Rory casts a thorough eye over the all new, 2022 Nissan Qashqai. Is the world’s most popular crossover also the world’s best? Are the interior and boot space up to scratch? Is the tech modern enough? All is revealed here!

Nissan is on a roll. hope the new japanese management can bring back old nissan reliability.

Not interested in the car but always enjoy Rory's reviews. Yes those alloys will be kerbed week one.
Me to..😀🤣🤣
Shouldn't get them kerbed, little unknown feature of the Qashqai is when parking if you press the "camera" nutton next to the centre screen it switches to the side camera where you can see the wheels and kerb so you don't ruin your alloys, but not sure if that comes on all models or just the Tekna
It's virtually impossible to kerb the alloys, in my 2019 Trina with 19in rims pro pilot guide you as you park, reversing into position and the camera automatically come on, the amount of features and standard equipment is unbelievable in a qashqai, you really need to drive and own one to understand, I'm on my 3rd now and this new model looks very tasty indeed.
@@pauricburke7428 My friend took a rental Qashqai a couple of weeks ago and immedietly kerbed the alloys because he thought he 'knew better' how to park and ignored the panoramic cameras.

Love this guy's reviews. It's a proper car review where the essentials are spoken about.
Rorys really found his mojo since joining Autotrader, their videos are now a good watch 👍
First time watching Rory and really like his presentation style, very easy to listen to.
Clearly spoken, straight to the point. One of the best car presenters. Well done! Oh and yeah..A very nice car indeed.
That boot divider is a good idea for storing your shopping bags.
Ngl this looks so good in this review, great work you guys.
Bought a Quashqai for the first time this year - best car I've ever had; will never bother with anything else now and I've driven VWs, Citroens, Fords, Range Rover, Volvo, Toyota, Vauxhalls. Just something very solid and respectable about the Qashqai but still fun to drive - love the glass roof
I confirm what you said. One of the best crossover. But it's a pity that this car sell less in Italy just because italian want only diesel cars, even if they don't need it.
Great job! I am 6' 4" and you helped me decide what to rent in my next trip -- not a Qashqai! Your delivery is wonderful. Thanks
“Getting confused between third and first gear” exactly!!! Your reviews are so accurate! You the best 👌🏼
Seen a couple of these now on the road and actually looks really good !
The best review of the Qashqai on YT. Well done 👏
I think Rory has got it in for children, throwing them into back seats, starving them of food and denying them ventilation! 🤶👼💀💀💀
I think this is a massive improvement from the previous gen. This and the Peugeot 3008 are my favourites in the segment now
Agreed. Nissan has stepped up so hard, it’s impressive. Now, I’d actually consider one of their vehicles.
Tucson looking good too though…
As was the case with the improvement by the 2nd generation over the first
Honda awesome to
thank you. I have just subscribed. Like that you talk about the positive and the negative aspects
Would love to see this with a shapier paint job, to see that nice surfacing above the rear wheel better.
definitely the best car reviewer.can listen to this guy all day.
Great review with the right person delivering. I enjoyed it, keep doing it!
Explaining what is Wheel base and C pillar makes sense. 👍 Good job.
Rory has an affection for one more thing, besides the cars, which makes me appreciate him even more.. He's obviously a watch guy. I've seen him wearing a few interesting pieces during his car reviews. A Rolex here, an Omega there, and in this video - a piece of modern watchmaking. Apple watch, although not much appreciated among the watch collectors, is still a nice piece to add to your watch rotation. Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying to guess which model you'll be wearing in some future reviews and I admit I'm a bit jealous since watches in my collection don't cross the 500$ mark, while some of yours are more expensive than my collection combined.😀😀
A reasonable length for a review. Bravo!
I’m seeing the consistency on every videos really.. well done rain!
This is going to be my next car! 🙏🏾 Great review! Definitely earned a sub ✌🏾
Thanks for kicking off with rear seats. Also been looking at 2nd hand Lexus RX 450h. We'll want to carry elderly, frail, but large friends. Hard centre seat will batter arthritic backsides though excessively soft seats are difficult to get out of. Headroom matters a lot. I'm heavy duty DiYer and make a lot of cabinets. Fold flat seats for bikes, panels, carrying tools for diy help for friends and relatives. Want to drive and park with frail large passengers in SE London and drive about 1ce a month to family and friends in North Wales and Wimborne.
I love the new design. Never owned one, but a mate had one a year ago. He had kids, I don't. Drove it a few times and it is a very good car.
In the North America it’s called the Rogue and it shares its platform with the Mitsubishi Outlander, which has 7 seats and is slightly longer with more cargo space than the Rogue. No manual transmission is available on either version. I like the styling of Qashqai, I see a lot of Rogue in it. The interior is almost exactly like the Rogue with the exception of the manual gear shift. The smallish powertrain is deceptively responsive and suspension is delightful in the Mitsubishi - the vehicle I own, and I suspect it is the same in the Qashqai/Rogue. Well done review!
A two seat is enough for a single depressed man
One seat like a bicycle might help with that depression.
Buy a convertible.
Thanks Rory👏🏾 the technology advancement and exterior design is really impressive 👌🏾
So many ,,that's what she said" or ,,that's not what she said" potential for this video... Great job, mate.
Loved the review. Had to hit the subscribe button. Only stumbled on this video because I was searching for a fault code I got for my Qashqai 2016 model. As much as I love the design of the car, I have not had the best experience using mine. The parts are not readily available in my region and parts are quite expensive
Thanks a great review this one is on my shortlist
Thanks again For this wonderful video very useful information Thanks again
Brilliant review, and informative in the right places, but would you pick this Qashqai over the 2022 VW Tiguan? They seem quite comparable.
Had the previous generation and loved it, in a Q3 now though and the quality difference is night and day. Keep up the top work 👍🏴
I'm sure it's not :) The Q3 is very plasticky inside
Thanks for the informative report.
Nissan need to make a 1 seater SUV for those who don't want the family 😂
That paint job is lit 🔥
Thanks my friend. I m looking forward for your Qashqai cvt 158 bhp review.
Quite honestly Nissan is pretty much giving their customer everything they need with a price that pretty much everyone can pay.
Except headroom
Except a good looking car
And that is also why they seem to be constantly going through never ending cycles of bankruptcy.
@@crabrangoon2493 it's a very good looking car in my opinion especially in blue.

