My dear old Dad was a Vauxhall man all his adult life. I grew up sitting in various big Vauxhalls. If he is looking down I think he will be more than a bit impressed.
You know what….I don’t hate it
The light strip completely changed the driving experience.
😂
51,000 pixels in the LEDs!? More range than a Model Y?? IPad stand??? Wow. I must be dreaming.
Opel that I actually really like 😊❤ perfect family hauler
Adding Tesla to the title gives 400% precent more views. Fact
Wow, beautiful color and car.
Brown?
Good tutorial video for how to slide your finger across different surfaces👍😜
Wow a vauxhall that is nice. Peugeot has fixed this brand
Looks good! The fact that these companies are selling mild hybrids which don’t do better fuel consumption than my 20-year-old Toyota prius is laughable though.
Your 20 year old Prius doesn’t weigh anywhere near what modern SUVs weigh with all the extra safety equipment though. So the efficiency is better now when you compare it properly. If this weighed the same as your car it’d beat it hands down!
Hmm, I actually quite like it. What I like is that it actually looks like a proper car not the plastic Tesla toy car look. The range is interesting IF it can be believed. that said I think I will stick with petrol for a few more years yet.
You know what, Never thought I'd say this but I actually quite like this Vauxhall/Opal. I've been umderwhelmed by Vauxhall's EV offerings so far but this looks quite nice with lots of space for a couple of teenagers (my family situation within a couple pf years) We'll see how it stacks up when it's actually driven.
Ooof I hate to admit how much I like this design! Be interesting to find out how much it weighs though!
That smart element in the antenna gives glimpse of Lincoln r
I’m no suv fanboy…..but this is a good looking car. Nice job!
Gorgeous car! Love the review!
Worsley cars always had a illuminated badge on the front grille at leasr 70 years ago . Even the police cars .
Is this same as Opel?
I want estates back. enough with these suvs....
Suv is most sold car in uk Following by hatchback ..
@@oootassss that's why. Aren't normal hatchbacks or estates more economical for us and for the planet? What do we gain, like 5cm of boot space and higher cost / fuel bill? Pointless.
We don't get as many cool choices for estates in the states (at decent pricing) and I really wish they were more popular here.
Unfortunately, people with enough disposable income buy them in really big amount.
Light look good
It’s 2024, do they really need “4K” in the title of the video? 😂
😂
My oldest phone shoots 8k videos :D.. so yeah. This is a bit of tacky move.
Appreciate this style of video, simple, elegant and informative. Like an article, but in video format I know that's what they all are, but the calm atmosphere was nice. Didn't have the energy for a high velocity spec sheet dump.
Is this same as Opel?
435miles?… I’ll believe that when you test it
It’s already tested. It’s WLTP. It will never reach that in real driving, just as any other WLTP range in any other car. But it is a standardized measurement to compare it to other EV:s. If you as of today don’t understand the meaning of WLTP, you must have been sleeping under a bridge for the last ten years.
What's this? Desire for a Vauxhall? What's happening to me?
Have to take my hat off to Stellantis... After all the CEO's bitching that they couldn't make EVs.... They are actually producing some nice , practical, long range EVs. Whilst no one will ever get the claimed 400+ miles. A real world 300+ will really be good enough for many families and is a massive jump from the current 150 to 200 mile Stellantis EVs. Personally I want the Renault Scenic EV, but I will at least look at these new Stellantis models before I finalise my purchase.
Nice! That range figure is amazing, the interior and outside styling look premium. Teslas are just boring, ugly and outdated today. No need to compare vehicles to them anymore. The time and industry has moved on and forward.
Well the market doesn’t seem to agree with you. The model Y is the best selling car (not just EV) in many markets. I agree that it is not the prettiest or the most exciting but it does do everything else pretty well. I would say it is still the benchmark.
@@ewadge it is still the most efficient by far so it delivers the best travel times, plus the charging network still works better with Tesla… but i think these new models by stellantis group are fenomenal contenders
@@ewadgebeing the sales leader means nothing about how good it actually is. It has the worst ride quality and noise insulation of any EV, it is easily the cheapest feeling because it doesn't have an interior. It's 400V architecture is outdated, as is it's charging speed. Which is actually more important in the real world than outright range. So no, it definitely isn't the benchmark in terms of anything except sales.
@@yissibiiyte So what? A Tesla Model 3 costs less than a Peugeot e-208 where I live, and at best the same price.... it is a two segments smaller car. Absolutely disconnected from reality prices from most legacy manufacturers... Why do you need 50 000 LED's at the front? Why should I pay extra for it? How much will it cost if, for example, a random gangbanger hits my front for no reason?
