Unfortunately, I have to agree. Everything F-Dev has done in the last four years has been pretty disappointing. Skeleton crew or not, they've been ignoring the larger part of their playerbase, the explorers. Instead they shoved a thargoid war down our throats and made a new UI for a feature very few actually care about.

I always wished Elite had more distiction between the factions' territories. Space is huge yet every inhabited system feels like it's the same place. Identical fonts and templates, identical docking procedures, accents, naming conventions, architecture.. you get more gameplay variety in Euro Truck Simulator when you cross the Channel than in Elite when you cross all of civilized space
Yeah so did everyone. Thats what they wanted a powerplay refresh to be. And of course now that Frontier listened to feedback they just get shit for it. ANd the Elite community wonders why they don't spend much time on Elite anymore.

I personally think Starfield cannot be salvaged. Bugthesta cannot swap game engine as they are to attach to it and theres no way they will overhaul main story. If they pull No Mans Sky, I will print this comment and eat my own words.

Yes, it's coming out on PC this time. The main problem with Dust 514 was that it only released on Ps3 and it launched 6 months before the ps4 did.

Yep, as an old gamer I have had so much fun playing Star Citizen. It's the game I have always wanted to play, even in its current state, so much to do.
FDev have also updated their input support from 32-button to 128-button. That's huge news for owners of larger sim control interfaces like the VKB STECS Standard or STECS Max. I'm actually stoked. I'll probably upgrade to Max thanks to this.
Would love to hear your opinion on the potential of these updates. IMO the updates for Everspace 2, X4, and Elite Dangerous, as cool as they are, won't be any game changers. However modding for Starfield absolutely will be as the foundations of this game are actually very solid and the potential for a great game is absolutely there. Adding server meshing to Star Citizen will also be huge and should finally allow for a smooth triple A gameplay experience. As for adding a FPS to Eve Online, I want to believe. But unless they're upping the scale of that to at least Planetside 2 levels, this will be nothing more than just another generic shooter module that adds nothing to the granter scheme of things in Eve, which is what Eve is all about.
I'm one of those people who actually really enjoyed Starfield, but I think modding it into a game that most people will like will be harder than you think. The main problems people have with the game are the loading screens and the bad writing, neither of which I think can really be fixed with mods.
@@harrasika As annoying as it is (and let's face it, it IS really annoying), ultimately loading screens are not the gamebreaker for Starfield. Adding meaningful gameplay is and this can significantly be fixed with mods.
@@harrasika To be fair here, people made entirely new games/expansions within skyrim, so..maybe they'll just write their own stories, granted it would be some time before we saw any of that and I'm not sure if the interest is even there for starfield.
Timelines for X4 might be really, really great for it when it comes to new players, giving them a guided experience into the X universe, as well as being interesting to vets. 7.0 is also greatly expanding on the tutorials for the game which were very, very lacking.
@@kegaran2365 Don't het me wrong. X4 is in dire need of a better new player experience but even with better tutorials, it's still the horrendous UI that really holds it back. For the game to really make a shift it needs a GUI overhaul.

I still don't know about X4, man. I really wanted to like it, but for me, the whole running around and all of that seemed so odd. If you enjoy it, hey, that's awesome and all, but for me personally, the series peaked with Terran Conflict / Albion Prelude. I wished they went more in that direction for a potential sequel.
I like the whole sandbox dynamic. Also, you know explore is part of the name.
X4 Timelines is expected to be released alongside the 7.0 update, which was the case for all DLCs of X4 being released alongside a major patch. Given that 7.0 went into public beta recently, I do expect it to release within the next 1-2 months, based on past major patch releases, where Egosoft did a similar thing with an open beta. Unless they want to wait for 8.0 ;D

1:25 - Getting some major Stargate Atlantis themes from that particular shot. As for Elite, one thing I'd love in Powerplay 2.0 would be for Federation systems to use the Federal Dropship as an ACTUAL dropship for ground based combat zones.
Everspace 2 is a game I really wanted to love, but I hated the main storyline and all of the missions that had you going inside interior structures. They were so frustrating.
The game is a bit too arcady for me. It is not immersive, as far as I am concerned. The visuals are beuatiful though.
@@Ploskkky The combat might be a bit arcardy, but I would call it accessible. You can have some encounters that get quite hard and require more tactical approach. But the game has some really nice locations to explore without any time pressure. Especially planetary surfaces. In this sense its not arcade and not just about rushing the player with action.

Last time I tried the X series was with X3 and tho I wanted to love it, I was just lost within a few hours and the tutorials and missions were just broken. I found many others complaining of the same sort of problems, so I just gave up on it. Fast forward to a few days ago when I bought X4 on sale. I tried it out this morning and... just... WOW! I am still a bit lost but the game shows so much incredible love for space games in general that I am willing to put the time in to learn some of the more obtuse aspects of how it works.

This has my attention. Trepang2 is outstanding, and Outer Worlds is perfectly playable. While not the kind of, or length of, game for everyone, I am jazzed VR suddenly has so many more options now.
If only they manage to get UE5 to run well. Every UE5 game I've tried has run like hot garbage, performing like ray tracing is on while looking like the height of mediocrity.

