I was in the closed beta and was a super tester for a while on the EU server until someone on the RU server leaked into and AT decided to remove super testers from server- other than the RU server where the leak came from! A lot of the 'bot' players I see are not Wargaming Bots, but actually people that are running multi scripts to play the game for them, this is part of the newer stat padding etc scams that companies are offering, the scripts will (sometimes) shoot at things, and they do drive around, but after x% of time, they seem to stop and just do nothing, sometimes being a free point farm kill if you get to them at the right time (could be cycled disconnection also but normally the game interface shows when people are not connected).

But as we can see, there are still things joining battles with 44% WR. Humans learn, animals can learn, even plants react but not things with 44% WR...

I think they are all human players. The bots seem to have their programmed "go here and park", wait for human players to drive close to them and then follow the human, but never get into cap... they will park next to the cap and no matter what, will not enter the cap. I spent several months as I recovered from spinal cord damage just playing tiers 1 and 2 where the bots are marked. During those months I inadvertently studied how bots behave and they all have a certain path to go. A game filled with bots would not have a lemming train go down one side of the map, you would have a bot go up the 2-line mountain path and park at an intersection waiting for an enemy to pass... regardless of you pinging help or defend base, they stay at that intersection. Or they take a good defensive position, but if there's an enemy in the cap they do not see, they will not leave their sniper position to reset the cap. I say that last battle had zero bots based on none of them going up the 1/2-line and parking halfway down the map. Bots tend to spread out so all flanks have a bot that only advances if a human player drives near it. The human thinks, "Okay, this guy will follow me to this position", just to have the bot stop at the next junction and wait for an enemy tank... you are now on your own unless you can trick an enemy to follow you BACK to where the bot is, but the bot will only engage the enemy who followed you IF the bot sees the enemy chasing you. The bot will sit there as you call help and wiggle the turret around as if it's looking for enemy tanks, not realizing the human in the Pz II is chewing you up 100 meters away.

I came back to the game recently and tried the warm up matches with all bots. One thing I noticed pretty early is that the bots didn't play their tanks very well, but they did generally deploy in a sensible way. I got Abbey a few times and never saw the bots on either team lemming train to the east. I think this is just bad players independently deciding before the match starts to go to the east, and then not changing their deployment when they saw one side was overloaded

I tend to agree. Yes, at lower tiers we expect some amount of new player error - lack of awareness, lack of mechanic knowledge, late reaction, etc. Even tier 8 allows it with purchased premium tanks by new players. But by Tier 9 and 10, simply the process of rinse and repeat losses would be expected to confer some accumulation of knowledge in a human player, and often, we just don't see it. Indeed, what I often see at tier 9 and 10 is what we can only PRAY are bot programs, because otherwise, it says loads about the average person none of us can hope is true. And while this sounds somewhat melodramatic, I find myself asking very serious questions multiple times per session --- How is this 'player' having fun? The actions are simply not rational and a functional human would not enjoy the action-reaction over thousands of battles like this. (I am thinking of a 'player' on my team who had a 37% win rate and averaged 240 dmg per game. His stats revealed he had 14,000 battles played, and most of those were at tier 8 and 9.)

@@connergalles7106 No, anyone can have an EU account. Nothing seedy about it. You can do it from anywhere. When you log in in the game it will ask you for your user name and you just pick the name you used for your EU account. I think you do need a different email address, not sure it's bee n awhile. Lots of people do it. Claus has a EU account too.

I really wish there was a penalty for stupidity. When you're 2mins into the game, and the enemy has control of 70% of the map, it's just hopeless. Some players don't even try to get into a decent position, they just lemming train to one side of the map.

The problem is, there's no way to know what is "the decent position". It's not like Call of Duty where you can respawn and go right back to where you left off and try again. Every time you die you're thrown into a new tank and a new map. So it makes it really hard to learn any "tricks" about maps or tanks.

Sometimes I cap to draw enemies out of cover, but there are a few times that we are having blowout, there are say 2 enemies left, and 6 of my team heading towards them. Then some idiot says: No cap, kill all. Well buddy, why would I give up a couple cap points, when there is still a minute and a half left before I fully cap out, and 6 of you are raining down on 2 enemies? If the 6 of you can't kill 2 enemies in one minute, I deserve the base capture. I do get off cap however if I am almost fully capped, and my team is raining down on the last few enemies.

Human is a very broad ranging description. They may all be alive but but technically only just. And maybe that's why evolution made it so that important stuff like breathing and pumping blood round your body is covered by the sub-conscious to make sure you do not have to think about them, as that doing that and other tasks may be beyond the abilities of most of the players featured today.

