Being born in 1992, you’re not far wrong! Through spending time with the folks introduced me to all the 60-80’s comedies too, Yes Minister of which is my favourite! I first seen to Hull and Back on VHS in 2006 and swore blind that Albert couldn’t be beaten…until I met Grandad! It really does leave you speechless and unable to describe…only those that have seen could claim that.
This almost 25 year old remembers Trigger! Such a hilarious character that Roger Lloyd Pack brought to life perfectly.
Trig was such a great character, and so well acted.

Roger Lloyd Pack was a classic Shakspearian actor. He was well known on the stage. Believe it or not , he played a Rabii's helper or a priest in Fiddler on the Roof.
Never seen a better deadpan face to make me howl with laughter. Thank you to the amazing Roger Lloyd Pack. RIP.

What makes the Wine Bar scene so funny is the look of incomprehension on Trigger's face as he turns round looking in all directions for Del Boy.
The scene where trig gets his medal an talk about broom maintenance is legendary aswell

It's hard to believe Del falling through the bar original did involve Trigger it was only because Roger Lloyd Pack was filming in the opposite studio and didn't have alot to do so he said to John Sullivan "if you have anything for me to do I'm available" and it's Trigger's reaction to Del not being there when he turns round that is the real icing on the cake of this scene.
Roger Lloyd-Pack, John Challis, Kenneth MacDonald, Lennard Pearce, Buster Merryfield, Roy Heather, we lost too many of those wonderful people. And of course, the great John Sullivan who created those magical characters. I am not British, but this is so universal, so humane, OFAH is pure life.
I didn't even know Kenneth MacDonald had died :( I feel blessed knowing these amazing actors in my lifetime. Absolute treasures. Give you a score for the lot, I mean fair is fair. I can't say fairer than that....
@@Naeidea That was one of the first blows after grandad. Look, man, I am amazed how the British actors keep on emerging. As I said, I am non-British. But this theater, acting tradition in British people is simply amazing. Kenneth/Mike was amazing in his role. But OFAH is an old thing, since then we had witnessed continuous and vivid British TV and theatre. The only country in Europe that resists American bullshit. No more Italians, French, or Scandinavian. Just the British stand still like under a Nazi Blitz. Amazing.

I'm from Ireland but spent a few years living in Chile. I showed many of my friends this show and they loved it. The British are truly the best at humour and music imo. Between this and Father Ted I didn't have to explain many of the jokes. OFAH is the greatest comedy of all time. They didn't really get the Office or Fawlty Towers, unsurprisingly. Both genius aswell. Btw apologies for the abomination and national embarrassment that is Mrs Brown's Boys haha
Lol Mark!....Mrs Brown's boys started off amusing but after the first 300 episodes all appearing to be the same the novelty wore off!...

@@markdavids2511 John cleese is a genius too, There is no denying it. I think fawlty towers could have gone on for longer. There is a rumour of more work that was never released but his divorce I think put the kybosh on the work .

I used to love “Only Fools and Horses”,,,so funny. It’s not shown over here in Canada 🇨🇦 but seeing it again on here after so many years and still making me laugh 😂,goes to show just how good English comedy was back in the 80’S and 90’s.🏴🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧❤️❤️
I don't think its ever been shown in the U.S. either. There are quite a few good/great Britcoms that weren't ever shown, now you have to have BritBox and hope they (eventually) show up there.
Only Fools and Horses what a classic I’ve watched the show since I was 7 in 2015 and I’m 14 now in 2022 and the show never gets old. Always funny.

I think it is the same broom. Replacing only the head or the staff at one time is just maintenance.

I know the Yuppy bar scene with Trigger and Del is famous for Del falling through the bar, but this is also one of Trigger's finest moments. (Handing the pork pie to Del, "Are they foreign?" and "I saw one of those old five pound notes the other day." Trigger was a brilliant character - and John Sullivan a genius.
