New technologies are being used in all areas of human life, and the army is certainly no exception. But we aren't just talking about modern military equipment, like tanks, drones and submarines; we mean personal protective equipment. In this video we want to show you the coolest inventions among modern armor systems. Some of them are still in development and some of them are already available for purchase. The thing is that, that wasn't a minefield if it was she would be peppered with shrapnel. 2019: Russia has explosion proof suits? Thats awesome!! 2022: Russia has explosion proof suits? OH FU-
A lot of cool concepts but many of these are also pretty impractical. Like the Ronnin helmet most likely cuts your peripheral vision so your situational awareness is decreased. Exoskeletons would probably find only use on base never in actual combat scenarios. Plus military also has a budget. Special suits would primarily be for special operations never for standard infantry.
The ronin helmet does not cut your peripheral vision as much as you'd expect. because of how close it sits against your eyes, your vision is practically unimpeded. For example, if you look through the middle of a small washer from an arms length away, you won't be able to see anything through that hole. But if you bring that washer right up against your eye, you'll be able to see as if the washer wasn't there.

Lead blocks more than just trays, it always blocks EMP blasts up to a certain strength. A bit of lead alloy plating around the housing of important electronics can negate or severely diminish the effect of a normal emp blast, short of a nuke but then it doesn't matter lol.
Or perhaps wear a Faraday cage implemented into the suit I'd imagine that wouldn't be good for communications though
Lead is pretty heavy but perhaps an alloy may work
I was thinking aroegel because I heard that it protects spacecraft from cosmic rays but nasas pretty misleading on that as it protects only against weaker beta rays unfortunately only concrete lead and steel can block gamma rays and aswell sadly you require several inches of theses substances to block gamma rays so a alloy probably won’t work but perhaps since the blast of a emp is short lived an alloy may give some protection but I doubt protection from emp would be guaranteed honestly a faraday cage might be the best idea well in a perfect world we’re we had enough energy within the suit to deploy its own magnetic field and not just any field it need enough power to stop gamma rays which is impossible amounts of energy but after a search I realized what I’m talkin bout here is from nuclear radiation which is not what is used in the battle field rather radio microwave and ultraviolet radiation is used in combat emps which actually can be stopped by lead alloy and in some cases even the light wheight aroegel can protect against emp as long as it ain’t nuclear which is unlikely honestly after reflecting and researching faraday cage would work with the lower energies required with longer wavelengths but too much power is required but actually that alloy idea would be way more efficient probably the best way to go perhaps too give the faraday cage one more chance to be efficient perhaps implement an emp sensor which exists as tiny chips and as soon as the suit gets the alarm the faraday cage can be activated combined with lightwhieght aroegel that can block radio waves perhaps balancing less power to the cage and more aerogel to add efficiency while aswell includes the bennifit of being fire proof or rather heat resistant to 2000 • ferinhight just ideas probably some inaccuracies just brainstorming
I tried not to make assumptions and searched the web for awnsers which sometimes only leads to more unintended assumptions though I put in effort and I’m sure there’s a lot of accuracy

2:40 now that is awesome, especially with the terminator theme
7:23 For the Ronin ballistic helmet, while the idea is really cool... is it just me, or does it look, *flimsy*, especially the gaps between things like the cheek plates (the white part), seem a bit on the *thin* side for protection. Also the ease with which the cheek plate and such seems to come of with also seems a little concerning, will it be able to reliably remain on the helmet during combat? Will the the gaps in the individual plates still be good enough if a bullet happens to impact one of those spots? What are the plates rated for, and what about the white gaps? What are they rated for? Is the built in toxic gas filter able to properly work, as in does the helmet have a proper seal while it is on the head to make sure that toxic gas can't just come into the helmet through gaps such as down by the neck and even possibly between some of the detachable plates?
Demotion ranch tested this helmet if you want to see the results. In case you just want to know, the helmet was able to stop bullets up to 44 Magnum. The two big weakness of it are that the attach system make the helmet easily detach from the head after a shot on the side or above, and that the lenses are not bullet proof (lead buckshot shotgun shell was able to go through) From the same channel, you would be better protected by a standard army helmet + bulletproof face mask + large bulletproof glasses (all test are in the same channel)
Downside on full face helmets like this is your peripheral vision is usually cut off. Which is a big thing to have in combat due to situational awareness.

First suit: While it may offer additional protection from the Gen IV IOTV currently in service, using lithium ion batteries that are exposed for the power seems very iffy to me. In general, I don't think this suit would retain energy for long enough for a real engagement. It would become a box of rocks smothering your body in what, an hour? Replacement batteries in arid conditions would be even more concerning. Second suit: I don't give a shit if you make a suit that is completely impenetrable to all explosives. Those 'mines' are nothing more than fireworks. If they were actually dangerous explosives, she'd need to be wearing four or five hundred pounds of equipment or she would be sent skyward. At best it's a fireproof suit and we give those to firefighters already. The third arm could actually be useful. I have a lot of issues using support-level weapons in anything other than a prone supported position. That shit is so heavy that your arms just shake when it's not popped on cover. Fourth suit: Definitely a kickass design. The arm plates would probably be 9mm at best, but having as much coverage that can tightly and comfortably fit to the skin as possible is generally good. Everything with a battery concerns me. The helmet seems like a huge waste of time, but armored boots might be a new modern. Exoskeleton: Same concerns with first/second suit. Lithium ion is an issue. Maybe new phosporous batteries will be less dangerous? Ronin helmet: Seems like an unacceptable loss of peripheral vision. I agree that current helmet technology is rather outdated--but unless we can seriously reinforce our necks/spines, a 7.62mm would probably break your neck if it domed you anyways. Cracks ribs through plates already. African suit: Almost certainly a hoax. Funny as shit though MWD goggles: What a good boy Battleskin: Might be more useful than the Ronin. The stress point seems to be better placed near the temples--but I have no clue what testing it's gone through for stress points. Still would need neck protection. Source: Total arm chair expert I'm joking, I've been overseas on deployments before and while I'm no speshul operations I've been through my fair share of unwelcome explosions

"Marines have always moved, talked, and performed..." *Proceeds to show Army soldiers*
Can you please explain the difference? Im not american
@@oy3930 Marine with a capital “M” means a member of the US Marine Corps or the Royal Marines. With a lowercase “m” it means a member of any country's naval ground force such as those mentioned above, meant to be transported by sea, especially via naval vessel, to then fight on land. All Marines are marines, but not all marines are Marines. It's also a general adjective that means having to do with the sea or intended for use on a boat or in the water; see also “maritime.” The word Troop is a mostly archaic term for a unit of cavalry, analogous to an infantry company and an artillery battery, and like the latter two is usually commanded by an army captain. Some US Army companies that maintain cavalry traditions due to the units' histories are still referred to as troops. It is also, and more commonly in modern times, a generic term for an individual military service member, especially an army soldier. I think in this case it's a shortening of “trooper,” which is an old word for a cavalry soldier. Soldier is a word for a military person trained and equipped for ground combat or a member of a nation's land army. It can also be used more generally to refer to any military person, or even an irregular fighter or mercenary, but usually implies a uniformed ground troop. And in the United States, Marines especially don't like to be referred to as soldiers, so in American English “soldier” is used almost exclusively for members of the US Army. Another reason is that they are considered "better" in some way to normal soldiers. So just never refer to Marines as soldiers because to them, that is insulting as it is not what they are.
