly stuff I already knew but it wasn’t! I knew none of these details! Amazing the love and attention the developers really put into this game, sad to think about the future of Rockstar without Dan but hopefully Sam will continue to deliver a product that lives up to the standard we all hold Rockstar to.
The ghost cars are super clever. It always amazed me how they created this super immersive city simulation and run it with acceptable performance.
GTAIV and acceptable performance are not something I expected to hear. 😅
I'm from the future and can confirm the video is a banger 😎
Bro can make mods irl now ! 😭🤌
ya same can also conform
IV = 4
The more time goes by the more you appreciate stuff like this.
4:45 I laughed on this part haha
One of my favorite details is how easy it is to limit your body count. Unlike GTA V they don't just die instantly whehn you take their health to zero, if they can get up and wander around licking their wounds, they won't shoot at you, but they also don't get added to your body count. There's also pacifists in the game, which almost literally nobody mentions
You had been my most favorite gta I’ve KZheadr! You’re back along with the healthy epic GTAIV!
Dude that was actually amazing! I had no idea it had so many hidden details!
06:32 😂😂😂
Unbelievable how much attention to detail GTA 4 has... a game that's released in 2008 is still being further discovered! Great video, my man 😃
One of the best open world games ever made. In fact, it’s one of the best games ever! This game proves that love and dedication makes an amazing product. The amount of details in this game is awesome
This is by far the best “things you didn’t know” type videos ever, especially for a game I played a LOT. Don’t recall ever seeing the workers; never tried taking a convertible through a car wash; thought I knew everything about the ice cream van but certainly didn’t know about the cheat! I think I’ve donated to buskers but never knew about the ringtone; I did however have the pager ringtone from GTA III I believe, but I don’t recall how that was unlocked.
This game is much more immersive and detailed than 98% of the games from today!
2% being Kingdom Come Deliverance
Wow Rob. You and the community have really suprised me with the stuff I REALLY DIDN"T KNOW about the game! And the editing is trully unique and very pleasant. Great job!
I want more
Thanks Danio, it's nice to see you're still around btw.
3:22 The Ice Cream truck playing the game's theme reminds me of those self-aware indie horror games when something isn't right
I had a car explode near Niko and knock me down with the flying tire, damaging health. Probly the most impressive and funniest moments of GTA4 gameplay.
Happened all the time in the first 2 Saints Row games lmao
what a fucking awesome intro great hook and quick to the point, i wish more youtubers would do intros like that, that's incredible man. great idea
I recently discovered a hidden skatepark, I was baffled to discover something so cool in such a well hidden area, I am sure most of you have already found this too.
I think I know the one you're talking about, under the bridge connecting Algonquin/Broker? It's such a concealed spot, love it.
Yep. I and the blokes had a lot of fun driving a Huntley on that well-secluded skatepark
It's crazy after over a decade of playing the game I found skate parks that I had never known about. I remember knowing about that one under the bridge, but I found another one. I assumed there were only three but now I think there's upwards of 5 or so.
@@Blahsheep Damn, you all are making me want to play the game again, it's been a few years. I only remember 2 or 3, but I'm not surprised to hear there's more. I've always loved how Rockstar manages to hide so many things in their maps. To me, exploring and discovering new things is as much fun as the core gameplay.
That was one of the spots everybody went to with motorcycles back in the days online, it was so fun
7:08 Vsauce be like
Trip Michael here
The room at the top of the highrise that you use in a mission is also a great representation of destructible environments. I remember blowing off the sides of the pillars during the mission and always came back to wreak havoc. I don't remember the location exactly, but it's on the edge of Central Park towards Time Square, think it starts with an "M". On the roof there's a sitting area with a glass cover and a stairway down into the penthouse
Owned every GTA since 3 and this was the first I ever fully completed - I’ve found myself never really wanting to revisit it as I always felt I had already had the fullest experience of that game I was going to get, but this video has made me really want to commit to replaying it all these years later
Never knew about the buskers restoring health, I thought they only give a new ringtone for the player. Its awesome how GTA IV has that much level of attention-to-detail despite being an old game, goes to show that this game is very worthy of praise and appreciation. Welcome back, Rob! Quality content as always, keep it up! #keepGTA4alive #GTAIV
4:16 ah yes, cyberpunk 2077 cars
Absolutely brilliant! So many great small details! It really make the world feel real, lived in, and immersive! So cool! Ths physics and destruction were fantastic too! Good stuff, man! 😁👍🏻
I've seen the telephone repair guy only once and I honestly thought I just made it up in my head cause I've never seen them again even after years of playing the game.
damn thats insane
I've been waiting for your next video and didn't disappoint, it still blows me away how detailed and immersive GTA IV was for a 7th Generation 2008 game. Tremendous work!
thanks a bunch mate
0:36 this line aged perfectly 🤣
Virus virus virus🤣
Love your channel, always coming up with high quality and valuable information videos.
When chased by the cops by car, if you stand in front of a pedestrian (kinda using it as a human shield) the cops in their car will not slam the pedestrian just to hit you, instead they get behind you (getting the ped out of their way) , trying not to hit the pedestrian and potentially save a civilian life.