I would argue that roughly half or more of the player base are morons or just ignorant of how the game works. So when a match is created for a random battle, at least half the players will be from that group. Then matchmaker takes 2/3 of those and puts them on one team. So team A has 2 in 3 players being morons, and 1 in 3 being good to great players, and team B is 1 in 3 morons and 2 in 3 good/great. Then when the ones in team A have lost enough times, some of them become team B and the team B are demoted to the losers bracket in order to lose more and keep their W/R at the proscribed average. Occasionally it has to make teams 50-50 to keep up pretenses, but otherwise the 2/3 rule is in effect in order to keep W/R at a set amount and to keep matches running at peak 15-2 and 15-3 ratios. It is a very simple yet elegant algorithm designed to drive the player base to spend money.

We who have been playing for years are jaded into a way of playing. So when we see a brand new player making the mistakes that I’ve seen could be construed as a bot.

A lot of the 'bot' players I see are not Wargaming Bots, but actually people that are running multi scripts to play the game for them, this is part of the newer stat padding etc scams that companies are offering, the scripts will (sometimes) shoot at things, and they do drive around, but after x% of time, they seem to stop and just do nothing, sometimes being a free point farm kill if you get to them at the right time (could be cycled disconnection also but normally the game interface shows when people are not connected).
rapid turret movement, trying to path/aim/shoot through rocks....easy to distinguish.
Definitely no bots... bots would play better!

Let's hear it for multiboxing! You can load 2, 4, 6 or even 8 tanks, then kill 4 of them with the one you intended to grind! It's AMAZING how long you last when you don't shoot yourself with the other tank / tanks on your second monitor...

I uninstalled 5 years ago and never regretted it. I also have a video up where I teach things with 44% WR to win more: aim with your mouse and click! Easy as that. But as we can see, there are still things joining battles with 44% WR. Humans learn, animals can learn, even plants react but not things with 44% WR...
The Matilda in the second game was smart to cap. He got more experience by capping than he would have acquired by sloooowly trundling back to his own base.
I think they are all human players. The bots seem to have their programmed "go here and park", wait for human players to drive close to them and then follow the human, but never get into cap... they will park next to the cap and no matter what, will not enter the cap. I spent several months as I recovered from spinal cord damage just playing tiers 1 and 2 where the bots are marked. During those months I inadvertently studied how bots behave and they all have a certain path to go. A game filled with bots would not have a lemming train go down one side of the map, you would have a bot go up the 2-line mountain path and park at an intersection waiting for an enemy to pass... regardless of you pinging help or defend base, they stay at that intersection. Or they take a good defensive position, but if there's an enemy in the cap they do not see, they will not leave their sniper position to reset the cap. I say that last battle had zero bots based on none of them going up the 1/2-line and parking halfway down the map. Bots tend to spread out so all flanks have a bot that only advances if a human player drives near it. The human thinks, "Okay, this guy will follow me to this position", just to have the bot stop at the next junction and wait for an enemy tank... you are now on your own unless you can trick an enemy to follow you BACK to where the bot is, but the bot will only engage the enemy who followed you IF the bot sees the enemy chasing you. The bot will sit there as you call help and wiggle the turret around as if it's looking for enemy tanks, not realizing the human in the Pz II is chewing you up 100 meters away.
I sense that new players make up a large proportion of the WoT community nowadays. They are racing their way up the tech-tree, not bothering to learn maps or tactics. They just "follow the crowd" in battle after battle.
That first game with that enemy team is normally my teammates. Even at tier x. And then i loose 21 games in a row. And then i just give up and quit the game.....

i tend to look at players stats at the end battles, many veterans with over 100k battles and pr between 2-3k - makes you wonder how many people are having fun "not playing" a game but just being there! mindblowing fact that some simply don't value their time or simply lack self-awareness, after all if you are dumb it only hurts the others!

