Now this. THIS has been the most challenging video project I have ever done. The writing, the audio design, the voice acting, the video editing, the . . . EVERYTHING! My editing skills were pushed to their very limits. I tried to learn different techniques to give some sort of interesting visuals for you all since, at the end of the day, all I can do is put images on the screen. Had to find some way to make them dance a little lol Even though it took a century, I still had a lot of fun with it and enjoyed working with Emirichu on Lady's lines :D Hoping we can continue this project to cover more within the Devil May Cry timeline :)

Mate, this was brilliant. I love how different these two are from a simple swap, I definitely like the more connecting Vergil as he is my 2nd favourite because of his skill with his blade and power, next to Nero for relatability, but feel disappointed that Dante seems to lose much of his cocky banter because of Arkham but I guess that's how it goes. It's interesting how their approaches to their lives are different from their originals too. We all missed ya and it's understandable why you've been gone so long, so take a good long break before you decide to get back at it and I look forward to seeing your next addition of this story, if not something different, I love how much detail you go into with what's happening like its a visual novel and your reasons behind they actions too. Stay safe.

I believe it's more of a "we can make weapons that can deal with demons but they'd probably seriously injure the user if they couldn't handle it". Look at Red Queen for example.

Vergil: hey, that's cheating. In all seriousness royal guard isn't that hard to deal with. I'm blind and I can consistently dodge Dante's royal release. The truck is to dodge right after right attack gets parried. 8 times out of 10 if Dante royal releases, he'll do it right after he parries you.

I just want to point out that if anybody thinks this would be fun to play... They'd be completely correct, until the Dante fights. Imagine living in a realty where the first time anybody ever learns about Royal Guard is the reality where it's used against them when they think that they can just attack Dante like any other boss.

Well, Vergil, during his bossfights can block guns. So Dante should be able to block an entire combo, and probably return it back after that.
It even builds up to something like tactic for his bossfight. Like, If you get off of Dante for too long and let him roam freely, then you'll have to stagger him with ranged weapon (or any ranged move?) first. And then chain it with any close range attack. And if you'll just decide to use only ranged moves, he'll use trickster or royal guard again to block it after recovering from the first attack
It would be exactly like the first time an NPC in Elden Ring parries and ripostes you for 1500 damage.

Vergil's devil trigger makes sense to me as the rebellion brings out his devil side and the yamato splits it off
I will say that when I first found out Nero was Vergil's son, my first thought was how Vergil of all people got it on lol. However in the case of Dante(especially in this timeline) I can 100% see him getting it on one night with someone and abandoning both of them.

I’v waited so long for this And I Was Not Disappointed I especially liked the ending where dante was legitimately afraid for his life as it is such a natural and human emotion And the echoing heart beat only shows to emphasize that as it is a natural reaction to being afraid And coming from someone who tries with all their might to reject that kind of thing I find it somehow ironic In someways I find this story to be even more gripping than the original game

It would if Capcom made this polar opposite time line into a game, and for it to cross with the main timeline, Hero Vergil meets with our main hero Dante, were as Fallen Dante meets with our main Vergil.

I like Dante in blue and Vergil in red! They put the characters and their personalities into a very unique context, although making them opposites instead would have been interesting too. Making Dante a spiteful green and Vergil a reserved yet honest orange is something I would like to see someday.

Well he was stabbed with both Yamato and Rebellion, stabbed with rebellion would’ve awakened Vergil’s DT like Dante in DMC3, but was stabbed with Yamato while the demon inside was awakening, splitting them similar to how Vergil spirit human and demon in DMC5, but considering it was in the middle of awakening in guessing Yamato didn’t have enough time to completely split the two

@@Mia_2512 if I remember correctly, and correct me if I’m wrong about this, Vergil Awakened to his DT during that night when his home was attacked, his DT activated out of a rush of adrenaline and panic when he was about to be killed by the demons, ever since then Vergil has tried to hone that transformation assuming it was a one-time thing at that time, similar to how Dante had a psudeo-DT in the manga, since canonically speaking, Dante awakens to his DT in DMC3
@@Mia_2512 It's basically a fact that you can awaken your DT through multiple ways. Nero unlocks his the moment he gets his father's blade. Dante awakens his when he is stabbed by Rebellion as it "fuses with man and devil", likely forcing an awakening whether he ready or not. While Vergil awakened his when he was in a life or death situation. Rebellion is just one of multiple ways to unlock your DT. Though I imagine it's the most guaranteed way of getting it.

in that world, Vergil would have three styles while dante will have four I want anyone to guess the styles each
Vergil-dark slayer, quicksilver and doppelganger Dante-Swordmaster, gunslinger, trickster, royal guard It’s pretty obvious, those 4 styles are what Dante started with before the game. Quicksilver and Doppelganger were gained by climbing the tower. But since that Vergil is doing the climbing this time, he will be the one getting them. While the trend of Vergil having doppelganger is something that has existed since the DMC reboot, having him use Quicksilver seems appealing.