@@WetPig the Peugeot e-208 may be smaller, but at least it actually has an interior, and basic technology such as radar, suspension, and noise insulation that Tesla hasn't heard of. That is why Tesla's are so cheap. And I'm not a fan of the stupid 50000 LED lights either
Brilliant review, I like watching her she keeps you interested instead of most lads trying to be funny when simply there just not 👍
The center console looks pretty good but if that cubby where the wireless charger is doesn't have any active ventilation, the wireless charger will be completely useless. Cook the phone within a few mins and then turn off alongside knackering your phone battery with the heat
Nice looking actually!
Seeing a center crease on a bonnet after a very long time.
Better looking than the Astra 🤔
Love it
Hey, this looks great inside and out
Good looking. I need another car like I need a hole-in-the-head, but would like one of these. No go in the USA.
We’re all so proud to see this brand new Great British car.
Good reviewer...she is calmer and presents less whimsical than other female journalists
I wish they would stop this trend of spelling out the vehicles manufacturers name in the rear. Go back to regular badges being in the rear.
I hope not!
Yeah I was thinking that too.. it's annoying
@@ethanb4ughan how is it annoying?
My triumph spitfire has triumph written across the back. Damn them!
Gosh you must be fun in a library if that actually annoys you
Very beautiful car
the real reason of the trough in the middle of the first row seats is to went “air” easier and more rapidly…😂😂😂
45k look at used mokka aNd Corsa prices it will plummet in value
Vauxhall Cora and Grandland 👍🍀
I hoped it will be based on Peugeot 5008, but bit bigger for 7 people nad some stuff:) Opel - make sorento / kodiaq rival, just do it:) Of course much better would be to totally redisign Combo for proper family car, not converted commercial one....
45000 will soon turn into 55000
‘It’s a good looking car isn’t it’ - who are you kidding? It will sell about 50 but only because of its looks.
This is what Tesla is afraid of. The main manufacturers being on point and basically demonstrating what knowledge they’ve built up over the decades
Tesla isn't afraid of anything. They're well-aware that no matter how superior the competition is, their fanboys will always buy a Tesla.
Exactly! Tesla is heading into some serious problems. Not only with the booring and outdated EVs, but everything about the Tesla brand. And a CEO with a mindset that is all over the place, including some real other personal issues
So far all that knowledge failed to help them make a profitable car, but one can hope.
Hopying they make a 3rd grn Insignia with an electric option soon
Yep, gooooood looking car
The Vauxhall Grandprice
Peugeot 3008 looks a lot nicer but I suspect it costs a lot more. How heavy is it?
5:14 opaque front? If I am hearing that correctly then this an error because clearly the thing she is referring to is translucent. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Sir you are bang on the money….
In order to have that range the battery must be 100kwh.
Similar range but far worse efficiency. Fantastic!
A vauxhall Grandad?
Oh god these types of cars. 🥱 Cover the badge and it'd be be impossible to say who it's made by
That’s the Stellantis approach. Unlike VW the Stellantis cars are all but the same. May as well just have one car like a corolla or a Model Y.
@@ObiePaddlesAre you joking? I can’t tell the ID.7 from a Passat from a Superb from an A4! Whereas a 408 looks completely different from a 308! And Vauxhall, Fiat, Jeep, Citroen and Peugeot have very different design languages. Perhaps you should visit Specsavers!
@@Sto79Be perhaps you should learn to debate without chucking insults around.
1:38 or an Opel in the more reasonable part of the world!😂😂😂
Alex❤❤❤
It looks way better than the Peugeot!
Here is an idea to marketing teams, dont release or show a car if the whole line up and details arent coming with it cause detais is what sells u cars not showing a glittery show piece which will lose half it value or more in less than a year
It'll do 200 miles tops.
Why does it look like this was made with green screen 👀
Mokka started with this design, but it resembled Camaro. This one resembles Dacia Duster.
I'm going to say that looking at Stellantis motors and it's size and weight this is a 300 mile range car.
What's the extra weight of that huge battery? I would consider it if it came with a 4-cylinder engine. But electric? Nah.
Wouldn't be a vauxhall without that scratchy material somewhere on the dash... And there it is, all over the steering wheel... They just had to!
It is bigger than Crossland
Any idea on availability? The Vauxhall website only has the current model Grandland on it.
Not going to be until late 2024 or 2025 at least given this is the first public preview of the car.
But who makes it ??
If the range claims is true then yes please but if it’s B/S like most EV claims then …..
