It takes a staff of 2,400 people working day and night to keep Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas sailing. From tiny cruise-ship kitchens, chefs whip up 30,000 meals a day. All waste onboard is dealt with in secret, crew-only areas of the ship. And the engine room and captain’s bridge work together to power and move the floating city. We go below deck on one of the world’s largest cruise ships.

  • "Quay" is not KWAAY, it's pronounced KEY.

  • It still amazes me how something so massive can float. Same with massive planes flying. Great video!

  • I'm a cruiser and have taken many. I just recently done Encore ( Norwegien) . i went solo. My first solo, i just wanted to try it out. I loved the solo cabin. The ship had over 4'000 people, way more than i was use to. It was not enjoyable. They nickeled and dimed you for everything. The morning of the last day was a pain and took forever, so many people waiting to get off the ship, not good. My best cruise experinces would have to be Princess from out of San Francisco. Smaller ships and less people to me are by far much enjoyable. You pay all that money why not enjoy : less people, chaos, quality of food, able to move around, can go freestyle wben it comes to dinning, can go to any show and it's enough sitting for everyone, you are not nickle and dimed. This ship is just toooooooooooooo much. I love people and getting to know the crew, that means alot to me. I'm 65 and i love being at sea and dressing up ( Captain's night). God bless you all.

  • I went on a cruise on Harmony of the Sea in October. I loved everything about the trip. Nothing negative. Anxiously awaiting my next cruise. . The crew were outstanding. The food absolutely the best. Love , Love , Love. And I an older lady of 76.

  • I've been on Symphony of the Seas as well as the new Wonder of The Seas, Oasis of the Seas and Spectrum of the Seas. The Oasis class ships are just amazing. I have never felt overwhelmed except during high-lunch times if going to buffets. I don't use the pools, instead I just spend my time relaxing by drinking, walking, seeing shows and taking my time. There are plenty of areas to find solace, the ships are so huge you don't realize there are thousands (except during launch/end day). I enjoy city life, so these ships bring that level of familiarity on my trips. Don't get me wrong, you wont get the same level of personal service as you do on a smaller ship or a luxury cruise, but if you want to experience what it might be like going on a intergalactic cruise of the future, these ships are it!

  • Mind blowing what it takes to facilitate these cruises BUT ....

  • Convinced me to never be in a port when this ship is there.

  • What a logistics nightmare. Absolutely amazing.

  • Way too large for me. In 2022 we took at Viking cruise from Sweden around the Baltic to Denmark, Poland, Germany and Norway. The ship had seven hundred passengers on it, not seven thousand! And once you sail on Viking you can't go back.... no kids, no casinos, no fees to eat in special restaurants, no art shows, no roaring tunes by the pool, it was lovely.

  • This was a thoroughly enjoyable and at times jaw-dropping tour of a floating city that operates at a Five Star level.

  • I do not see how being on a ship with over 8000 people can be an enjoyable vacation. Not to mention not relaxing.

  • I've cruised a few times, and I still found this video amazing! I gather that the original video was narrated in Russian, and you've done an excellent job in overdubbing it in English.

  • This is straight out of H.G. Wells's Time Machine, in which there are two classes of people. "The Eloi live a banal life of ease on the surface while the Morlocks live underground, tending machinery and providing food, clothing, and inventory for the Eloi."

  • Excellent story, high information density, every second interesting. I imagine the worst part of a cruise is 10,000 people disembarking in a tiny Caribbean port. Maybe better to just stay onboard.

  • Hell on Earth! How anyone can enjoy being surrounded by 8000 people on a floating shopping mall is beyond me.
