Your videos have given me sooo much information and I've watched some of them multiple times to really soak in all the knowledge. Watched the brake change video today but I'm not yet confident enough to do that. But I might just change the oil myself, check the other fluids and maybe change them or at least tell my uncle (mechanic) what needs to be changed. Keep up the great work

    @halldoralarsen86@halldoralarsen86 Жыл бұрын
    • If you can change your oil you can do your brakes. Just make sure you have the patience haha, you can do it!

      @12stormy13@12stormy13 Жыл бұрын
    • Learning to change oil is a great way to begin learning vehicle maintenance. Along with spark plugs which are inexpensive and also easy to change. Just be mindful not to cross thread your bolts. Especially the drain bolts for oil pans. Buy yourself an actual service manual for your vehicle to go along with the owner's manual. Invest in a few simple quality tools and you'll be off and running.

    • Believe it or not, knowing nothing about cars is complementary to femininity. Don't feel that you need to get into masculine things to be acceptable (yes, getting into cars is a masculine thing). Sadly, many women today are not taught how to be a female at all. Try and find womanly women, hang out with them and learn from them. Also, unless you've lost your hair because of an illness that you can't control, having a buzz cut is not feminine. If you look to the past, you'll find that feminine women were nothing like the women you see today. You should want to be more feminine not only because it's beautiful, not only because masculine men love it and do not love unfeminine women, but because you are a woman and once you get the basics down, you will naturally do it well. What you just heard is the truth and, sadly as well, the majority of people out ther are too cowardly to tell you the truth. I would say that most people on the coments section are too scared to tell you the truth that they will pander to you. Search for videos of feminine women and you will not see them working on cars. And if you want to get a full dose of real women, search for videos of biblical women. Regardless of how you feel about religion, those women are super feminine and super ladylike. They will give you the best advice. Reunite with your femininity and leave the masculine things to men, there are enough men around to handle the job (including your husband or future husband).

  • I've changed a lot of oil on a lot of different vehicles and my dad was a mechanic for 10 years and I've never ever heard of anyone or have I ever done filling the new oil filter with a little bit of oil. I've always put oil on the seal but I've never filled it up before. I've never had a problem woth any of my engines and my dad said that he never even did that at the shop! But maybe it does make a difference it's always cool seeing other people's ways of doing things cause you always learn something new! So thanks for teaching me that cause I would have never thought of that!! Great video as always!!

  • I love this video. I will say that some brands and models are completely different and some are similar but this should give a good idea for most brands. Also, helpful tip with power steering. remove the return line and put it into a 2 liter bottle. Now you can treat it like a brake bleed. Turn the wheel and keep an eye on the level of fluid and refill as needed. When it come in clean, you are good. Old fluid is in the 2-liter and new fluid cycled all the way through without really mixing too much with the old.

  • Im soo thankful for this video in came in clutch since I have not been taught this before. SInce latley my mother has been saying she feels like she has no breaks and when i drove it i noticed too that her breaks felt squishy, and immediately knew how to do it thanks to this video, and an older version of it you posted before. So I bleed the breaks with my little brother and mannn, the breaks are feeling wayyy better than before, I just need to change the breaks next and it'll feel brand spank'in new. Im glad I did it for like around $10, which I knew if she would have tooken it in by a mechanic, it most likley would've been more than $50-100 guarantee.

  • I can't imagine a more perfect instructional video. The biggest obstacle to doing vehicle maintenance is not knowing what we're doing. Not having a mental picture of what we need to do. Chris' videos take that mystery away so we DIY'ers can keep our equipment running for many more miles. Many thanks, Chris.

    • Man, I recently bought a '96 grand am gt, and I'm pretty sure the previous owner never flushed any fluids. They lived in a Florida beach, and there sand everywhere. I'm pretty sure there's sand in the radiator even. 😅

    • @@Freezinggreece2 Last year, I bought a '94 F-150 that came out of Tennessee. Turned out to be a '94 cab on a '92 frame. I flushed EVERYTHING - even the rear differential and brake fluid. It's a great truck in that you can even drain the torque converter fully. But I figured if it was a junkyard Frankenstein then I better do a thorough job if I wanted it to last. Had to rebuild all four brakes, too. I found that an oil pan off of a 4x4 will fit on this 2 wheel drive truck. The 4x4 pan has a drain plug. How nice. Don't have to be balancing an oil pan full of 6 quarts of oil in it while laying on your back underneath the truck.
