It seems like just about everyone on the internet agrees that if you are going to be a credentialed reporter, you probably shouldn't be trying to start wars with the team you cover.

    • The videos are out of order both of grant's responses were regarding kinlaw approaching him and cussing him out to his face. Then he posted these videos. Afterwards grant had kinlaw on his show then kinlaw responded by cussing him out on his channel. Not defending either one but it wasn't as one sided as pat made it seem. Also the video about being a million was a joke. A bad joke but a joke.

  • What Kinlaw did and said was profoundly unprofessional and there are no excuses. That said, Grant Cohn has never reported "honestly" or "unbiased". His career thrives on drama and chaos and he does whatever he can to generate it. I'm not surprised players hate him. It's one thing to be critical. It is another to antagonize. Grant does the latter. I don't support what Kinlaw did, but I also have to 100% own the fact that Grant had this coming.

I liken him to the skinny kid in school, who constantly heckles everybody else until they get really mad and then runs away and hides somewhere. And Kinlaw simply isn't as good with words as Cohn, who welcomed the opportunity to expose the player publicly.

The media will criticize players all the time because it can be warranted. But imagine if a player was mad at someone like Ian Rapoport or Mike Florio. Would either of them have that type of passive-aggressive sarcastic response where they crapped on the player? No, they would probably just say something like "My job includes assessing players and sometimes that will involve criticism. It isn't anything personal." There would no mocking tone to it or anything like that. That's the difference between a professional and a jerk. All sports analysts criticize players but some make a big show about it and include little personal digs in their comments and that's when it is perfectly reasonable for the player to dislike them.

    • I’m very pro player and in the situation seems like Grant is a huge POS. That said, Javon is not the person you want to be representing this situation. Highly unprofessional and straight up trying to physically belittle and intimidate someone is not a good look. I know he was emotional or irritated but instead of going at him for his horrible takes or basically harassing players, he instead resorted to basically “my nuts are bigger than yours”

I've always been a decent sized guy and I have never even considered provoking a giant athlete because I would expect to get rocked. Again, I am not on board with strong violence but one back hand is all it would take to tame people this reporter.

  • This off-season, with all the personnel movement, coaching changes, and draft variance, should show that the media needs to be humbled. As a Patriots fan, the media uses the team’s success to boost their own stock, and then criticizes the team. The players are seriously treated like animals. Ownership and coaching bias aside, the media and the fans repeatedly abuse players. Unfortunately the NFL will not try and insulate players from media abuse.

He was being compared to Stephon Tuitt and Deforest Buckner ironically. He just can't stay healthy and when he is on the field he's a terrible run defends and really bad pass rusher. This is probably his last year to prove he can be a starter in the league. There's no way the 49ers pick up his 5th year option if he continues to struggle or gets injured again.
