What da hell is KZhead doing on KZhead
Absolutely incredible. Not only did you buy the car for them but essentially did like $15,000 worth of labor and repairs. The world is a better place because of people like you man.
I agree with this, but cant help to feel like people like this aren't really and fairly appreciated... it's always a thank you and forget you a week later. That's why I feel its only fair to give donators write offs. In poor countries a donation like this would have you be a family friend for life, but internet and modern money makes ppl feel this stuff is more normal and becomes undervalued.
It was a solid vehicle with just regular maintenance needs aside from the turbo replacement. $15,000 is a major overstatement, but I don't think that matters. What matters is that the family got a fantastic, reliable car when they needed it most.
@HazewinDog he's a noob just basic maintenance. This POS escape transmission won't last long so a pointless venture

@@mravocadoman2904 I spent $1200 on my first car, it was a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege, had a turbo and was a 5 speed, worst and best decision I ever made and wouldn't do it differently other than keeping the car because I could've fixed it up and it'd be a race car right now. Im 21 now, I got that car when I was 16, I've had 4 cars since so ig for long term ownership Im not the best for advice but most of my cars have had 190k+ miles except the protege which was at like 136-7k, just had boost issues and would have electrical surges; after replacing the clutch and transmission that I blew doing a burnout at school, lighting everything up bright as shit and popping headlights/taillights when hitting boost it was a shit show. JESUS CHRIST died for you in a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and is The LIVING GOD. Repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in a prayer and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and also turn away from your wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God Bless You.

Would’ve been better if he would’ve hired Xzibit to come through ask her what she likes and then completely make the car unpractical with hilarious add-ons. But I appreciate the philanthropy nonetheless.
Because hardwork always pays off
What's crazy is that a dealership didn't even bother to change the air filters, the broken lights or check for recalls before trying to sell it for 12k... which is still 4k more than what they probably made money on too. On the other hand, awesome work! A beautifully heartwarming and interesting video, watched it start to finish and didn't even realize an hour went by.

I doubt he will see this, but something I never see any mechanic do that at least I believe would be beneficial, is push the old bad fluids out like the old oil, transmission fluid, etc. A perfect example of why you'd wanna do this is right in this video when he checks the transmission fill level, a bunch of old black gunky liquid comes out, which otherwise would've been left in there if he hadn't checked the fill level, and even after doing so there is still likely a lot of the old fluid in there. Now I'm not saying to, for example, to do a double oil change just to clear out the old liquid, but what I do is let the oil drain all the way, then add in a bit of new oil with the drain still open so the new oil can somewhat wash out the rest of the old stuff. Just curious on others thoughts on this
You can do a complete transmission flush but it involves removing the pan or doing several transmission oil changes. I think for an introductory prep of a car for someone this is perfectly adequate.
In automatic transmissions, you should not do a complete change until u do it with machine esp in a high mileage car as the small ports for fluid movement might get blocked dye to debris The better way is to do a change which dilutes older dirty fluid while not doing a very drastic change altogether The new fluid will still do job much Better For a complete flush, u can change fluids 3 to 4 times and still some old dirty fluid will remain@@pcmasterracetechgod5660
Hi Chrisfix, you have been my inspiration since I was like 12ish when I started watching CB into the channel and it is great seeing your content thriving! I want you to be appreciate by everyone here!
Blows my mind other, smaller, auto KZhead channels hate on Chris. There’s nothing to complain about! Excellent video. Edit: I tried to explain the hate I’ve heard and from who down below to a few other people!
what do they say?
man i remember when chris had less than 100k subs lol
Never ever in my entire life i've seen someone hate on Chris
Who hates Chris? 🤬
People say he makes car repair seem easy when it’s not but that’s what I like most because it actually makes it seem possible for the average person.
ChrisFix, the absolute king of automotive youtube. Thanks for all the effort and time you put into your amazing video's!
The video where Chris cleans the inside of a car properly to look like new. I kept hearing “agitate that dirt” with a small brush so it all comes up. and I use that method for cleaning even basic things like dirty older shoes. and it works beautifully makes cleaning dirty things 10x easier Chris is the best at this!.
52:31 finally beard reveal 😂
What about the april first u promised that u are gona show us how to change electronic steering oil?
