Aston Martin DBX Review: The ULTIMATE SUV? | 4K
Rory Reid reviews the new Aston Martin DBX. It's Aston's first ever SUV and, on paper, looks set to give the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus and Rolls-Royce Cullinan a run for their money. But is it too little too late for Aston?

Aston Martin DBX Review: The ULTIMATE SUV? | 4K
Which would you pick? DBX, Bentayga or Urus? ⬇️
AutoTrader stelvio qv ;)
Urus
Dbx
Bentayga
Bentayga
I will never understand why this dude is not on top gear anymore or something similar. Oh I forgot it's becuase he's actually a real car fanatic rather than just a TV entertainer... Great videos..autotrader and Rory! Keep it up
those two clowns are ridiculous> Chris Harris is carrying the show alone. Rory Reid was a fitting partner with Sabine. Sadly BBC again hired the idiots and fired the ones who are actually good.
Lablank Rory & criss would have been the perfect pair but Rory never got a chance to show his talent & both matt & criss being senior citizens Rory respected that
@@allah_who Agreed
Quite simple really. A lot of these institutions are institutionally racist. Have a look at the top jobs - look at the % of BAME people at top jobs. Getting the top job in Europe let alone in the UK if you're BAME is a rarity! Rory and Chris were probably the best after the top 3 exited, BBC is a shadow of its former self - at least in top gear perspective!
i was abt to comment the same
Hiring Rory has saved this channel
"Sometimes, a party isn't a party until the cool kids arrive" *Sold*
I started reading the comments because of that statement. Great video
It’s always fun when a media embargo is lifted on awaited cars 😃
The reason Aston didn't put ceramics on is because they have some of the grabyest in the business
Pity it was so late, I’ve actually already seen a couple of these on the roads around London
And Rory managed to get the best looking one
KissTheGreat The one in this review is LHD. Were the ones around London RHD?
Haha indeed
Rory is soooo underrated, top gear lost.
This dude said the DBX has a 'playful back-end' #gay
@@alexandersimon5340 And?
@@biteursknbiteurskn and swallow
Absolutely. I truly marvel on his work.
Agreed. Can’t stand top gear since he left
Rory Reid.... this guy is so good... cheers!
Prefer Riley Reid
I ❤ Rory. Most comprehensive while still being fun car reviewer out there.
It's definitely different. I kind of wished that they stuffed their V12 in it.
Yea, I feel the same about the Urus with a V10.
supposedly it is coming later. Also a few more variants. I read that they are planning 6 different versions, even a 2 door version !
Aston is going by by
V12 coming soon with turbo variants
Stuff the Valkyrie’s V12 in and make a modern day X5 LM 😆
I really like it. I think the design is spot on, love the rear. The only thing that looks odd, at least on video, is maybe a bit too much panel gap? Maybe it's to accomodate flex on a 2.1 ton land boat, which this is for Aston. It's cool anyway in my opinion.
Aston is going by by
@James Harris xd yeah, but Tobias Moers came to their help so maybe he can do something about them going *bye bye*
Yh 1 inch lower and the wheel to body gap would look better as well. Altho I think it might mess w the anti roll system, if done aftermarket.
Think this is a pre-production model.
As always, the best comprehensive review Rory. It's a pleasure watching your videos.
The condom broken, 9 months later Mr Bond had to settle for the family SUV...
Your not funny You are very funny 😆
“Sometimes a party ain’t a party until the cool kid arrives” Aston Martin better use that line.
Aston Martin ain‘t part of the cool kids. It‘s the creepy old man desperatly trying to fit in...
@Amarjit Singh lol
Aston is more likely the father of that cool kid.
I actually like the looks (for an SUV) spec it with a brighter interior and less muted paint scheme. Great review as always. I hope the DBX does well as it needs to.
That was one of the most beautiful car reviews, I have ever had the pleasure of. Rory you were on point right through. I may never get to drive a DBX or maybe I will (manifesting) but that..... was awesome. Hats of Rory!!!!!
