Back in the day ……. I remember the grind I did to get the T30 USA Tier Ten was playing every day till my eyes couldn’t blink anymore and then it still took me months to get , and then they changed and nerfed it to oblivion, man that boiled my piss something crazy

My brother in law who introduced me to the game twelve years ago stopped playing about four years ago. Every so often, we talk about him coming back. But when I tell him about the power creep ,equipment and crew changes, among other things, he just shakes his head. The decine in player numbers speaks for itself. Wargaming needs to give their heads a shake if they stand the noise.

Playing for 9 years now. The game started out good. It was fun. Games lasted more than 3 minutes. Tanks felt balanced. Each nation had strengths and weaknesses that players had to learn. Now, tech tree tanks are unplayable. You can only make silver if boosters are active, and games are over before the 4 min mark. There are no real advantages to armor since everything can pen everything everywhere all the time. When I started, there were very few "prototype" or "fake" tanks, as all the playable tanks were meant to be historic. Now, most tanks are protoypes and made-up tanks that a guy drew on a napkin during lunch in the 1960s. I still play the game, but win or lose, the game really feels trashy

What amazes me is when I have a fully aimed shot miss with an accurate gun and some turd in a Bourr or heavy shoots me easily from same distance and pens with little aiming required.

RNG is fun, atm playing t-44 with a 122m derpy gun sometimes can't hit a tank at 200m or even closer with fully aimed and there are times when I get tank sniper medal with just quick firing half aimed shots. It's roll the dice

CDC is not bad as a sniper tank, as long as player understands spotting and camo mechanics. In comparison to new premiums it is of course weaker, but I would not call it hunk of garbage. New tier 8 wheeled British sniper tanks have similar specs.

I started the game in 2013. I was never into higher tier play anyway, but I did a lot of sighing as I watched Tiers 8-10 become increasingly ridiculous. I stayed down in Tiers 4-6 where things stayed relatively sane, and you actually had to use skill and cunning to do well.

This CDC has good reload time. Side note: In this day of World of Tanks, armor has no meaning anymore. Load the gold, and just about everyone, is going to take damage. So tanks like these, are worthy of playing again. Speed and Damage per minute, is the 2 most important things, +depression is all you need. If your a light tank player, this tank won't be hard for you to use. Same idea, if anyone hits you, your dead. GG CDC, fun to watch.

@@NormAppleton If it rolls avg alpha. I stopped playing WoT after a series of matches with 240-250 dmg / hit. that is ~1500 DPM in a slow HT which no longer is allowed to get in a long range fights because of those corridor maps etc.

A similar is the Cromwell and Comet. They used to be sneaky ridgeline snappers. But remember, WG changed the rendering delay that tanks like that could exploit. Suddenly you didn't have 3 seconds to shoot and retreat.

Of course it had to be Claus that finally pointed out the HE low rolling. Players keep telling me to load HE for lights and thin skinned mediums, but almost every time I use HE I get low damage like 12 HP. On a rare occasion I get the extra HE alpha, but 9 times out of 10 I'm just giving away loads of HP for that silver bullet high roll. The main reason I use HE is to irritate heavily armored tanks that I can't pen frontally by causing critical hit after critical hit.

12 years ago 240 was the norm for t8 meds. You had a few high alpha meds at t9/10 with 390, no autoloaders, no double barrels, no wheeled vehicles, no invisible Swedish tds. Could not imagine playing a CDC into today’s wot.

Back in the old days “mountain climbing” was a thing. You could play French tanks and get to cool spots on the maps. I think once they did away with that, WOT lost a lot of fun and since then has done nothing but gone more and more downhill.

I sold the AMX CDC years ago. I think it got power-creeped. I can still have some pretty good games in my old Type 59. Sad to see these old tanks becoming door-stops.... I also still manage to have a few good games in the Lowe. The T44-100 still works for me. It was a beast years ago also.

I once raged at a platoon of Raviolis post game. They had no clue that having THREE of them which are basically TDs just killed us because the enemy team had three real mediums. It's like a KV-2 platoon, just don't.

I played the game A lot, started sept 2012 and played every day almost and for hours at a time, but stopped about 4-5 years ago, because I did not like where the game was going at all. Came back 2-3 years ago and it was gone for me. This game went from strong fairly methodical game play to just plain nuts, and I just could not keep up with it. I certainly wasn't ever really a good player but certainly wasn't red WN8, about 1250, and in past before it started getting crazy my recent WN8 would be a bit above 2000. As the game started adding things I couldn't get ahold of, some because no money at the time and some because I refused to "cheat" to get certain reward tanks many others did, My recent WN8 gradually dropped. I noticed the apparent, to me at least, changes in the game dramatically. I had a traumatic brain injury in 2006, anyways I could keep up with the old but not the new.