Powerplay 2: Because yes we really are so out of touch that we think PVP is the most important aspect for us to be working on.

Yeah, it was an all right game. I played Freelancer before it which was a mistake lol. Freelancer is overall a better game, but Everspace 2 was good for what it was.

Loved playing Everspace 2, graphics are beautiful but the underground mazes gave me a very uncomfortable claustrophobic feeling , main story was dull but the side missions and jobs have taken me exploring all over the place, the new incursions is a bit buggy still with odd graphics occasionally, I personally would like more universe to explore.

Definitely looking forward to the creation kit for Starfield. There are already a ton of mods on the Nexus as it is. Most recently, a mod just dropped that adds buildable mechs and settlement building (different from outposts). -TGs Galactic Colonies Expanse

I think the longer it takes for a new update to starfield the more likely is going to be bigger than originally planned, I believe (I hope I am right) Starfield will be changed drastically for the better, Now don't get me wrong I love the game the way it is 10/10 for me, Game of the year last year no doubt, but not a shared sentiment I am afraid, nevertheless wishing for the best here.

Star Citizen does deliver however, I'm not sure what you're talking about here. Should you witness the game 6 years ago compared to what it is today, you'd know. Also there were some noticeable changes since 3.19 to 3.22 Calling SC vaporwave is over the board really. Yes, it's going slow, but it is definitely worth it!

If only frontier would add a 0 to the materials gathered, cut the fleet carrier jump time down to 1 min, and reverse the mining nerfs back to when ltd's were 1.7m/t then I'd actually consider coming back. But interstellar rift, x4, no man's sky, and space engineers occupy my time.
SC first patch of the year always comes around April and literally nobody expected it to come out in the first quarter. There i fixed it for you.
I dont understand the "there I fixed it for you" CIG had the update listed for the first 1Q until they pushed it back to 2Q which they mentioned LATE in the 1Q. SO apparently at one point CIG was expecting it to come out in the 1Q.
@@MSFTJustice they never pushed anything back, the update was always put as Q2 and as im sure you know April is Q2. With many of the changes CIG has been implementing giving us a more accurate date on the roadmap is one of the things they did. Ill say it again, every first update of the year comes out in April (Q2).

The roadmap/progress tracker have things that end in Q1 and April but the big patch was just supposed to arrive on the first half of the year. It's a departure from their normal quarterly releases but not unexpected if you follow CIG communications.

I recently got a great deal on X4 and its expansions. Have not installed it yet, because my games backlog is out of this world. Currently, playing Horizon Forbidden West.
It's a great game but be prepared for a lengthy learning process, as with all X universe games. 100 hours in and you'll likely still be learning new things.

I am not sure why but I loved ED but still it felt like something is missing. I love the feeling I have massiv spaceship and feels nice if you control it but still. When I played X4 oh man, autopilot? Wow. Give ship commands? Wow. X4 had all of those stuff I miss it. I mean ED ist far in feature but still cannot let it autopilot.

I recently bought Everspace 2, didn't expect much but I got it for £6. tbh it has really surprised me, it's rather fun and enjoyable! much moreso than I thought it would.

If starfield had a bigger focus on space flight and combat I would be all over it. Unfortunately space flight in SF is no different to getting on a mount in Wow. So far there has been no game that beats Elite Dangerous as a space flight sim / space combat simulation game. ED remains the best in the world even with it's cons.

So everyone's getting stuck in hard and FDev are tarting up space stations for us to occasionally walk around... Oh well, still got about four years worth of carrier upkeep banking - they've got that long to come up with reasons for me to log in again.

I'm a backer of Star Citizen and hope so much for its release, but saying that 3.23 makes it feel like a complete game is laughable. More solar systems, better npc interaction, the ability to use the toilets on the ships, those are things that will make it feel like a complete game.

Should I buy Elite Dangerous: Deluxe Edition while it's on sale? I have a free Base game with Horizons in Epic but without Odyssey and in Steam the full bundle is pretty cheap right now. I mean do I even need Odyssey? If it's very disconnected side content than I think I'm fine with Basic version, right?
Odyssey is a fun diversion from the rest of the game. I enjoy it but don’t look for a good shooter system. But like the rest of ED, tons of unrealized potential.

ED: Deluxe Edition is only ££8.79 on Steam. Definitely worth it for that price if you already play base game. If you play in VR..... it's absolutely worthless stick with base game.
Depends what you're looking for. For me, Odyssey really added a ton of immersion as I was able to walk on foot around the planets (and the settlements on them) and in stations (despite the pathetically small size of the accessible on-foot area). Odyssey also adds more to exploration by allowing you to land on planets with a teeny bit of atmosphere and being able to scan the sparse flora on them. I suggest you first play without Odyssey and then decide on whether you like it. Without Odyssey the game is definitely worth it if you like a space sim.
@@harrasika thanks. Bought it on Steam. I played Elite for about 200 hours in a basic game with Horizons when they gave it away for free in Epic Store. Just wanted to know if odyssey worth it. DLC in Epic Store alone is much more expensive than Full Deluxe Bundle on Steam. So now I have second Elite game on Steam.😁