Your passion for cars is contagious.
Chris you're the best! I've got a '19 Titanium with 60k and I look forward to doing this maintenance myself down the road! Thank you for helping Homes for Heroes!
I'll just say it for him, thanks :)
Don't gap your plugs like he did. You'll damage the tips. There are better videos out there than this shade tree hack.
Chris, as a Vet, I appreciate your help to fellow Vets and their families. I also enjoy watching your videos, especially as a wrench turner trying to save $$.
What wonderful heart you have, great gift, blessings be upon you…
I always come back to ChrisFix videos :) I've been following this channel since I got my first car in 2010/11. Had another YT account then. Always get so much info watching these videos! Greetings from Europe.
this is the first chrisfix video that i've watched where the tears weren't from me wrenching.... You're such a spectacular human being.
As a veteran I would like to thank you for this!!! I know you make these videos to make a living but using your outreach to millions to shine on a fallen soldier’s family is amazing! Thank you!
This video is everything I ever needed to motivate me to help one another. Especially those who needs help. This is Amazing Chris. This got me so emotional. Literally the best video I have watched in a long while.

Really? I guess this really meaningful comment has nothing to do with advertisement.
Yea, unlike crypto!
I was all okay for the car, the new parts and fluid changes.... I lost it when i saw that fully topped off tool box! Only thought then was, Man is this guy Generous! Loved the whole video!💓
I'm glad you liked the video!
society rewards people with valueable skills and this channel is proof
You have helped me and my family save 10s of thousands through the confidence and knowledge your videos have given me. These soldiers have defended me and kept me safe in ways I will never know. Thank you guys for everything you have done for me. I am truly grateful and will do my best to pay it forward.
Seriously, his simple “GOOD!” after each step is insanely reassuring and motivating. It’s telling us that anyone can’t tackle these things.
Just the video we need. Thank you Chris
This video showcases Chris's stellar mechanical knowledge and videography skills, as well as his heart of gold 💛 This vid is a remarkable achievement... plus it motivates me to take care of my own vehicle and to get involved with my community! Chris- you're one of the best presences on the entire internet, thank you for all that you did for that family and for all the rest of us.
This is an incredible video. My dad was a mechanic but couldn't teach you anything without screaming so I don't know how to do anything to my car. With this I feel like I can handle some of my maintenance without having to ask or go to the shop since budget is tighter this year.
Hey Chris! That was, without a doubt, the unexpected highlight of my week. The work was incredible, and you're a good guy. My best salute, from a humble soldier in the Brazilian Army.
Awesome job Chris. As a disabled veteran myself and someone who has been watching before my 5 years of service. Your work has always been outstanding and professional. Also very concise and specific. Thank you for supporting us. God bless
It's this shine in someones eyes, that gives me mountain high goosebumps
You didn't install new wiper brakes.
They are built in on this car don't worry
Hey Chris, i remember that we should always disconnect the negative pole on the battery 1st. I think i learned that from you. And i noticed you disconnecting the positive 1st.
When clicking this video, I wasn't expecting to be amazed at your kindness. Your humility is inspiring. You continue to help people to the best of your ability. Keep inspiring. You've come so far to give so much. How beautiful. We need more people like yourself Chris❤
Chrisfix you’ve been the best KZheadr I’ve seen since I was 15 in Okinawa Japan beginning on cars. I’m currently in college about to turn 21 (where the time goes lol) and am still in love with your videos. I even bought the new edge mustang when I first got back to the states because of you! Keep being you and bless your soul
Bro, bro, your video went above my expectation, this is really amazing, not only a car expert but a good person. Really hope your channel keeps growing and this video influence other people to do same as you do. Following you from Panama btw. Keep the amazing work you do. For me this is your best video!
This video really brought me back to the golden age of KZhead, thanks Chris.
I watched this from beginning to end. I rarely comment but this whole video not only informed me on how to better maintain my own car after 7 years of driving, but moved me to see the heart and intention behind making it and for donating to an amazing charity. Thank you Chris for staying true to your “why” behind this channel and not letting money or fame change your morals and values. Although I don’t know you personally, from one Chris to another, may God continue to bless you and your family bro❤️🔥🙏🏼
This was such a long video but you got me watching every second of it! Thanks for the video!