Nice one Mr Reid.. I like it had a test drive.. Am impressed..
best review i have seen, no-nonsense at all
I'm in NZ and got the Note E Power and that is one great setup. UK won't know what hit them when the E Power arrives there! I'm loving my Note E Power albeit it's a cheap car and paying the premium for the electric motor. Qashqai looks gorgeous too. Nice work Nissan
Owned a 1st gen 2013 model 1.6 dci, best car i've ever owned for the 3 years i kept it.
Still got my 2010 ntex with all the toys, love it even today and still looks great and most important hasn't put a foot wrong reliability else has been great., hope new model is just as good, Well done Nissan
@@NS-pt9rr I'm looking at getting a 2011 or 2010 1.5dci but have heard some bad stories about reliability would you recommend it for many miles?
@@DJGamesHD NO issues yet, our's has 102k miles on it and regularly serviced at 10k miles and still a great car.. only issue I suppose if interested, the side bolster on drivers seat has a small tear coming through, just normal wear & tear I suppose. As long as you get a regular serviced & loved car I'd recommend it 👌
@@NS-pt9rr thanks for the answer. Yeah that's just normal wear and tear same with suspension problems as it's a 12 year old car now. 👍I hope it carries on doing you good just look after it and it should be fine
You should do Mercedes a-class AMG line review from the a35, a45, a180d, a200d, a220d, a200 and the a250 analyzing fully the performance package of each and ranking them. Big fan of your reviews all the way from +254 Kenya.
That is impressive, both exterier and interier are gorgeous, well done designers! I hope i'll ride my 2014 Qashqai for 20 more years though as car prices in Russia are outrageous. Thanks for the review!
how much do the new Qashqai cost there..?

