The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships took place for the first time in the capital of Bulgaria, one of the most successful and influential nations in the discipline. More than 350 gymnasts from 60 nations participated in the championships.

at first i was pretty bitter when linoy won the gold because i'm rooting for the averinas but after watching and watching their olympic performance, it is true that the scoring is not fair but still linoy performed better than dina at other operators...dina was a little bit messy at Olympic...but she proved herself at kitakyushu that she deserves to win that gold
Halkina's performance is soooo refreshing. She's so great. It is a given fact that Dina Averina always amazes me, but damn Halkina is giving me the chills. She's that good

I feel like what these girls do is much more impressive than regular tumbling gymnastics. It's prettier for the eyes, rhythm is important and just looks like it's super hard to pull off on top of everything.

The entire competition just makes you think "astonishing precision, elegance, grace, and beauty." I kept on wondering, how is it even possible that such lovely ladies have gotten so good at what they do. Simply beautiful and super enjoyable to watch.
The gradient ribbons are really mesmerizing to watch even more so than the ribbon performances are anyways.

What I've understood about rythmic gymnastics so far: girls dancing amazingly, and at the end they play the Russian anthem 😂
There 5 apparatuses, clubbs, ribbon, hoop, ball and rope Juniors (age 10 to 15) do all 5 plus sometimes a routine without apparatus But senior (age 16 to the end of your chariere) dont do rope, only ribbon, hoop, clubs and ball The gymnasts are juged on difficulty and execution during the 2 phases of qualifications and finals and at the end there is the award ceremonie where they give medals to the top 3 gymnasts and the national anthem of the top 1 gymnast's countrie is played (most of the time its russia) This was just individuel, there are also groups Its pretty much the same thing bit instead of one gymnast there is a team of 5 and there are multiple apparatus combinations Juniors use 5 ribbons in one of theire routines and 5 balls or 5 hoops in the other ( that means that there are only 2 routines for group ) Seniors use 5 balls in one of their routines and 3 hoops and 2 pairs of clubbs for the other ( they also only perform 2 routines ) When gymnasts go to competitions they compete for medals of serten types (the first day is qualification for hoop and ball, the second day is qualification for ribbon and clubs, the third day is the final for hoop and and ball, the forth day is the final for ribbon and clubs) Then you compete in all around (its basicly one day where you perform all of your routines at once) so the fifth day is the qualification for the all around and the sixth and last day is the final for all around. Im my opinion, Arina was underscored. I found her better than Dina. She deserves the first Place. But Dina is Great and she is a golden Girl. Sasha is still such a beautiful Girl. Her Performance was very good. And don‘t Talk about her Face expression 😍
I agree, Arina was underscored; I'm torn between which is better though. Overall I think Arina had the better performance (by a hair), but if you compare their mistakes, Dina's recovery was much better; Arina's flow stuttered, whereas Dina kept going. Still, a marvellous performance by both of them.

The control in these performances is astounding.
A little trivia, that is NOT AVAILABLE in the Internet. Although Arina and Dina have the same height, Arina has longer legs. That must be why Arina seems to be a more graceful dancer. But Dina is definitely much more adept with whatever apparatus that she is handling. That is what makes her win more championships. The twins have an older sister, Polina, who is, understandably, relatively unknown, compared to the twins. Makes you wonder if she is able to handle the enormous fame of Dina and Arina. Wishing them all, and the viewers out there, a wonderful Christmas season. God bless us all.

I hate how Dina's movements don't match the accents in the music in her clubs routine. I think Arina should have won the clubs final.
this is not how we calculate the scores in rhythmic gymnastics , or at least not in these years(2017-2021)

Why are the difficulty notes all more than 10? Aren't they supposed to be 10 max?
the code of points changed in 2018 so that the D score can be above 10. in 2017 it changed so that judges don't score with a self reported difficulty sheet anymore and score what they see in real time, so a routine's difficulty could go above 10 but capped at 10, and then they removed the cap

If the hair is that long, yes, for safety reasons. If the Gymnast has shorter hair we have seen a little ponytail (like Anna Bessonova, Olena Vitrychenko, Natalia Godunko or Almudena Cid). Natalia Godunko also had braided hair for a while. We also have seen two buns at Dariia Sergeeva in 2019. You can find the rules for the hairstyle for this competition at the Code of Points 2017-2020: 5. Dress of Gymnast 5.1.1 The hair style must be neat and trim and the make-up clear and light. 5.1.2. It is not allowed to wear jewellery or piercings which jeopardize the safety of the gymnast. Todays Code of points 2022-2024 allowes shiny things in the hairstyle: 10. Dress of Gymnast 10.3. The hairstyle must be neat and compact. Decorative details are allowed but they must not be bulky and/or jeopardize the safety of the gymnast. Hair decorations must be close to the bun/compact to the hair (Penalty: 0.30 point if this rule is not met)