Love your commentries...even flow of descriptive words. Keep up the amazing job mate. Your time will come.
Awesome! Although I just watched Mat´s Video on the DBX, I really enjoyed watching this review because of Rory and the pleasing quality. Keep up being a cool guy, Rory. Two quick notes: This is my favourite SUV, love it, and your last quote was really good. Greetings from the country where the engine is build ;)
Your videos makes me happy!!
Rory is the man! Love every review whether on TV on KZhead!
Another brilliant review! My absolute favourite reviewer on youtube
When I first saw this channel I was very surprised to see 300k subs for this much quality videos. Good luck on 10millions subs
"And sometimes. Just sometimes. A party isn't a party until the cool kids arrive" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
ALEX CHOMBA Copied
Rory making more videos into gold!
Brilliant review Rory, as always 👍
May I say, what a pleasure it is to watch your reviews, your knowledge, enthusiasm and delivery is a joy! And that DBX is stunningly beautiful, to me, for sure!
Cracking video. Love your delivery, it’s nice to see an air of cool brought back to car reviews. This is headed in the right direction. Top Gear shot themselves in the foot letting you go. Mind you they have a history of poor decision making. Keep it up. #DBX everyday
The best looking suv in the market and the most spacious one as well it better be because Aston-Martin needs this car to survive and it’s gonna be a great sell
too bad this thing will not sell. It has some minuses, like price and some old tech like that infotainment. In Europe it wont be huge success
A land cruiser is bigger. Nissan patrol too
The front looks like the new shape ford Kuga, it's pretty generic looking
Love the videos. Keep up!
Rory and the team smashed this again.
Best looking performance suv by far
lol
“A party is not a party until the cool kids arrive” I’m dead
05:20 Rory, I would like to remind you: The track is this grey stripe with the white lines on both ends. Great review of a cool car.
Your reviews are superb well done and thanks
I'd have guessed it would have been ugly, but this looks stunning. Great work from Aston
For an SUV this looks outstandingly beautiful
By far the best review guy on the net today, well done.
wow what a car what a review phenomenal ... loved it thanks for sharing mate ..
I think it looks lovely, especially the back end.
Seems like you guys made a typo in the description. "...and, on paper, looks set to give the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Aventador and Rolls-Royce Cullinan a run for their money. " I think I know which one I'm picking.
Urus is the Lambo SUV. They are automotive journalists, so obviously know nothing about cars. Rory Reid is awesome as always.
@Zach Dakin Looks like they've corrected the typo now.
Hats off review brother. Very very good review and informative from you. Subscribed only because of you. Cheers from india.
Fantastic review Rory......the car seems awesome and your presenting skills are phenomenal too.
The rear end looks like Ross Kemps face after he was stung by a wasp
I think its perfect
@@abde4645 .... For an SUV, yes. For a sports car? No.
@@sivvinod3187 what do you even mean? it is an suv the way it looks compared to a sport car doesn't matter
@@abde4645 yeah, but, you know.. Aston Martin is known for making sports cars.
According to me This suv is More beautiful than URUS .. that suv is overrated!😕
Agreed
Yes because urus is more sporty look than this, dbx is a beautiful super suv. Cant wait to see the owner of this car to slammed it to the ground with 23" wheels and fight with urus, i betting this dbx will take the W.
Yea me too
Yes for a reason, Urus platform is just VW group platform while DBX was built from ground up with all new platform, they just share little parts with Mercedes while Urus most of it is shared lol
Looks like Ford Kuga, a fast version though!
Loads of different channels with the same car review but i will always watch Rory first.
Would say clever refresh on design... As always Great Review Rory 👍
Correction: The gearbox is 9 speed, not 8 like he said in the video, and weight is 2.245 kg.
Do you honestly think any of the potential buyers care about this?
Miss those days when motoring journalist make reviews about normal cars. Now most of em' just gone for luxury cars. Not that I hate this new trend, it's fun...but just hoping that you lot keep reviewing normal cars for us normal few.