3:29 red bracelet… for warding off evil spirits… in a purely technical automotive channel… That’s what we need more of….😂😂😂😂
Why would you want people to know that you are driving a Vauxhall?
Its an Opel
Good looking car.....haven't played this video yet....will it be made in UK or Europe ?
Up to 435 miles? Well, we all know that in the real world (especially in winter) one would be lucky to get 380. When you road test this vehicle, please supply us with your real world mileage rather than simply giving us its WLTP, which we all know bears no relation to reality.
Lots of Apple product references in this review. Other brands are available as they say!
I liked it till the mention of Stellantis lol - Yikes. Fab colour though.
Looking really nice. The Stellantis group is for sure.making some impressive EVs. OHHHH, all these Tesla yt channels making fun of EVs from Stellantis, suddenly keep quiet..
Am I the only one who only remember the fingers sliding over everything..? Gives car porn a retro meaning 😎 -sorry
Something was bugging me all throughout the video and it is that it's a Vauxhall, who only sell in the UK, but it's a left hand drive preview model. I know it's just an Opel but it's just odd seeing a Left hand drive Vauxhall.
Same
“Paint by numbers” Stellantis….
Would be nice if the review wasn't just parroting the marketing department BS
Looked up on the website and range was tested inside a storage unit. You can expect 40% less range going up the hill or side winds.. now thats a title not the one you have !
Whoever did her eyebrows, should watch this video
Call it an Opel and it will become cool.
Looks great, but there's a deal breaking catch: It comes with a Vauxhall badge on the front... and an immovable Vauxhall logo on the rear.
Good thing it's actually an Opel
@@yissibiiyte Okay, it's an Opal with Vauxhall badges. Whatever!
One of the best bits! A Vauxhall that will surprise people and maybe bring their reputation back up 👍
Rims are 😢awfulllll
1.) Talking about the underfloor storage in the trunk but NOT showing it is goofy at best. This is like saying "The car has a lot of power" and then not mentioning any details about said supposed power. 2.) No mention of a frunk - so probably none there. Again. Fail! 3.) It´s easy to have more range than a Model Y when the biggest battery is roughly 20 kw LARGER. 4.) Based on the vague price guesses it´s safe to assume a vehicle as "grand" as the Grandland - EV version with 98 kw battery - will be priced at least above the Model Y. My guess here is based on the fact that a top spec Astra EV costs almost exactly as much as a Model 3 Long Range (at least here in germany). Stellantis raised their listed prices about a year ago to a point where even Opel salesmen say it´s hard to win customers over when they see an initial price tag for a Corsa EV starting at over 34000 euros (safe for the "limited" edition Corsa YES at 30k - still a lot of money for an electric supermini). 5.) No word on fast charging capacity. Vauxhall / Opel will have to make this good unless they really expect people to spend about an hour per stop waiting for their car to recharge. So far I have little hope here, their EV outings so far have been rather mediocre in this department. "Up to" 100 kw fast charging on the Corsa, Mokka and even the Astra (!) doesn´t fill me with anything but contempt. 6.) Accelration? Top speed? Driving assist and safety systems? Infotainment options? You barely mention anything apart from what can be directly seen here. 7.) Speaking of infotainment: if my best bet for fun is placing my phone upright on that center console contraption Vauxhall / Opel dropped the ball BIG time. I expect solid integrated infotainment options in the front display, maybe even a smaller display for the passengers in the back. All I have seen here is a rather antiquated looking center display that neither looks promising nor modern in any way. 8.) What about over the air updates? What about a smartphone app that doesn´t look and function like the CEO´s son cobbled it together during break times in elementary school? Overall this video is, at best, a poorly concealed commercial for this upcoming car, serving only superficial information while - at times desperately - trying to impress. Shame on you for the video title as well. "Look here, this new thingamajig goes further than (popular stuff)!"
All of your points are done on a road review... Rarely on a pre prod reveal vid... So just hold your horses. You'll get all this soon enough
@@legouix So, what you're saying is you guys were not formally invited by Vauxhall for this. You know, with a fixed date and time? But instead you apparently just happened to be outside Vauxhall HQ when the doors flew open and someone said "Hey guys, wanna do a quick commercial for us, promoting one of cars? We got a nice refresh here!" - because THAT would qualify as a "road review". These horses will not be held. And you are full of it if you really believe the crap you wrote for a reply.
Um.. nope.. that's not even close what I'm saying.