Ordering my Tekna tomorrow, enough power for me, great interior and exterior.
Cool review dude! Thanks!
I tested it yesterday. I'm 181cm and 87kg. I could not fit confortably behind my driver seat without pushing the chair with my legs. And I drive with my knees as close as possible to the driving wheel. I own an xtrail for comparison so i actually like nissans, but i tested the cx30 as well recently and that provided more back seat space ( and i felt also more boot space). Another note: I tested the top speced version, i think it costs somewhere around 38k euro. But i can still find the hard plastic everywhere where it is under your normal arms reach. On the plus size, the 1.3 hybrid engine is fast.
Rory, we see you bulking up. great review as usual.
Ive been trying to decide on what my next upgrade was going to be..qashqai is it for sure. Just because of this review. Ive been watching car reviews all day - youre very good a reviewing cars.
How satiafied you are?
Gr8 review Rory👍
Wow the new Qashqai looks pretty good and it´s a massive improvement from the previous gen.
Nice review 👍
Nice review i have the mark 2 1.5 diesel ntec has a lot of gadgets on it and it averages between 55-60 mpg and costs £20 per year tax ,wished they had made a diesel of this new model
Hey @Autotrader what song's that in the outro? Pretty catchy!
Hey. I am waiting for my new 2021 tekna plus in September. I already watched lot of reviews and video's. But no body make video in night time. For bater look in night drive experience and interior lights, specially headlights. If is it possible please make one video for Nissan Fans. Thanks.
Bummed they stopped the +2 I love mine guess I'm looking around for my next 7 seater
Which model and spec is this please? also am assuming that 20” alloys and clear roof don’t come as standard? Thanks
The design looks so much better than the previous model
Rory is correct. Unless the new Qashqai has a fault in recording fuel mileage it is appalling. Drove one today that has done 100 miles and was shocked to see the indicated average fuel consumption 20.1 MPG. (UK).
If someone had to have an SUVish thing, this would be my recommendation
This perfectly looks good!
I have a the older +2 4wd model and love it. Best car I’ve ever owned
Big improvement good looking and probably as British as it gets! Great review.
Great review, can't wait for the Ariya EV
I love this man!
I've driven the 1.3 DiGT Auto Qashqai, I'm very very impressed. The car and engine is flawless.
When will e-power be available in uk?
Loved the review and surprisingly do like this car, yes it has been stepped up more than a notch, however still seems to lack gravitas and presence looks like something that will just blend into a sea of cars BMW when making the ,M4, M5, M2 etc and they are described as unassuming, without wings and spoilers should look to Nissan design
Well done, Rory. You've given us a perfect review. I also like that you don't go all 'petrol head' on us. I used to have a qashqai until I saw the light, and bought a Mazda.
Very true have the CX 5, and wow your really do see the light after driving a Qashqai.
Hi guys at Autotrader. I know the videos a review for the car but what’s the name or artist of the song in the end credits. Please help.
Great review, but what about smaller people? I am 4 ft 11 and would be helpful to know if you can reach the pedals!
does anyone know the tune at the end of the review? it sounds lit
I had one of these back in 2012 it was a great car to be fair but it was only the 1.5 diesel one maybe need a bit more power but hardly a single prob in the few yrs we had it
Would be good to know the trim levels. Is this the entry level, midrange or top spec?
Thanks for a great honest review. It's a shame nissan haven't provided any diesel power in the new vehicle as the 1.3 litre petrol is thirsty.
So we might be seeing a GLC video soon?
3:55 I feel you bro
Very comprehensive and well presented review, but 20-25 mpg from a mild hybrid? That's shocking!
Well, if you want more mpg there's the Nissan e-Power powertrain which is one of the most efficient ones in its class, various awards in Japan.
Shocking figures! I out do that town driving, in a 3.0 diesel automatic VW Touareg. 2.2 tons, permanent 4wd, lots more space...
It's actually 45 MPG
@@Ricoman611 7.15 quote Rory -"I averaged between 20-25mpg."
Looks like Rory was gunning it round country roads in low gear
Excellent review. Nice car
What's the best company to lease one please? Any recommendations? Also what are those number mean 1.3 DiG-T 160 [157] , 1.3 DiG-T MH 158, DCT, XTRON etc? Thanks
Wish my car had that heater system. My car comes with it on the cheap trims but I didn’t realise that as you go up the trims they integrate it into the touch screen. Honestly new cars are going backwards by hiding things in a screen
Love this colour. What is it?
Theres loads of safety tech as well, I ordered the Tekna+ model which is what this is, theres all round monitoring when parking for eg, theres little cams built into the side mirrors. I test drove this and then a Kuga straight after and the handling was night and day. The Qashqai was light abd easy but the Kuga I had to really wrestle with it on corners and in general fely really heavy. Only downside now is having to wait for the damn thing because of the chip situation that all carmakers and more are dealing with.
The Kuga is a wee bit bigger and quite a bit heavier. Kuga is like CX5 sized, in between Qashqai and X Trail
beautiful video
nice reivew!
I clicked immediately I saw the notification. Wow!
looks more interesting than the outgoing model
0:58 Just begging to be kerbed 😂😂 literally had to pause and laugh at that, so true!
Nice quiet looking 👍
Looks great. has decent features too. Can't wait for this to be the 2023 Rouge Sport in the USA.
Good review
Eye catching design, but I'd have to be convinced regarding the quality. My neighbour bought the previous (2015) model brand new, and had several electrical issues. He has said he won't be replacing it with another. Personally, in this class of car I'd also be looking at the Skoda Karoq......I can't imagine the Qashqai topping Skoda's current build quality.