@@RandomPerson-cm2wg On top of it, Quicksilver fits well with how fast he uses Judgement Cut and that insane AoE slash he does in his boss fights. Slowing down time to do those types of moves makes sense to me, since he isn't going for constant power increases due to the position switches.

Champ, my dude. This. Was. AMAZING! I actually felt like I was watching a movie for a moment there. In any case, getting to see Part 2 and the completed Vergil's Awakening arc back-to-back was definitely worth several months of waiting! Hearing that Vergil eventually begins to see Lady as surrogate little sister is honestly really adorable too. Gotta love that wholesome shit. I'm even more hyped to hear that you'll be covering the rest of the games in this Alternate Universe (especially the DMC4 arc)!

I’m... really not gonna lie, I can think that, after using Lady’s rocket launcher (I legit forgot it’s name.) Vergil could see that, while firearms are way out of his comfort zone, he could give them a try, perhaps after a chance interest in a museum in whatever dmc equivalent of Japan and found out that Oda nobunaga made it a custom for warriors, including samurai, to use western guns, maybe nothing as flashy as the guns Dante normally gets, but something to just blow a hole in a demon, either to kill them, cripple them to deal the finishing blow, or maybe just as a backup if he’s getting rush downed hard. Just as an edit to ask everyone who takes interest to this: if Vergil where to pick up an firearm into his fighting style while formally complementing his Iaijutsu, what would you all believe it could be? I was thinking an small one handed single shell shotgun might work.
Remember: Vergil will always have a flare for the dramatic. Anything that could make look like a cinematic or theatrical badass would pretty much fall into the category of “Dramatic.” Ergo, utilizing a firearm, while out of his comfort zone, can be something he may want to think about utilizing if he wants to walk away from a fiery explosion with nothing but a simple smirk after dealing with hordes upon hordes of demons. Just something to think about, in my opinion.

You ever really think about how Vergil and Lady would have even closer relationship than Dante and Lady do in canon. Because Vergil would understand her feelings alot quicker than Dante, while still wanting to take down Arkham for her. While Dante dropped more flirtatious hints and Lady slapping them away, Lady would most likely Respect Vergil more for not trying to get into her bullet laced Skirt. Atleast, that's coming from my perspective as a fanfiction enjoyer.
The interactions you came up with between Lady and Vergil are pretty good, you display the clear difference in Alt Vergil's mindset to Canon Dante's, in how he would show his compassion and concern in a rather logical manner, which influences the hilarious first interaction of him genuinely being shocked at how aggressive she was after he saved her the first time, and you still manage to have them butting heads with eachother be realistic in spite of his less provocative behaviour. Your version of the "Date a demon?" Conversation was pretty funny with how Vergil sassed Lady in a similar way to Dante, but a bit more refined, and the fact that he sticks around to help does a good job of making this Vergil more likeable. I had to stop for a few seconds after hearing "where's your motivation" in the conversation before his fight with Lady cos it caught me off guard. And that final battle was great, and perhaps unintentionally, just like in the Canon, Vergil's choices and actions in the final moments are what leads to the fall. With Canon Vergil's last charge being what leaves him at the cliff edge, and his own pride compelling him to jump. Alt Vergil goes from determination to save his brother, to the realisation that he might not be able to, ending with him backing Dante up to the cliff, and Dante jumping out of fear for his own life.
This is very well put together. Have you thought about doing this for DMC 1? I think it would be very interesting to see Vergil interacting with Trish, Mundus, and Nero Angelo.

I am so glad that I'm not the only one that has Nero as their favorite character in Devil May Cry.
I would so play the shit out of this if it was made into a game. Vergil's always been my favorite character, and the only one that I can play effectively with now, since using Dante for me just got too complex after DMC3, and I can't be bothered to get the timing down for Nero's Exceed mechanic.