game is rigged by WG....if you 4 meters away from a lite...and he doesn't see you...and i shoot twice in his butt and nothing happens with a jagedtiger pr...than something is really wrong with this game..crew with 5 stats
I played this at x2 speed, this is peak entertainment.
I came back to the game recently and tried the warm up matches with all bots. One thing I noticed pretty early is that the bots didn't play their tanks very well, but they did generally deploy in a sensible way. I got Abbey a few times and never saw the bots on either team lemming train to the east. I think this is just bad players independently deciding before the match starts to go to the east, and then not changing their deployment when they saw one side was overloaded
I uninstalled 6 weeks ago after playing since beta. I can't imagine anyone being more blind than the developers of this game.
Wargaming and Gaijin, both belarusian companies, are competing about finding new ways to to make their players spend more money in their games. These publishers don't care about players enjoying their games, they care about how much money they can earn on your time in these games.
I tend to agree. Yes, at lower tiers we expect some amount of new player error - lack of awareness, lack of mechanic knowledge, late reaction, etc. Even tier 8 allows it with purchased premium tanks by new players. But by Tier 9 and 10, simply the process of rinse and repeat losses would be expected to confer some accumulation of knowledge in a human player, and often, we just don't see it. Indeed, what I often see at tier 9 and 10 is what we can only PRAY are bot programs, because otherwise, it says loads about the average person none of us can hope is true. And while this sounds somewhat melodramatic, I find myself asking very serious questions multiple times per session --- How is this 'player' having fun? The actions are simply not rational and a functional human would not enjoy the action-reaction over thousands of battles like this. (I am thinking of a 'player' on my team who had a 37% win rate and averaged 240 dmg per game. His stats revealed he had 14,000 battles played, and most of those were at tier 8 and 9.)
I realized during the training part when I opened a new EU account after sucking for years on NA that the bots are better than me.

@@connergalles7106 No, anyone can have an EU account. Nothing seedy about it. You can do it from anywhere. When you log in in the game it will ask you for your user name and you just pick the name you used for your EU account. I think you do need a different email address, not sure it's bee n awhile. Lots of people do it. Claus has a EU account too.

A shithead teammate shot me at the beginning of a game last night. So I thought I would follow them around and see what happens. We ended up being a pretty good platoon. "The strategy is memorizing..." Now that's good commentary. (I suspect WOT is sneaking in bots) So many muppets. Yikes. Thanks Claus.
I really wish there was a penalty for stupidity. When you're 2mins into the game, and the enemy has control of 70% of the map, it's just hopeless. Some players don't even try to get into a decent position, they just lemming train to one side of the map.
The problem is, there's no way to know what is "the decent position". It's not like Call of Duty where you can respawn and go right back to where you left off and try again. Every time you die you're thrown into a new tank and a new map. So it makes it really hard to learn any "tricks" about maps or tanks.
Probably took all game for the Matilda to get there. He knew he would never get back to help, so hey, make some points by capping..

Claus, you really had to dig deep to get this one... tier VI Hellcat vs tier IV, that's not allowed in the current MM, and has not been for quite some time.
The game is full of muppets, drunks (like me) and bots it is also easter hols so full of children who send funny messages telling a drunk how bad he played but if you smile and get some recognition (good or bad) it is recognition and ill except it. it is a game and like you Claus we should all just smile more. cheers for the videos

Sometimes I cap to draw enemies out of cover, but there are a few times that we are having blowout, there are say 2 enemies left, and 6 of my team heading towards them. Then some idiot says: No cap, kill all. Well buddy, why would I give up a couple cap points, when there is still a minute and a half left before I fully cap out, and 6 of you are raining down on 2 enemies? If the 6 of you can't kill 2 enemies in one minute, I deserve the base capture. I do get off cap however if I am almost fully capped, and my team is raining down on the last few enemies.

I would need to look and see how many battles each one has done. Maybe these are new people to the game just learning? They could be casual players also. I have been playing since 2012 but only a couple hours a week. I am noe just beginning to be a below to average player. I just play to have fun after work. Bubble gum for the mind.

Human is a very broad ranging description. They may all be alive but but technically only just. And maybe that's why evolution made it so that important stuff like breathing and pumping blood round your body is covered by the sub-conscious to make sure you do not have to think about them, as that doing that and other tasks may be beyond the abilities of most of the players featured today.

I would argue that roughly half or more of the player base are morons or just ignorant of how the game works. So when a match is created for a random battle, at least half the players will be from that group. Then matchmaker takes 2/3 of those and puts them on one team. So team A has 2 in 3 players being morons, and 1 in 3 being good to great players, and team B is 1 in 3 morons and 2 in 3 good/great. Then when the ones in team A have lost enough times, some of them become team B and the team B are demoted to the losers bracket in order to lose more and keep their W/R at the proscribed average. Occasionally it has to make teams 50-50 to keep up pretenses, but otherwise the 2/3 rule is in effect in order to keep W/R at a set amount and to keep matches running at peak 15-2 and 15-3 ratios. It is a very simple yet elegant algorithm designed to drive the player base to spend money.