I was one of those players with more money than sense. The CDC was as fast as a light tank and had better gun handling. Sucked when you were bottom tier but just whizzing around the battlefield and that gun depression! One of the many "premium" tanks that were made useless by power creep. Oh yeah, maybe you should contrast a CDC vs one of those wheeled vehicles with even faster speed, more powerful gun and no need for armor because of their amazing rubber wheel armor. Pump it up Franz!

A similar is the Cromwell and Comet. They used to be sneaky ridgeline snappers. But remember, WG changed the rendering delay that tanks like that could exploit. Suddenly you didn't have 3 seconds to shoot and retreat.
Of course it had to be Claus that finally pointed out the HE low rolling. Players keep telling me to load HE for lights and thin skinned mediums, but almost every time I use HE I get low damage like 12 HP. On a rare occasion I get the extra HE alpha, but 9 times out of 10 I'm just giving away loads of HP for that silver bullet high roll. The main reason I use HE is to irritate heavily armored tanks that I can't pen frontally by causing critical hit after critical hit.
They change HE so that if you hit tracks or ANYTHING exterior it has little effect. Played a KV-2 lately or arty?

12 years ago 240 was the norm for t8 meds. You had a few high alpha meds at t9/10 with 390, no autoloaders, no double barrels, no wheeled vehicles, no invisible Swedish tds. Could not imagine playing a CDC into today’s wot.
I actually won a "World of Tanks Evolved" shirt way back in the day, still have it, and it goes from like low tier tanks up to the tiger I think, and says "Roll Out!" on the back. Funny you should make an evolution joke. I still wear that fairly often.

Claus, now I know why in some games, a couple of snap-snaps are received by my tank and it's bye-bye time for me.
Both games were great. I remember when the French CVC came out. Some people didn't like it because it was an unfair tank. It was a fast tank and a fast shooter.
Back in the old days “mountain climbing” was a thing. You could play French tanks and get to cool spots on the maps. I think once they did away with that, WOT lost a lot of fun and since then has done nothing but gone more and more downhill.

I sold the AMX CDC years ago. I think it got power-creeped. I can still have some pretty good games in my old Type 59. Sad to see these old tanks becoming door-stops.... I also still manage to have a few good games in the Lowe. The T44-100 still works for me. It was a beast years ago also.

WG apparently has a "balancing department". Which got to conq, foch, and countless others, before even looking at something like the CDC.
At the time I was platooning with some guys and one of them bought the CDC - within a week they went back to playing EVE never to be seen again 🙂
I once raged at a platoon of Raviolis post game. They had no clue that having THREE of them which are basically TDs just killed us because the enemy team had three real mediums. It's like a KV-2 platoon, just don't.

I played the game A lot, started sept 2012 and played every day almost and for hours at a time, but stopped about 4-5 years ago, because I did not like where the game was going at all. Came back 2-3 years ago and it was gone for me. This game went from strong fairly methodical game play to just plain nuts, and I just could not keep up with it. I certainly wasn't ever really a good player but certainly wasn't red WN8, about 1250, and in past before it started getting crazy my recent WN8 would be a bit above 2000. As the game started adding things I couldn't get ahold of, some because no money at the time and some because I refused to "cheat" to get certain reward tanks many others did, My recent WN8 gradually dropped. I noticed the apparent, to me at least, changes in the game dramatically. I had a traumatic brain injury in 2006, anyways I could keep up with the old but not the new.
I used to love playing my IS6, no point playing with that anymore, that had power creep over that one ages ago.

I have that I tank, I actually do really well in it but you need to be very careful with it. But just sniper it shoot one or two shots relocate. Can you even get this tank anymore?

Good video, shows that with the old tanks you have to sweat your balls off to get a good performance compared to new Russian biased shit that can allow a player to wiggle the gun all over the place and rng still says the shot hit the target and penned without the player even thinking about it

I was one of those players with more money than sense. The CDC was as fast as a light tank and had better gun handling. Sucked when you were bottom tier but just whizzing around the battlefield and that gun depression! One of the many "premium" tanks that were made useless by power creep. Oh yeah, maybe you should contrast a CDC vs one of those wheeled vehicles with even faster speed, more powerful gun and no need for armor because of their amazing rubber wheel armor. Pump it up Franz!