I just really like Rory's review, this dude smell literally the passion for cars and all of his videos are perfect! That said, the DBX is gorgeous, I hope to one on the road one day
Great review, this guy is one of the best out there currently 👍🏼
I love the fact that Aston Martin fixed the shifter paddles on the steering column. As it should. Take notes Audi, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and several other premium/luxury brands.
But shifter paddles mounted on the steering wheel make more sense
@@SpiderMan-ll5my only if you have slow steering
Doesn’t the Alfa Romeo stelvio quadrifoglio smash it performance wise?
And it has an alfa engine, this is not an aston anymore and neither is any aston with a merc v8
Love watching this guy make videos.... never leave
I wasn't sure when I saw the first pictures of this, but I saw one driving on the road a few weeks back and it actually looked pretty good.
Out of all the reviews this was the 1st one I picked , on next to Harry garage and then carfection the rest will be trash in comparison
Pretending they’ll take it off road 😹
Stunning car, Rory lovely video, in-depth as always
OK, how have I not already subscribed to auto trader. They have a ton of great vids. Can't believe I've missed so many.
The design is on point, they just gave you a bad specc, and it still looks good
I like the stealth look
Best review till now. Definitely the most unique SUV you can buy! 😍
Great review rory as always......and i like the suv in black,, will be shocked if it dont sell well.
Can't believe they gave up on electrification. Considering they have no partners and the internal combustion engine is no longer going to be sold after 2030, I see them going out of business.
company is partially owned by Mercedes Benz. the former CEO of AMG and some of their engineers are currently working at Aston Martin. plus electric cars are still shit
The car is absolutely gorgeous, period.
You don’t need to type “period”. The period is the “.” Which you already used. I think
I love it and this is why I live in Miami where you could found a Bentayga or a Urus almost every where you go but this is something completely different I always loved Aston Martin if I had that kind of money this will be my family car....and keep up the good work my brother I love your KZhead channel
I'm not really into SUVs, but it's good to see someone having this much fun wringing the performance out of any vehicle. I've never seen this guy before, but he's a great reviewer.
I still don’t get these sport SUVs. Hey, how would you like a sports car, but have a ridiculously high center of gravity? I had a X4M Completion in front of me on the track two months ago, and I was like, “why?”.
I will accept this answer. Thanks.
@chez421 But you SUV guys kind of ruined it for everyone else. It used to be easy to look through the rear window and windscreen of cars ahead. Nowadays I tend to stare at a plastic wall with an oversized logo and some fake vents/ diffusers/ spoilers stuck on it like a teens golf but from factory.
I meant no disrespect chez421. My wife has had some health problems so I understand and sometimes forget that a couple of degrees here and a few centimeters there make a big difference.
@@meierb75 exactly people like myself who have had serious injuries to the knee or back (in my case both) will find getting in and out of an SUV extremely easier and sometimes safer. Granted I'm an idiot and bought a car so I now struggle to get in and out of my car.
There fast, practical ,trendy , luxury and look nice
It look like if Ford has made a Nissan Juke.
That’s what I think too
This has to be one of the best looking SUVs I have seen! To me, it ranks right up there with the Lamborghini Urus. WOW! Great review! Keep up the great work! BTW that was some great driving on the track!
Easily the best car channel and as always... Rory rocks win win
Why do you say “derived”, Mercedes made that engine and the radio thingy, it’s Mercedes produced. Not derived
Engine, transmission, infotainment system. Mercedes has ownership in AM.
He says it because it is derived. The engine has been reengineered by Aston Martin and the interface of the infotainment screen has also been changed
There are no Mercedes logos to be found in the car. It is an Aston Martin product. I much prefer Aston Martin building on a Mercedes platfrom than the alternative. Which would be Aston Martin not building at all.
GrayGamingPS4 dude that engine came out the factory from Germany and put into the car in Britain, just because they did a few small changes on the complains exhaust system doesn’t make it an Aston Martin product it’s Mercedes my guy, all the reviewers would’ve said derived if it was but it’s not.
