Honestly, I only watch these for Rory. He makes these reviews super enjoyable and the easy to watch. I don't know but Autotrader should do its best to not let you go.

I just bought this car and it's literally PURE LUXURY!! I have the GLE 350 AMG SUV. I got the 7 seat package incase we choose to have a bigger family. The only thing I wish I did is to add a massage seat. I've never been more in love with a car. It has amazing gas mileage especially for long distance travel. We drove 1700 miles from California to Iowa and only had to put gas 4 times. The interior is top notch! Exterior paint has tiny sparkles to it. I got the emerald green color which looks black in low light, then you come closer snd it changes to green. I receive so many compliments about it almost everyday.
Is the 350 enough juice to haul 7 people? I've always thought the 4 cylinders to be underpowered.

Hey Rory, Awesome review. When yo mentioned that the GLE 400d doesn't feel as quick as Porche. Is it quick on your 0-60? Also, have you tried this car on a mild off road and do you hear the body squeak? Since it is not a monocoque chasis.

GLE450 2020 year owner here, 3 years later 75 k miles. Perfect in all respect. I have AMG package and it looks business. No issues with this car. Keeper for next 2 years.

Thanks Rory, another great vid. I just don't understand these SUV things! Maybe if you're towing a horse box & need something with a little off-road capability then you might have to use the 'grab handles'. Otherwise buy a big estate/people carrier. 9 speed gearbox? My S5 has 7 & in sport mode doing 70 it's still in 6th. Diesel is on the way out!. All the best.......

I have a 2020 GLE, it’s a great car. The tech is amazing, with MBUX. That said the previous generation handled better and Mercedes removed memory seating as standard to make you get the Premium package. Car play is also £300 which is downloadable, but that is more Apples fault making it chargeable.

To use Rory's own phrase, both he and the production team are just like Merc's interior and software designers, top of their game. Few others meet these standards, bravo. Oh. and nice car too, though the front end design is a bit shouty. Whatever happened to Merc' design elegance?

That rear seat being slow to operate could be dangerous in an emergency situation, so not for me. Can't afford one anyway.
I've been driving a hire GLE 350d for the last couple of weeks while one of my cars is off the road - I almost bought one of these SO glad I went for an X7 instead. Maybe it's because it was brand new when the hire company delivered it but compared to my BMW it's positively agricultural. Stop start system incredibly jerky, holds gears too long whatever drive setting you use, windscreen wipers like I had on a Ford Sierra about 30 years ago, lots of scratchy plastic and fake wood with sharp edges, rear electric seat button failed to operate, digital dash steering wheel controls appallingly designed... the list could go on. I'd certainly place Mercedes well down the German car pecking order for build quality behind Porsche, BMW, all VAG group products. Incredibly disappointed.
So bad is Mercedes this days?

Having driven one for 2 weeks on hire I can tell you they are crap!
When I have 4 kids, I want a 7 seater GLE400d or a rx450 7 seater

Rory you're 💯 on the GLE, the front is so ugly even with the AMG package. The good looking GLEs are the AMG 53 and 63 that have the actual AMG grill. Check those out they look so good Love your review and style, we want more AMG and Mercedes

I am curious to know what metrics you use in evaluating and scoring SUVs. I went to buy a Mercedes GLE and discovered I could not even into into the driver's seat. It's very small and cramped. I even tried the larger GLS and could not fit in either. The legroom for their SUVs is 40 inches, some even 39 inches. This is ridiculous for an SUV and cannot understand why they are ranked #1 in almost all categories.. They might be built for Europeans but the average American will fit fit in the driver seat. American SUVs on the other hand have legroom starting at 43.5 all the way to 46. It might not seem like much difference but when you are above 6'3, as most Americans are, it does.
I’m glad he said that about the face of the Benz… IMO, it’s uninspired and undignified… btw, why the hell they stop putting the "standup" three pointed star and started using a flat badge on the hood? That was what I always loved about being in one - being able to look out on the hood and see that… smh…

the X5 is still the best looking car in this segment, i have never been a fan of how the ML/GLE looks at back from the side.
Spot on as an X7 owner I'd say BMW has a much better quality interior, smoother engine and much better driver ergonomics.
I think it's face is perfect.

Nappa leather looks like proper quality here. Merc generally pull off white beautifully but not on this particular GLE. Maybe darker colours suit it.