I feel Nero would be much more different in some capacity. Obviously, I feel that it won't be his name or if he's going to be the same physically... What, different reality, different rules right? I feel with Virgil being the main character in this story, it's definitely gonna be more drastically different than how Dante handle many of his missions. His interactions with Trish, Mundus and his men, even I feel DMC 2 could be more different. So many possibilities, so little time.
Still holding out for Vergil to have Nero with Lady as the mother.

@@rogaldorn4759 I actually think it does though Lady is the living proof that human can be strong too and she would make him accept his human part as stronger than he thought it was There is also potential with their dynamic since both of them are very independant but approach people in a different way I honestly think she fits better with vergil than with dante Dante needs someone more stable and mature since he's reckless and can't really take care of himself (not in fighting obviously but he can't pay the bills etc)
@@HeyMomonia Dante actually is more then capable of taking care of himself if you read the manga and the other forms of media of dmc you'll find out why Dante is in debt as badly as he is. In the first manga ever made Dante would always just spend money as soon as he got it however he wasn't in debt only having the philosophy of spending every penny he had, he did borrow money a lot, however at the end of that novel he starts sending a majority of his money to take care of two orphan girls that he blames himself for the lost of their father. Dante also seemingly allows himself to be indebted to his friends aka Patty, Morrison, Lady, and even Enzo, its shown in the Devil May Cry CD drama and anime episode two of the anime if I remember correctly Lady wanted Dante to help with a mission and sets the terms of the bet and ofc Dante loses however in the end of the episode Dante then does the same thing to the client at the end of the episode, also in the CD Drama Dante helps Enzo and completely loses his debt to Enzo that he gained from his pawned devil arms however even tho Dante can take his devil arms and no longer needs to keep them with Enzo still leaves them and let's his debt pile up again, lastly Dante could make money easily and even be a lot better off then he is now except he doesn't take jobs that aren't interesting to him and also as shown in the anime he rarely ever charges people that genuinely need his help only going as far as to having them buy him lunch before calling it a day. I am pretty sure Dante just allows himself to be in debt and doesn't care since he has practically everything he wants that he can get with money on top of that whenever Lady or Trish buys anything and sends the bill to him he doesn't complain to them about it and pretty much allows it to happen

DUUUUUDE THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! And from what I gather, we'll be getting MORE? Now this, this is true motivation! Super Looking forward to where the "What If" story goes!!! Vergil claiming various Devil Arms, his interactions with Trish, Nico... Will Nero still be Vergil's son? Or would his father now be Dante? Hm... So many ideas to process and decide on!

oh my GODS this was so worth the wait!! The presentation was perfect, the concept was interesting, the alternate story had me on the edge of my seat, even the voice acting was chef's kiss. If Capcom somehow made this into a separate videogame, dare I say I might have actually enjoyed this more than the original Devil May Cry 3 (imagine if this had been Vergil's campaign in the DMC3 special edition, holy shit the missed opportunity...) great job on this, really. It's amazing. It might be fanfiction in video format but it's DAMN GOOD fanfiction. Looking forward to the next one!
This was really interesting and well made, I already genuinely find this "What If" Vergil more compelling than either brother in the main series and I look forward to seeing how both brothers turn out.

You've no meals, no refreshments... And the only lady to attend has just left. Dante: Heh... Sorry, bro. Guess I was so excited to see you, I completely forgot to get the things for the party. Vergil: Regardless, it has been an entire year since our previous encounter. Why not share a hug with your big brother? Or better yet, have a hug from this. **draws Yamato** Dante: **Draws and opens Coyote shotgun barrels to load in shells** Vergil: So this is what they call a "heartwarming family reunion", hm? Dante: You got that right. **closes Coyote barrels**
I appreciate it man but, arkham posing as jester also has a significant weight on it's plot. Imaginations of a jester pestering Vergil aside, I was vying for your take on how he reacts to the jester's provocations as he led him on. But eh, still, superb work man.
I like the dynamic between lady and vergil in this. It's actually interesting.
(Insert Applause Gif Here) A job well done. I particularly liked that moment from 45:14 to 45:28. It shows that while retaining much of the seriousness of his canonical counterpart, this alternate Vergil can have moments of levity. A good way of portraying him embracing his human side more.
We need more stories with Vergil as the protagonist. Particularly the artwork of him in red coat looks amazing.