Max 44 you don’t know what you talking about
I think the Cayanne GTS still has this licked tbh.
Not intersted in this car but have to say one of the best concise car reviews I have seen. Well done Rory and well.done AM
"A party isn't a party until the cool kids arrive"😎😎 Nice one
If this had been a BMW X6, Rory would have complained about the sloping rear to the boot. But as it's an Aston, it's OK to have that sloping rear. Hmmm... :-\\...
This reminds me of something Chris Harris said to matt lablanc about never saying anything bad about Aston's because they are British cars
The Zanzibarbarian the x6 has a far more raked back than this car does.
Because the X6 is useless at being a SUV when it's a SUV lmao
A bit late in the uk😂
Upload time in the uk
Thought exactly the same. Midnight lol
Rory with another great review.
Rory killin it again !! 👍 he’s the cool kid 😎 what song at the very end???
Automatic rather than a dual clutch? It doesn't seems that "sportier" to me..
Its the norm nowadays on majority of supercars, less to go wrong and break
Why do you need a dual clutch in a car like this? I think people just assume that a DCT is a better gearbox whereas they really aren’t that special sometimes.
Most automakers who switched from automatic to dual clutch 10 years or so ago now go back to normal automatic
Next thing McLaren is going make SUVs🤦♂️😂
Ariel, Morgan and TVR are yet to make an SUV
McLaren says they dont want to create an suv’s
Not sure, but Ferrari does.
Shanjan Usman Ariel does have the offroad Nomad, which is way cooler than any SUV
No they said before
What about the roll bars? I saw on another review that they kept shifting around while driving on a normal back country road causing a rocking motion.
Excellent balanced review from an obviously knowledgeable and likeable presenter.
Rory sells it so well, but my eyes honestly can't stomach this
The front reminds me too much of a Ford
Ye, that's what ford were going for in their design it seems
Lee Bolden bearing in mind that Ford copied the Aston grille in the first plus
banging review
Rory Reid: another brilliant auto review. Great job!
Ferrari is even more late to the SUV gang
for ferrari, better never than late
They need to change that interior design on the astons. It looks old and out of place.
@James Harris If that so that car would sell a lot more than more moder look ones since in Europe majority of the population is made of old people.
The design is good you just need to change the color
Rory also racing for racing point in 70th anniversary f1 race at Silverstone
Nice Aston Martin DBX and nice review.
Come on, it's time to stop judging cars like these based on how they perform on a track. NO ONE and I mean NOBODY in the real world is buying one of these cars to A: go around a track, and B: get it covered in mud. They are 'pose & brag' machines. Plain and simple.
True
It’s ugly, tasteless, overpriced. But if it saves Aston Martin I’m okay with it.
I don't think so.. cause this is one the best sporty looking suvs out there, many car reviewers have said it and I don't think it's tasteless as well bit is a but overpriced
I like this dude he is honest in his reviews.. most of us wont be able to find short comings in these ultra luxuary cars. Good job bro🔥✌
Rory, love your reviews. Very informative and your knowledge from an engineering perspective is impressive. Having just watched this review and the other of the Bentayga, I reckon so much time spent on the race track is a bit wasted on the prospective buyer. I would have thought that the buyers of these luxo barges would be more likely to be cruising slowly down the boulevard so that they are sure to be noticed. However, that said, its interesting to see the capabilities engineered into these super expensive SUVs even though 99.9% of buyers will never drive them like you do.
Stunning vehicle and really enjoyable review
+ Good review my brother I'm a fan.
Man I have to say you are really good at your job.
been seeding ads on it and I really like how it looks
Honestly these auto trader videos are sick and Rory is brilliant
Rory you rock as always - can you show us more of your mustang? maybe do a track day?
I have never subsribed to a channel this fast
''little bit of oversteer there'' it's crazy to hear a car journalist say that while driving an SUV, we're living in wired times....and I love it!