@@legouix Yes, I misunderstood your initial reply, I apologize for that. Still some of my original points remain valid. Standing right next to the open trunk and talking about underfloor storage without showing it is silly at best. Again, this video has about as much substance as those 15 second clips Stellantis produces themselves.
In day Time also they can see that you drive a vauxhall 😂
Why illuminate vauxhal badge?😂😂
Why not?
@@Aztasuit’s gaudy.
Yeh its a nice peaugeot i like it ! Good job peaugeot
I’m fed up with previews, you’ve got to get a car on the road to do a proper presentation.
Je préfère due mousse pour l'intérieur je pense que opel cette battus pour sa 😢
I know new cars these days are utter rubbish and the car companies are taking the p- but calling it Grandadland? 🤷🏽♂️
She is great, voice✅, face✅, car knowledge✅, feels like she knows doesn’t feel pretentious. Always great to see her & rory both.
Lets face it its gonna be shit if the smaller mokka is anything to go by had the ev version and worst car I've ever driven wowfull real range I had three on the trot nope pants
It's a great show of technology, but I reckon it's too expensive for what it is. Too boring on the inside too. I'd prefer a simpler, more practical version. Without all the fuz. Also, as this was designed with a combustion engine in mind I assume it's front wheel drive? Not great for an electric car either is it...
The Frontera will be you you.
Problems will come your way at lightspeed! It's a Stellanthellish.
Grand land ? Grandjoke quality as usual Why would you want to let anyone know you are driving a Vauxhall at night ?? 😊
Gangland
Just another boring suv 🥱
Drive for an hour,, spend the rest of the day charging it. If you can find a charger that you don't have to queue for or that won't cost a fortune to use. Range figures are created under strict test conditions, in real life, if you go up hill you lose range, if you use your wipers you lose range, dare you put on the heating, you lose range, the load you carry will affect range, don't plug in a phone or game console for the kid's, you will lose range. If you need to travel more than 50 miles from your home charger (if you have one),use an I,CE, vehicle.Get to your destination with ease, no range anxiety and you can crank up the heating and play as many games as you like because the I,C,E, generates heat and electricity as a by product. And there are thousands of places to fuel, without waiting, just squirt and go. Not sit in your cold EV charging for 2 hours to get another 100,miles of range. Lovely car, wrong power train. EVs 👎
Stop ev dictatorship
This is no outdated Model Y or something. This Vauxhall/Opel is very similar to the Peugeot e-3008, which has a real world range of 400 miles with the bigger battery under normal conditions. That has been tested by various journalist already. On the highway it should be good for 270 miles of range. If you charge it back up to 80% then you get an addtional 220 miles of range on the highway. So with just one maybe 35min charging stop you could drive close to 500 miles at highway speeds. This is totally usable for long journeys and everything life throws at you everyday.
@@bullshitbingo2259 35 minutes? What dream world do you live in? The infrastructure for this kind of charging does not exist on the scale needed to make EVs fit for purpose. I can fill my Diesel car in 10 minutes and drive for over 600 miles, with the heating on and music blaring 😁
@@shanewalker6609 in what dream world are you living in? Pink clouds kinda world? Or maybe a third world country? The charging infrastructure needed for this vehicle consists of 200kW chargers, so basically almost any 400V charger today. Even with a 150kW charger you would almost get full speed and maybe have to plan with an extra 5 minutes. 150kW chargers are everywhere if you live somewhere in Europe, North America, China and many countries more. Even in small cities and rural areas you will have a good chance to find those chargers. Since the range is quite big you could drive at least 3.5h at 75mph on the highway. That's the speed limit in almost every country in the world. I guess 3.5h is when most people want to take a break anyway. The 35-40min (in the unlikely event that you can only find a 150kW charger...) needed to charge back up to 80% sounds long but if you visit the restroom, get yourself a coffee and snack then the time you are actively waiting will probably only be 15min. After the charging you have range for another 2h on the highway and enough range left to arrive at your destination. You could drive 5.5h on the highway + maybe 30 minutes off-highway which concludes to an effective 6h active roadtrip range with a single 35-40min charging stop. I do not see the problem. If you want to drive a boring old diesel, sure go for it. I think if not a fully electric car then at least a hybrid car is the best option for most people right now. But if you are willing to make minor compromises, then you can easily drive long distances with these new electric cars. And the Vauxhall/Opel Grandland is quite a sizable SUV with relatively slow charging speeds, a next-gen electric sedan would have more range, for example the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA, which should be able to achieve 310 miles/500km at highway speeds and charge back up in under 25 minutes from 5-80%.
You can get a hybrid or plug in hybrid. Its not only electric, like the model y...
Nope
