  • I like Grant’s style. I’m tired of reporters like Maiocco. I want guys that aren’t pals with the organization and just tell it like we all see it and provide the facts. Javon sucks, he’s injury prone and he is a bust. If these players can’t take the criticism maybe the NFL isn’t for them. When you make millions and are famous you open yourself up to being criticized. Javon is acting like a clown. Get him out of here. Grant also happens to be the only guy in the media who recognizes under appreciated and underrated guys (DJ Jones, Hyder, Givens, Richie James, etc).

    @jpete3027666@jpete3027666 Жыл бұрын
    • Now that’s ignorant, and you’re missing the point. So because he plays football it’s ok to allow people to talk about him however they want, whenever they want? He can allow others to humiliate him? You clearly don’t do anything professional or productive. Because if you did, you would understand that this is a big deal. If he sucks, is injury prone, and is a bust, ok. You’ve said it. Hey say it twice. But to say it weekly, as a voice of the team and media, about a profession that he is blessed to do for a short time, yes it is serious. He is messing with him. I make more money than some nfl players and I will be damned if I ever let someone speak about me how Cohn does.

Obviously that can change, but for what SF has gotten so from so far, he’s been an extremely disappointing pick / bust. All of that is just facts…

    @zachf748@zachf748 Жыл бұрын
    • Some of the injury stuff is true and he definitely hasn't lived up to expectations but it's also still early and Kinlaw's point is the WAY Cohn does it is over the top and unprofessional. Matt Barrow critiques players and coaches when they deserve it, yet the players and fans like him. Where there is smoke there is fire, and if fan/player hatred is smoke in this metaphor Cohn has been burning like napalm for YEARS.

Ask Nick Mullens' father who was a regular in the chat until his son was traded or Brandon Aiyuk's mother or Ross Dwelly's family. Grant even acknowledged Dante Pettis' sister and gave an apology for getting too personal. The only negative things said here about Kinlaw are about how his injured knee prevents him from being explosive and keeps him off the field more often than not. Grant has said multiple times how Kinlaw doesn't deserve to get so much heat, how it's not his fault his knee hurts but being a 1st round pick carries expectations which aren't being met. It's far too early for dude to be that frustrated, maybe he's not meant for NFL football.

  • Kinlaw is outta line and I've now got zero respect for this guy. If he's got a problem with facts, do something to prove otherwise. Javon's been hurt, we get it. Had he been civil, and actually acted like a man, owned up to those injuries and discussed what he's doing to get better and prevent them in the future, that would've been productive. Javon did nothing to refute what Grant reported. He showed that he is lacking mental toughness and a vocabulary. Not a good look for the 49ers - they need to get their house in order. However, I respect Grant for not pulling punches. Other folks who report on the 49ers hold back due to the fear of losing access. Grant, thanks, keep it up and tell it how it is.

  • It’s ironic that Kinlaw kept repeating, “put some respec on my name”, because every time he opened his mouth, I lost more “respec” for him (and he lost a little more of whatever he was chewing as it flew out at the camera). I don’t think my opinion of a Niner has ever changed so negatively so quickly for anything that’s ever happened off of the field.

This isn't Trey or Nick, he wasn't bred for the spotlight, he's a beast on the field and seems to be a genuinely good guy when nobody's talking shit behind his back, and that's essentially what podcasts are, particularly Grant's.. Javon is adjusting to scrutiny and how to conduct himself in a professional manner. He just wants to play football and he's been thrust into this position of getting shit on by millions of people. Have some empathy, keep your mouths shut, or keep talking and accept that he has every right to speak his mind when he sees you as well. He's not the only one on the roster or in the FO that doesn't appreciate Grant's "hot takes", i can promise you that

    • Criticism comes with being drafted into the NFL, especially when you're a high draft pick. You're literally signing up to be in front of millions of people. There is no way someone can expect everyone to "mind their business" and stay quite. There needs to be coaching off the field around mental health and being able to handle said criticism.
