When Royal Inbreeding Went Horribly Wrong

What are the cases when the royals family inbred? What are the consequences of royal inbreeding? Today we are going to look at the stories of the past, when royal inbreeding went horribly wrong. When we talk about inbreeding we are referring to reproducing with someone who is closely related in terms of genetics. We see this happen a lot when dogs are bred, and many people are critical of it. You see, when a pooches’ mum and dad are not genetically related that puppy gets diverse genes. This is a good thing as if both were the same or similar and carried a faulty gene the puppy would also get that fault. With a mix, it has more choice and can override the bad gene. As one dog breeding website puts it, some inbred dogs are “born sick and die sick.” With that in mind, how does inbreeding bode for humans? That’s what we’ll find out today, in this episode of the Infographics Show, When Royal inbreeding went wrong.

Even if not designed, it's a pretty sweet feature of the DNA/ evolutionary system. Forces the population to seek out better combinations because keeping the same ones will just expose the native biological flaws.

    • well... royalty is royalty. Cant argue with that.

      @TechSupportDave@TechSupportDave5 жыл бұрын
    • @@michaelhixson6939 ...It doesn't really work that way. It comes down to statistics. To develop any genetic disease, you need to inherit that exact same gene from both parents. It's simply far more likely that you'll inherit the exact same faulty gene from both parents if your parents are related. In breeding doesn't cause genetic diseases. It merely exposes the inferior genes that are already present in the gene pool. Odds are high that you have a ton of faulty genes. You inherit one gene, that does the same thing, from each parent, and your body picks to use the least defective one. If you inherit a gene for blue eyes from one parent and a brown gene from the other, your body will ignore the blue gene because it considers the brown gene genetically superior. The only way you can have blue eyes is if you inherit the blue gene from both parents. Since your body has no better option. It's this very same backup system that causes faulty genes to hide in our genepool and be passed on. Until some unlucky individual inherits the same faulty gene from both parents. Or lucky, in the case of blue eyes.

Inbreeding is a terrible practice and I think it's about time people in countries like mine start to see that fact. unfortunately it's still a VERY common practice

  • GUESS WHAT COUNTRY I'M FROM! There is this thing in my country, called "jeti ata" literally translated "seven grandfathers" more like "seven generations". We have this unbreakable tradition where you can't marry to someone with whom you have same grandfather(from your family line, your "seven grandfathers"). EVEN IF THIS is grangrandgrandgrandfather, YOU JUST CAN'T MARRY HER/HIM And we are divide ourselves into "ru"(tribes, not actual, but we were 200 years ago). People doesn't marry/date each other if they are from the same ru. It is actually the main thing in our culture. We have this tradition from the beginning of the time

  • 6:40 I have something to add for Tsarevich Alexei. Yes, he lived in constant suffering from the disease, and most likely he would’ve died young, but he did not die from it. He was assassinated with the rest of his family. Somehow, a man named Grigori Rasputin was able to cure his fits when the pain from the disease was unbearable. On many occasions, Rasputin practically saved Alexei’s life. I just thought I would make that clear since the video didn’t plainly state that.

Like I said, they save many, many lives. And so many more people are able to be saved from harmful diseases today than they were back before the creation of immunizations, but there has also been thousands of deaths due to vaccines as well.

I wonder if it's because there is a lot of inbreeding in Korean culture as there only seems to be a handful of surnames that are all the same? Supposedly 85% of men are all descendants of genghis khan but I wonder how scientists can hypothesize this when supposedly genghis khans remains were never found?
