NEW 2025 Tesla Model 3 PERFORMANCE Review: Supercar Slayer | 4K

2024 ж. 22 Сәу.

Rory goes for a drive in the new Tesla Model 3 Performance, which some people have been referring to as the Model 3 Plaid. It has more power, more torque, more performance, a new motor, new seats, and has been comprehensively overhauled to help it rival everything in its class… and even a few unlikely suspects.

But for almost double the price of a used taycan vs brand new Tesla it’s not comparable price/value wise the Tesla is faster, lighter and better network over the air updates, supercharging network plenty of things make the Tesla the winner by far other then looks.

  • Fun fact this Model 3 performance weighs about 4050lbs which is -500lbs- 700 LESS than the new C63 AMG 4-cylinder hybrid BS. Edit: Caranddriver tested the new C63 and it weighed in at 4749lbs (more than most 3-row midsize crossover sold in America). So the Model 3 performance EV weighs ~700lbs LESS than the c63!! Not 500lbs less.

  • Also, not to call you out, but the contact patch area on a 275/30/20 is the same as a 235/35/20 (same diameter, same pressure, different shape)- it actually helps in straight line efficiency to have a wider contact patch with most tires, which actually reduces rolling resistance, but makes it stickier on the lateral plane (better handling).

    • Um.... what? I think you are confusing the word stagger with camber. Also... 20" in the back & 19" up front.

  • So what is feel and feedback like through the controls? Can you feel the surface of the road through the wheel? The conact patch of each tyre through the suspension damping? A driver's car is more than just paper stats and a bumper kit.

    • That’s really what I’ve always liked most about my 2019 Model 3 Performance. The balance and feel is just right, more solid than a Ferrari 430 and more nimble than a Lamborghini Gallardo. The steering is direct and precise, and it has been a faithful companion for nearly five years now. It never feels like the weight is all at one end or the other. Chassis rigidity is excellent, and the smoothness of the power delivery makes it easy to drive

    • Ok, I will repeat what I heard from Jason Cammisa: Tesla's have always been really good for high frequency (Road texture and quick changes) feel, where it falls apart a bit is the understeer limit where it is hard to know whether you have hit it or not. BUT... he needs to do more testing as he was on a cliff face so he wasn't exactly going to fully test it. So it is good but not the best. But if you are really interested we need to wait until more testing is done!
