Well, one thing that never changes in these "abuse" scenarios is that the mother never says anything about abuse in her home. She should've kept the book for "defense" purposes.

This is an insanely intense, unsettling, and unusual scenario, that got out of hand due to negligence, absence of self respect for oneself and others, a lack of discipline, and permitting yourself and the other person to continue such acts of atrocity. One was enabled the other implied assent, one more than the other. Watching how Ari explored such a strange and unexpected scenario is in fact unique, but allows the mind to wonder, how many people do get away at large with scenarios like this, if not worse, and do we permit it to happen, or do we say something about it?

The character of the mother has the audacity to send the rapist son upstairs to get his father? Even if she didn’t believe that, it was the son who was the predator. Why would she send her son to get the dad.

So I wonder in the beginning of the movie when he caught his son playing with himself and told him it was normal and ok not knowing he was pleasing himself to his dads picture is what made him grow up like that. Not knowing he was really being sick and grew up that way

I wonder if the father initially was the aggressor … remember how he touched his face in the beginning, and he was all smiles. But cut to 14 years later, and the Son has become the aggressor. The dialogue in the last scenes, kind of alluded to the fact that the father turned him into this person. It was a very good short film. From the mother, actually knowing and hiding from the truth, to the way the father reacted to his son being a very monstrous figure (bathroom scene) This was done really well, disturbing content, but done well. Was interesting to see how abuse affects the family, especially when they swapped it making the parent the victim. Sorry for all the grammatical errors I use voice control

Although very disturbing, this is brilliantly executed and shows how this kind of abuse can happen within a family and rot it from the inside out. The role reversible is absolutely genius in showing how children who suffer at the hands of a parent or family member must feel, alone, shameful, and silenced. We can see how easily an adult feels helpless, so imagining how helpless a small child must feel in the same situation.

I just finished watching this short movie. I must admit this is a switch on molestation. The only reason the father didn't come forward was because, he didn't want to ruin his reputation. Instead, he accepted what he knew wasn't right. You catch your son in the bed masturbating and don't know he's masturbating while looking at a pic of you. 😮 Not cool by any means. No concern, conversation or control of a jacked up situation. Your reputation is worth more than your morals? The wife had plans all along. The way she killed her son was bent up emotions held tight for over 10 years. Generational curses...

This movie is the equivalent of the movie about the man who kidnapped his daughter and hide her in the basement for years and had multiple kids by her lol

I remember seeing this years ago. Unfortunately I was able to understand it. It’s wrote this way to see what the child actually goes through. The father never said anything because a child never says anything and when they do nobody believes them. In majority of the cases the mother knows and never says anything to the abuser or stops them. I was able to understand it because unfortunately it was my life at one point.

So I feel like the dad was doing something to the boy that cause the son to gain feelings for his dad. When he was masturbating and his dad talked to him about it and awkwardly caressed his face it gave him the signal of feelings. Then it continued for far longer than it should have. He turned into a monster and his dad groomed him and his dad also felt guilty. The mom knew and i think it shocked her so bad she went into denial. The whole thing was sick but you would be surprised how common this is in families all over. There's no telling what happened to the dad when he was a child. Children do as they are taught and what they see. I pray we all break generational curses/ generational dishonors.
