How to Detail Faded Paint by Hand (Paint Correction)
Learn how to detail a car with faded, scratched, paint. I will show you how to do paint correction by hand, how to remove swirl marks, how to restore faded trim, how to restore headlights, and finally how to fix sun damaged paint. I got this car for $500 and it wasn't running and was super dirty. Now the car runs and looks dripping wet!

The fact that this is free information is insane. Props to you Chris you're actually a legend, everyone who's into cars knows who you are
Assuming he makes just 1 dollar per 1000 views on average (in reality it's even more for views coming from western countries), he made as a bare minimum 6 thousand dollars on this video alone, but most likely at least 2 to 4 times as much, so upwards of 10 or even 20 thousand dollars...on just this video alone...and he'll constantly keep getting more views on this video for years and years to come, not including sponsors he gets from time to time, which adds even more. So while it is free to watch, he got more money on this single video, than people in my country get for 4 entire years on an average job, now look at how many views on his other videos he has and do the math. If he asked for money, for example to sell a book with this information, he would make far, far less, so this is a win-win for us as viewers and him as author.
@@zeljkothegreekserb At least It's not like he's getting money for doing dumb useless stuff. He gets paid for his videos and we get clear concise information & guides that makes our life easier. Win-Win I say. The issue arises from people making trash tier content which impressionable kids gobble up and then make money from that. Not to mention they then push their merchandise on those kids.
@@zeljkothegreekserb Not necessarily. There are youtubers who get a million views per vid more or less and doesn't make any money and the same person has some videos with much more less views but make more than the other videos with millions of views. So it all depends.

I'm so glad you did this by hand. 99% of youtube detailers seem to presume everyone has access to a DA polisher and lives in a house with a driveway and has access to mains power right next to their car. A lot different here in the UK, where you can struggle to park on the same road you live on lol.
No one is as crazy as me to compound and polish a whole car on video hahaha. But that’s the whole point! Most people have hands but only a handfuls of people have DA polishers and power!

I'm 99% sure that it is voice over in the final edit, but during the recording I guess he talks so the video matches with what he's saying
He does a voice over with his really good microphone is his office
He does both but his voice over is really spot on with his hand movements and what he’s doing
im laughing imagining Chris working on cars being totally silent and doing crazy hand movements just for the camera
I think he keeps the original audio in but has it set to a really low volume, if you watch some of his videos you can barely hear background noises like cars passing so unless he is adding sound effects in after I think he does both.

There is no way I would waste my time sanding and painting the wheels on a 500 dollar car. It's way too time consuming and with the age of the vehicle, it will continue to deteriorate so the cleaning was more than enough.

EvO xNike Chris’s method works great and very affordable but you’re not going to get showroom/show car results. That’s why the guys that use the higher quality and “fancy” products to get that “perfect” mirror finish and the show ready results many pay top dollar for.
@BKNY FINEST I think it's an all day project w/a dual action polisher as well... I'm surprised he didn't clay it but I guess when you go to town with all that compound, no need.

I just love your channel. I have a 2019 Ford F-150 that got damaged because it was under a portable garage with concrete blocks tied to the legs to hold it down in Tucson and the wind literally lifted the cover and dragged 2 of the concrete blocks over the truck. Horrible scratches and rub marks from the legs over the passenger side. I've been slowly working out the scratches with 3000 grit sandpaper and am about to move onto 5000 before doing the final compound and polish steps. From this video, I learned about the ceramic coating, which I am definitely going to buy and use to rejuvenate all the plastic pieces (the Tucson sun is brutal and faded the plastic quite a bit in just 3 years). hahahaaaaa nice
LMAO
You are a genius! I love watching your videos. I'm a bus driver, but I could never do what you do. I keep the vehicles clean... but you go that extra step and do a fantastic job of it too. Keep it up!
Awesome! I’m glad the videos are helpful!!!
Great video. I just got a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer for $300.00. It wouldn't idle. I cleaned the throttle body and now it runs great. This video will help me take care of the exterior issues. Thanks again
Truly have to appreciate the enthusiasm this guy expresses when showing his steps and results. I love that it's not an infomercial for products - he just seems to really enjoy this and motivating others. Job well done sir!
you are very enthusiastic when high on adderall

Car: *Has lots of broken interior parts and a worn off paintwork ChrisFix: *So anyway, I started blasting*
Teatro Theageri Yeah usually people just live with that. But glad he likes to make things perfect for the car!
@@42luke93 I feel like people that take the time to fix the small things ultimately take better care of the car.
Joseph Schrader Indeed
Ive looked at a lot of these detail vids. This is BY FAR the best. Well done!!
Omigah. U have me mesmerized. That Trailblazer looks incredible! Awesomeness!
Hey Chris, I just bought a “beater” like you with the intent of repairing it. Bought a 2007 Acura RDX which was ran beautifully, but the isn’t really aesthetically pleasing. So, it needs paint correction. This video was really help! Amazing video, Always a CHRISFIX Subscriber
Be sure to take a before and after pic and send it to me!!!
I’m not bashing on Chris at all but check out AMMO NYC for paint correction training
Yah ofc!!!
You gotta love how Chris wrote "NiceTryGettingMyEmail" as his email

@@earthclad6833 I have a car that costs 5000 usd in my country and doesn't even have electric windows, abs or airbags. Imagine if I had the chance to buy that at the same price.

The kind of superior quality I have come to expect from ChrisFix. Great work!
The guy who thought he scammed Chris for $500 watching this 😐
I can promise you he wanted to get some quick cash and didn't care about this car at all lol
ChrisFix Awesome vídeo and keep it up I watched the entire video even though I don’t even own a car 😂. Love the vids ❤️
@@chrisfix It's amazing that car didn't explode
and now he has a cheap practical and reliable daily driver
Yeah. Right. Someone thinks they are going to make money off of scamming Chris. Remember the Honda he bought for 2 or 3 hundred a few years ago. He barely popped the hood. He just mind melds with the car and knows what it needs. hehehe ChrisFix da man.
Me: Engine stopped working Mechanic: You need new engine bro Me: *Have you tried compound and polish?*
Remember to use alcohol, helps every time.
@@SergeyVolkov Good rule of thumb for life, especially when reading KZhead comments.
And the ceramic thing too

don't forget the soapy wooder and blue thread locker :-)
So much good information in one video. How to color match the paint was some info I had to locate in a different video. Thank you for the amazing content you put out!
I subscribed today. This is my 5th video. You are truly a gifted teacher and extremely smart. And very fun to watch. Thank you!
I think ceramic coating joins soapy wooder, breaker bar and medium strength tread locker in Chris's favourite substances
