Lawyer here. If they actually screwed up his name and missed a deadline you need to report them to the state bar or sue for malpractice. Actions need to have consequences and if you don’t they will just take advantage of other clients.

What’s even worse is that the lawyers are still charging Gump and them for their services.. like The fact they screwed it up that badly and are probably like “sorry we got ya kicked out of the country, the bills gotta be paid by the end of the month though” is just sickening. Pat should blast their name on air to warn others about them
You should contact other lawyers (actual competent ones) and sue the original lawyers. Messing the name up on the application is as negligent as it gets.

@@chrishaswell4405 it would at most be a $100 consulting fee and then those malpractice lawyers would tell you if its worth it or not. it is malpractice tho and should be at least be recommended to to the BAR for review
Doesn't help the process he's worried about, and I think Pat pays well. With that said, I know the second firm had to have a reason to give that advice, but that first firm....God. just wow. I work in a superior court, and I've only very rarely seen such incompetence.

Can they sue their attorneys? The attorneys didn’t do the job they were paid to do and as a result Gumpy gotta leave the country now. The attorneys negligence is the reason they missed the deadline. They had far more than enough time. People get sued for less.

This may sound unusual but I would suggest calling your local Congressmen or Congresswomen. Wherever Gump lives they can provide additional information and assist with the case. They have a constituent service department which provides immigration support.

But the most easily influenced one's are corrupt, and come with a high pricetag. Look at the elites bypassing New Zealand's residency requirements to become overnight citizens so they can build doomsday bunkers there, lol. The citizens threatened revolt because their own family members couldn't bypass it. But the government told its own citizens that there's two things they could do about it... Nothing, or like it.
My wife has been living in Ecuador for 19months while we are going through visa process. I feel your pain Pat and Gumpy.

Actual attorney here. I know it doesn't get Gump to stay, but your lawyers are likely liable for malpractice. Missed filing deadlines and not knowing their client's name are both breaches of the duty of competence that is owed to Gumpy.

Those lawyers should get a massive fine for that type of sh*t, back in 2011 my grandma came from Mexico on a tourist visa, she was supposed to stay here for 3 months but she wanted to stay for another 3 so we went to an immigration lawyer to get informed on how she could do that, they said they'll do the paperwork and that she can stay after the 3 months once the application was submitted but that she must leave immediately if the extension was denied. Fast forward to two weeks after the 3 months were up, we hadn't received any news so we called them to see what was going on, turns out the fuckers "forgot" to submit the application, as soon as we found out my grandma left the country fearing some type of bar, unfortunately it was too late and she received a 5 year bar from the states and had to go through the visa process all over again if she wanted to get a new one, im starting to think that you become an immigration lawyer if you're not cut out to be an actual lawyer

As a man who’s wife was from Asia. And the kids were born in Asia while I was living / working in Asia….when we filed for permanent residency in the USA… the rule made them go back to Asia, sit, and wait. 2 years! Now, YEARS later, my wife and youngest son, have been waiting forever to get her Citizenship test and swearing in as a citizen. It is the toughest thing on the planet to get people “legally” into the USA. The best way appears to be go to Mexico, and walk back over. My kids! My wife! And the government just sits around holding our money for over 2 years now…we hope they don’t loose it.

Who is running S*** down there?” I feel like Pat is a great person who needs that friend to catch this kind of bullcrap before someone is about to get deported. Pat cares about his people, but somebody needs to be making sure the details don’t slip through the cracks like this. This should have been solved weeks or months ago. No documents should be sent with the wrong legal name. Lots of people screwed up for it to get to this.

Him zooming into the actual show probably isn't worth it. He cuts up clips and posts them live for Pats twitter I believe. He doesn't really chime in much during the regular show anyway. For Hammer Dahn, he zooms in everytime for sure cause he's the co-host. For the Pod, he can probably zoom in.

This is what happen to Dreamers. Alot of immigrants come into the USA legally but then INS or lawyers mess up the paper work, then 7 years later, the Fed government comes knock of the door and says you are here illegally and the immigrant family who has been working and paying taxes are left hanging because missing paper work on INS part or the lawyers' part.

Worked with a guy who moved from Ireland to Canada, the company he was working for there said they would handle all the visa stuff, person handling it screwed it up and he got kicked out of the country because of it, couldn't return for 12months
When I first started listening I was like ohh these must be all of pats friends his whole life... But then to hear how it's all just come together is crazy to think of. There's no other group that even comes close to what you all bring to sports and talk radio 🤟

Diggs and Nick grew up in Plum with Pat. Highschool buddies. Both joined him when Pat retired and went to barstool. I know diggs quit his job on the spot and told Pat he was joining. Then at some point Ty auditors as an intern then zito then Connor and then gumpy was a frequent caller who got an internship and Mitt was an intern. AJ just started calling in as a guest and was so good Pat had him everyday cause he love him

Totally feel you Gumpy! Going through the process as well. I'm confused why he would have to go back to Canada for consular processing though. He's already here and seems to have a work permit to be employed by Pat. Can't he just do adjustment of status? It allows him to stay in the US while waiting for the greencard...
Seems like a simple tax form would be a pretty easy way to tell if someone is employed. How is any of this the least bit difficult?

My girlfriend worked at an immigration law firm for a few years and this kind of incompetency is pretty common. She worked at a small law firm for about a year then worked at one of the best in the state of CA that handled pretty famous people. Both shared the same amount of incompetence. Some lawyers even knew they were screwing people over yet did it anyway for the 💵 . She quit that line of work after only 3 years post-college. She’s a teacher now.
All I can imagine is the courtroom scene from “Accepted” unfolding before our very eyes.