This was an excellent lil video Rob. I’ve been playing this game since I was 13 years old and was surprised how much of this info was brand new to me. Very glad I found your channel recently. Easily one of the most creative and dedicated folks in the GTA community
So cool. This was always my favorite GTA, maybe because it really does the diversity of NY (Liberty) city so well, or because they got the lighting perfect at dusk and dawn. Going to boot it up and try to see some the details you mentioned. Thanks!
it's been a while since I've been surprised w/ something related to old gta games so, good job!
even after 400 hours of GTA 4, i learned something new today. thanks Rob!
perfect, it was my pleasure mate.
Got this recommended randomly, glad I got it. Really interesting how much details Rockstar packed into this game
welcome, thanks for giving it a watch mate.
0:53 Made my day hahahahahaha
And 7:00 "Lots of sun but you don't need a dumb bitch to tell you that" 🤣
everything fits together so beautifully in gta iv it has something special that no other game in the series does, not even the episodes
Wow, I never seen those delivery drivers, thought that this scenario is broken or unused, but damn, cool stuff!
to this date, GTA4 managed to capture the most realistic setting, scenery, story and overall unique experience. GTA5 did not do the same.
I loved your video. the shots, the editing and the narration. it is perfect
Yes! Finally! Another banger from Internet Rob in years. I already know it's gonna be a banger. Pls make GTA TBOGT with mods. I've been waiting for that video for 200+ years and it's about time
Super happy to see more GTA IV content Rob. I was one of your first few subscribers back when you first made this channel and I’m so glad to see it grow!
Thanks azzy, you're real one.
This was by far the best of them all so far
editing is immaculate youve got a new subscriber!
I've literally been comming back to your channel to download mods again and again you inspired me to make my own remaster
Rob you have a really special channel here my dude! I have done countless playthroughs and never noticed most of these! I guess things like the radio weather and time of day acknowledgements is so immersive that one doesn't even notice. A testament to how well crafted GTA IV is! Love your videos man, we can only hope for a remaster of this game one day with improved PC performance however that is unlikely.
GTA IV's immersion levels are off the chart, you just have to allow yourself to sink into that world... thanks for all the kind words.
GTA IV is the most realistic. Honestly feels like real life - Hanging with Jacob, Roman & Packie!
Just seen this. A great video, but I love the fact that from the first second you are getting straight to the point of video! No unnecesarry intros or cringe or something, only great content! Deserved a sub.
Thanks for this video man, I had no idea about any of the things you showed here. Well done and keep up the good work buddy.
Damn this shocks me😳..the amount of work they put into this game is insane.✨ Excellent work Rob ❤️
Welcome back, Rob x Gah damn, I actually learned something new. Usually videos like these just say the same things over and over again, but I should've guessed that you'd actually put some real effort in, as you always do. Good work, my friend
I seriously dislike those videos that just copy from the findings of other people. But catsmackaroo, whatever57010, Alexander PolyAK, and BadgerGoodger are reliable for showcasing many genuine findings.
3:00 I love that people are STILL making mods to help improve immersion in this game. L.O.V.E IT!
I think what justifies the health increase when tipping the buskers might be that the health system in gta iv is not exclusively physical but mental aswell. So It's a fun way to look at it really.
This game hides so many secrets and details... it's fascinating the good care they took for
It's been a while since you posted your last video. Welcome back Rob!
The radio has so many cool dialogue sequences I always love the weazel news updates after certain events in the story.
Amazing work on the video
The attention to detail in this game is immense
This guy's videos just never dissapoint
Omggggg love every bit of details and videos of course 💯🙌
there are things about GTA SA that i really loved. the setting, the variety, the world seeming so grand, the humor. then came IV and EfLC and they completely redefined what an open world game could feel like. they were the absolute pinnacle of GTA. V could have been the best of both worlds - but unfortunately it was just a step back. since then, RDR2 and the leaked VI material have given me some hope for the next installment, but R* / T2 will probably make many mistakes out of greed again (see GTAO). let's hope for the best.
Yes GTA4 is best in series overall imo. 2008 was a great year for gaming in general they had nice immersion and attention to details like Far Cry 2, MGS4, F3, DMC4, Dead Space etc etc and ofcourse GTA4.
Great video! Reading the comments it's amazing to realize there's still so many GTA IV fans out there. One thing I have been wondering about myself since the release is the following. When driving around LC with the voice navigation on, occasionally the "pim-pom" turn signal given by the navigation is substituted with a vocal version. In your thousands of hours of playing this game have you gotten close to figuring out what is the reason behind this seemingly random behaviour? Seems like an easter egg to me, but I'm still wondering is there any more depth to the pattern of occurence?
GTA IV will never die, it is too good 🌺
Yeah, it happens all the time. It’s just a little detail to make you go “huh? did I hear that right?” and it’s so funny.
Actually for most gta games, propane tanks are a good way to eliminate a lot of enemies at once, if you are lucky enough to find one in the correct spot.
i am really impressed wit this. i see a ton of GTA "things you diddnt know" and tbh i know all of them, this one actually had some really un noticable stuff. hearing the radio realllllly makes me wanna boost it up and actually play the story mode
My favourite instalment of the GTA series. I adore the hell out of it!
7:20 the mental state of the average londoner
The more I watch these the more I realize this game is the game I know the most about, every video I know at least a couple of the details mentioned, still one of my favorite games to this day