Thanks a lot!
you helped car guys. And now you helped even more people out there. This is not just car channel but a meanful chanel.
This video gave me goosebumps at the end. I wish more people would understand we are all human, and sometimes we may need some extra help. Keep doing what you're doing. You are a blessing to lots of people.
These small acts of kindness is what keeping the planet alive. Thank you Chris 🙇🏻
It was wonderful to see how you helped a family in need.
No April Fools video, Chris?
Busy chugging away at the Del Sol project so not this year unfortunately.
@barracudaboi790 yeah I was going to ask that.
@@chrisfix new vid coming soon ig love ur content 💪
@@chrisfix Sed, Chris. Hope your shift to the new home either went or will go smoothly so that the upcoming stuff for the Del Sol and other project cars goes well. Much appreciation for your work and efforts.
The timing of this video is perfect! After watching your channel since I was 11, I finally got my first car! This video will definitely help me keep track of how to properly maintain it.
Hey mechanic here. Beautiful video very clear with no bs. I'd link this to a friend asking me about a new car. I am also super appreciative of what you are doing for that family. Hope all goes well and that car lasts them a lifetime! Just want to correct a few minor things that aren't too big of a deal just might be some money savers for a select unlucky few. When bleeding brakes be very careful with the bleeder valve. If possible have a helper pump the brake petal a few times, hold it while you loosen the bleeder valve and let it push out fluid, then tighten the valve and repeat. As you said make sure the master cylinder is always full. The reason is that even though it is more tedious you don't want air coming back in as the petal is released. On many cars, especially newer (2013 is newer), a lot of them will have electronic modules and if they happen to get air into them you will need to take it into a shop to get it electronically bled, not worth the extra bill. Also, on transmission fluid: If the car has many miles on it without ever being changed, such as this one with 130k, it is better to leave the fluid in as some of the material from a worn transmission helps maintain friction; getting rid of that material can cause slippage (More like reveal). You're better off to leave old fluid in and get as much extra life out of it as you can before needing it rebuilt or replaced (Avoid cars with a CVT please!! They are never rebuilt and only replaced!!). Also check your fluid every 10k-ish miles to be sure it doesn't start becoming sludge-like. If it starts showing signs, do a drain and fill and hope it wasn't worn from previous ownership. If you have a record of the fluid being changed every 30-50k miles or you bought a used car at like 60-80k a drain and fill should be okay. However most definitely NEVER flush a transmission as the same reasoning applies, no matter how many miles you have. Flushing is basically multiple changes and will get rid of more and more of that friction material. This is not to say that if you buy a new or well maintained car you can just leave the transmission fluid in there though, again change it every 30-50k miles, earlier the better, and still get it checked and serviced for any problems like noise and slippage when its gone a long time and you opt to not change fluid. Hope this helps anyone who is about to purchase their first car! Best of luck :)
Why would I ever leave fluid in a tranny that has metal in it. If the shavings are “helping with friction” then the trans is junk.
Great read through there, I just thought I'd add one thing, when replacing brakes with brand new pads & hardwear, it's quite important that when you're pushing the caliper piston/pistons back all the way to accommodate for maximum clearance for the brand new pads it's important to loosen the bleed valve, not only will it make it 10x easier to push back the piston of the caliper but most importantly if the master is already full its likely that you could overfill the master and in some cases in newer cars this can be a very expensive fix, just a little something I thought I'd add especially for when installing brand new pads & rotors Cheers!!
That's also why I never replace oil or seals. New oil has detergents that clean out "earned build-up". Just let 'em go until it's time to replace the whole shebang.
yea agreed on the trans when I saw it was black I knew that wasn't going to be good.
So you're wrong and that's an old myth to get money from replacing transmissions. Most modern transmissions have a filter to pick out the solid matter so it's not going into the valve body or clutch packs anyway. The fluid is dark because it's LV. Also he ran the tube up so the air goes up and fluid stays low to go back into the caliper if needed.
Thank you Chris
I applaud your efforts, Chris. 👏You're a good man!
Chris you left me in tears!!! Thank you for all the kindness ❤
